Chapter 283 Someone's Gotten Attached
Eula touched her lips. "Did you lick away all my lipstick?"
Judson glanced at her rosy lips, which looked even prettier now. He smiled, wiping away the stray lipstick on his own lips.
"Nope, you look even more beautiful now!" he said, standing up and pulling her to her feet. "Let's go have some fun."
Eula still worried about her lipstick when Judson helped her put on a mask.
"You look amazing!" he praised again.
Judson put on his own mask, wanting to admire her beauty alone. Hearing his words, Eula stopped worrying. She squinted and smiled, feeling like a little girl again with Judson's care.
Judson held her hand, and they left the lounge.
The banquet hall's atmosphere was lively, with people in strange costumes, like blood-covered nurses and ghouls on stretchers. The scene was eerie yet intriguing.
Eula blinked, finding it hard to tell people apart, which was amusing.
A group passed through the crowd, separating Eula and Judson. Eula was pushed forward a bit. When she stopped, she turned to look for Judson, but the lights suddenly dimmed.
Hugo descended from upstairs in a black tailcoat and vampire mask, looking dashing like a real vampire. The crowd applauded as Hugo landed, and the spotlight focused on him while a servant removed the wires.
Hugo raised his hand and announced, "The masquerade ball has officially begun. You may now invite your partners to dance."
The hall remained dimly lit, and Eula kept looking for Judson, but there were too many people and poor lighting didn't help. Everyone started dancing, and the hall quickly became a dance floor.
Eula stepped back and exited the dance floor. Standing on the side, she watched people dancing. The music was lively, and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
Eula moved to the side, looking for Judson. After a full circle, she sighed, disappointed that she still had not found him. Since they had to check their coats and bags at the door and phones weren't allowed, it was really hard to find him.
Eula bit her lip lightly and looked around. Demons and ghouls passed by frequently. She was glad she didn't bring Angie, who would have been terrified.
Eula walked to the nearby bar, deciding to sit there for a while. If she still couldn't find Judson, she would leave. She had come solely because of Judson, and the gift for Hugo had already been delivered to the butler. Eula wasn't very interested in parties like this anyway.
A man sat down next to her. The lighting was too dim, and he was dressed in black with a silver mask, making it impossible to tell who he was.
"Alone?" he asked.
His voice was deep and pleasant. Eula glanced at him and lightly swirled her drink.
"No, I have a date." She rejected him directly, but he didn't seem to want to leave. He took a sip of his drink.
He told the bartender, "Get this lady a Flaming Rose."
Soon, a glowing red cocktail was placed in front of her. Eula frowned slightly and took a sip of her own drink.
"Thanks, but I don't like drinks with strange colors." She pushed the drink back to him.
The man raised an eyebrow and sighed. "You're really not giving me any face."
Soon, a few men and women gathered around them, teasing, "Peter, there's a woman you can't handle too, huh?"
