Chapter133 Class Reunion (Part 4)
Scott’s voice was loud, his anger unmistakable.
No one dared cross Scott, so they quickly averted their eyes, biting back any further comments.
Emma Johnson spoke up, “We’re all classmates here, let’s drop the idle gossip.”
She sat down next to Eula. “Don’t mind them, Eula, you know how women can be when they're together.”
Eula’s face stiffened as she gave Kristina a cold look.
Her misfortune today was thanks to her and her mother's doing, and still, Kristina had the gall to slander her.
Teeth clenched; Eula glared at her with resentment.
Kristina smirked triumphantly, “Sis, I haven't said a word. Don't glare at me like that.”
Eula replied icily, “Feeling guilty? Did I say it was you? But Kristina, don't overstep your boundaries, or you might just get what’s coming to you.”
The others at the table watched the sisters, who once appeared close in the same class, now revealing the true depth of their strife.
“Let’s drop it, shall we? Why don’t we talk about something else?” someone suggested.
“Anyone getting married soon? It feels like we're all at that age, right?”
Kristina spoke with a smile, “It might just be me first. My wedding's on the 27th next month. Make sure you all show up!”
Raising her glass proudly, she toasted with everyone.
“Kristina, congratulations!”
“You're marrying well!”
“The envy of us all!”
Eula didn't join the toast; today's buffet seemed to be a special order— an array of seafood and lobster. She ignored everyone else, got up, and helped herself to a hefty serving of food. After all, why not indulge when someone else is footing the bill? No problem is too big that a good meal, or two, can't fix.
The table was alive with laughter and conversations about work. Ethan noticed Eula focused on her plate, so he slid a bowl of soup toward her.
"Eula, be careful not to choke."
It wasn't until then that Eula looked up at him and replied, "With all these delicacies, I plan to enjoy my fair share. Don't worry! My stomach isn't delicate, lucky to have this much."
Scott's brow furrowed slightly, a flash of concern crossed his face. "Eula, no matter what happens, you can always count on me."
They had just exchanged contact information. Scott assured her, with just a call, he would be there for her, wherever he was. After waiting six years, he wouldn't let her slip away again. Eula forced a smile, "Thanks!"
It was a new experience for her, hearing those words, and it was surprisingly moving. At that moment, her phone buzzed. A message from Dewitt:
"Mommy! We're at Villa 6, come hang out with us when you've got some time."
Eula's eyes widened slightly. Turning to Johnson Emma beside her, she inquired, "Do we have villa-style hot springs here?"
Johnson nodded, "There's only Villa 6. It's insanely luxurious and the price is just as shocking. Why, you interested?"
Shaking her head, Eula clarified, "No, just heard of it, was wondering if it's around."
Worry crept onto her face. How did the kids end up here? In the most lavish Villa 6, no less? Before she could inquire who they were with and whether it was Geoffrey, a message from Judson came in.
“Miss Lowe, I'm with your three little ones at Villa 6. Please visit us during your free time after the reunion.”
