Chapter 134 Speaking Ill of Judson
The last thing Eula had expected was for him to show up here with kids. Glancing at the people around the table, she knew the man they were gossiping about was now in the very same complex, her children in tow. A run-in would surely cause trouble.
She quickly typed back, [Judson, please watch the kids, don't let them wander. I'll join you as soon as I'm done here.]
After sending the message, she checked her phone several times, hoping he'd keep the kids safe inside the villa, away from any encounters with the others.
As the meal wound down, Kristina observed that most had finished eating and spoke up.
"Let's go, time for a soak in the hot springs," lamented Emma Johnson, "though it's a bummer that Villa #6 is booked today. Otherwise, we could have had a blast there."
She seemed disappointed, as if she were a regular at this place.
Judging by her demeanor, Eula figured she had no clue that Judson had arrived.
It was a good thing Judson hadn't told her, for if she knew the three kids were also here, Emma would surely drag her friends along, uttering harsh words and pointing fingers at the children.
Eula could take some criticism, but she wouldn't stand for the kids taking any.
Noticing Eula hadn't moved, Emma called out to her.
"Eula, come on. Don't dwell on what happened before. We all know who you really are, and no amount of gossip can tarnish that," Emma reassured her, her voice full of conviction.
Ethan Scott looked at her with a reassuring smile and nodded.
Hank Johnson stood beside Ethan, watching Eula with skeptical eyes.
But seeing Ethan's infatuation and Emma's belief in her, Henry began to doubt the rumors; they might be false.
He pursed his lips, "Eula, come join us. Ethan has been wanting to see you more than anyone else these past years."
Eula smiled, "We've always been good friends."
In high school, she and Ethan were desk mates and got along well. They had once made plans to attend the same college, but after her incident, she dropped out and never saw him again.
They all returned to their rooms to change into swimwear. Eula donned a playful, teal one-piece swimsuit with frilly accents that added a touch of mischief.
She stepped out in a white bathrobe, joining the trio who were similarly dressed in the resort's robes.
Her hair was pulled back into a bun, showcasing her clear, beautiful face with bright, prominent eyes.
Ethan couldn't but reminisce about their school days when he saw her. She used to wear her hair like that back then, pretty and cute! She seemed unchanged by time, as if it had left no trace on her.
Eula smiled at them, "Let's head out!"
Walking alongside Ethan, Hank whispered to him.
"You know, Eula seems just like she used to. How can she still look so young?"
Thinking of himself by comparison, laboring daily at work, he felt almost aged beyond his years.
Ethan’s smile grew, "Unchanged indeed."
Emma linked arms with Eula, striking up a conversation.
"Eula, that Jud is a tough nut to crack, isn't he? It must be tough being his secretary, right?"
She'd often heard stories about the big boss, how he would leave their manager quaking in his boots after a serious reprimand from Judson.
So, in her mind, Judson was definitely a tyrant.
Eula solemnly nodded, “Yeah, he’s tough.”
