Chapter 352 Sensible Child
Madison threw out a low-key signal to a few folks, basically saying she wasn't gonna put up with any crap here.
The store clerks huddled up, and Dewitt and Rodolfo were eyeing them, worried Eula might be in over her head.
The two of them gave the troublemakers the stink eye, ready to jump in if things got messy.
But Eula didn't need any backup. She straight-up tossed two clerks who got too close, sending them flying into the display window. They were hurting so bad they thought twice about stepping up again.
Madison, pretty impressed by Eula's moves, whipped out her phone and headed for the door to call security.
Melissa, seeing everyone was scared of Eula, struggled. "Eula, let go of me, let go."
Kristina had already changed into her dress and came out, spotting Melissa's face all red with five slap marks on it.
"Eula, what the heck? Did you hit my mom?" She pulled out her phone and called Fernando. "Dad, Eula hit Mom. Get here quick! We can't handle her." she whined like she was the one getting bullied.
Eula let go of Melissa, who lost her balance and hit the ground, twisting her ankle.
She grabbed Angie's hand. "Melissa, zip it. Keep running your mouth, and next time it won't just be a slap."
Melissa, fuming at Eula's nerve, saw her about to leave and wasn't having it. "Stop her, don't let her go. She hit me, she needs to pay for it."
A few clerks blocked the door. "You can't leave, wait for security."
Eula glanced at the kids, and Angie looked confused. "Eula, you said fighting is bad. Why are you fighting?"
Eula knew Melissa and Kristina wouldn't let this slide. Fernando would be here soon, and who knew what kind of mess that would be?
She didn't want her kids to see this ugly side of the world; she just wanted them to stay in their happy bubble.
Eula said, "Dewitt, take Rodolfo and Angie to the dessert shop across the street. I'll come find you after I handle this."
Dewitt nodded, his eyes full of worry. "Okay, I'll take care of them. But can you handle it? Don't let them push you around."
Seeing Dewitt's clear eyes and calm demeanor, she smiled a bit. "Don't worry, I'll be fine."
Dewitt was still worried, thinking about calling for help.
Eula seemed to read his mind and said softly, "I really won't be in any trouble. Just wait for me at the dessert shop. Don't call Geoffrey; he's in the hospital and can't come."
Usually, when stuff went down, these two kids liked to call Geoffrey.
But Geoffrey was blind, and she didn't want them to bother him.
The light in Dewitt's eyes dimmed a bit. Now he was even more worried about her.
"Go on!"
Dewitt turned to look at her, and so did Angie.
"Mommy, I want to stay with you." Rodolfo bit his lip. "Mommy, we're grown up now. We can protect you."
Angie blinked her big eyes, about to cry. 'The people here are so bad, all with cold faces, glaring at Mommy. It's so scary.'
Dewitt took Angie's hand. "Rodolfo, Angie, let's wait for Mommy over there."
He was the oldest, and he listened to Eula, wanting to share her burden.
In this situation, if things really got out of hand, it might scare Angie.
Eula's consideration was spot on. Angie's timid nature and delicate physique made her easily overwhelmed by fear.
Watching the three kids walk away, Eula went back to the couch area, sat down all cool, and picked up a magazine to read.
It was a fashion mag, with Tiffany on the cover and an interview with her.
She opened it and started reading, not giving a damn about the store's vibe.
Soon, security showed up and surrounded Eula. "Miss, please come with us to the security office."
