Chapter 97 Favoritism
As she spoke, she resumed wiping her tears, the resentment in her eyes profound.
Eula had the audacity to call her ugly and pull her hair. It seemed light by comparison, but Kristina had never expected her to fight back, almost as if she had some martial arts training.
Kristina felt deeply wronged and resolved that Eula must be taught a harsh lesson today.
With a scoff, Judson activated the wall-mounted screen and, with a few taps on his smartphone, played the office surveillance footage.
Kristina's jaw dropped as every detail of her actions was magnified on the screen, visible to all with crystal clarity.
It was obvious at a glance who was at fault.
Once the footage ended, the screen retracted back into the wall, and a faint smile played at the corners of Judson’s lips, conveying a dangerous aura.
Kristina quickly straightened up, "Judson, she called me ugly, that's why I pulled her hair."
Judson chuckled coldly, "So, she can’t speak the truth? Or must she lie?"
That was a jab at her looks, and Kristina felt even more distressed.
"Judson…"
She stood and moved closer, attempting to grab his arm.
Judson dodged, his voice frosty. "Kristina, let's not forget we're just business partners. I’ve granted you certain privileges and power in public. People might respect you because they see you with me, everyone but Eula, got it?"
Kristina nodded reluctantly, unable to accept why Eula was shielded by him so fiercely.
She was just a secretary after all, wasn’t she deserving of respect?
Though her pride was wounded, she swallowed her discontent.
"Judson, I understand. I won't provoke her again, alright? There's no need for you to be upset. Didn't you say you wanted me to come home with you tonight? I didn't get to meet Grandpa Nash last time. Today, I brought him a gift."
With that, she reached behind and presented a box of health supplements.
"This is great for the elderly, really good for one's health!" she exclaimed with a hopeful smile.
With a faint smile, she thought to herself that if she could win over the hearts of the Nash family, and truly become Judson’s lady, then what threat would a mere secretary pose?
Once she truly had his heart, Eula would simply be someone to be disposed of whenever she pleased, a toy to be played with at her whim.
As Eula returned from photocopying documents, she caught Kristina laughing — no doubt Judson had a talent for charming women.
She placed the documents on the desk. “Judson, the copies are ready.”
After speaking, she returned to her desk. By sitting there, she felt like she was third-wheeling, which was quite uncomfortable.
She stood up, “Judson, Myles mentioned we’re out of coffee, I’ll go grab some.”
Leaving with her purse, the coffee was indeed out, but normally they’d just have it delivered. This trip was just a convenient excuse.
Judson nodded, “Alright!”
He realized that Eula seemed upset, probably at the sight of Kristina, but today he needed Kristina’s acting skills, so he let Eula go out to clear her head.
Originally, Judson had arranged for the driver to pick her up at six, needing her cooperation in his act.
Unexpectedly, she arrived early and the two bumped into each other.
As Eula left the CEO’s office, Myles just arrived, greeting her with a smile.
“Miss Lowe, heading out somewhere?”
Eula responded with a sweet smile, “Myles, I'm sorry, I told the boss you sent me out for coffee. Please don’t reveal that, okay?”
She clasped her hands together in a gesture of thanks.
A flicker of surprise crossed Myles' eyes.
Was Miss Lowe setting him up? He wouldn’t dare order Miss Lowe around. Two words crossed his mind.
Uh-oh.
