Chapter 327 Hope He'd Figure it out

Eula shot him a look.

Yeah, she was kinda pissed—they were supposed to crash at Judson's for Christmas, but thanks to him, they ended up at the Lowe's.

But seeing his guilty puppy eyes, she softened up.

Thinking about all the times Geoffrey had her back, and how he saved their butts back in the day, she got his feelings for her. Crushing on someone ain't a crime.

She shook her head. "I had a blast tonight. Spending Christmas with Grandpa was my wish."

In this crazy world, out of all the Lowes, David was the only one who treated her like gold from day one.

Now that he was getting up there in age, every year counted.

Geoffrey nodded a bit. "But, your face."

He still felt bad about her getting smacked.

Eula shook her head. "I'm good, seriously. Don't sweat it."

Right then, Geoffrey's phone buzzed. He pulled it out and saw it was Shirley. He didn't wanna pick up.

The call ended, and then a text popped up.

Shirley: [Geoffrey, if you don't pick up, I'm calling Eula next.]

As the message flashed, Shirley called again, and he had no choice but to answer.

"Mom."

"Geoffrey, you're not home for Christmas. Do you know your grandpa's upset? You're the only one missing."

Geoffrey's face darkened a bit. "I know, I'll be back later."

"Geoffrey, by the time you get here, he'll be asleep. Just 'cause you're the oldest Hopkins kid doesn't mean you can slack off. Everyone else is kissing up to George. You might lose your spot as heir. And about Eula, don't even go there. Grandpa can't stand her. Stick with her, and you'll lose everything." With that, she hung up.

Geoffrey put his phone away and stared out the window.

Christmas vibes were everywhere.

He was stoked earlier. He even talked to David about popping the question after Christmas and marrying Eula ASAP.

Now, he had to deal with his family's drama.

Eula could guess who called. After all these years, Geoffrey still didn't get their situation.

They were never gonna happen, so she never let herself get too close.

They were not meant to be. She got that now. She hoped he'd figure it out too.

When they pulled up to Starry Villa, the car stopped in front of building seven. As Eula got out, she glanced at building eight. Lights were off; Judson wasn't back.

As she figured, he was with his grandparents tonight.

Of course, as the only heir to the Nash family, which only included his elderly parents, he had to spend more time with them.

The three kids waved goodbye, and Eula raised her hand too. "Geoffrey, drive safe!"

Geoffrey didn't wanna go back to the Hopkins' at all. He wanted to go back with this family of four, blend in, and be part of their crew.

He forced a smile and said, "Merry Christmas!"

The three kids chimed in, "Merry Christmas!"

Watching his car drive off, Eula quickly called the kids, "Let's go home!"

The four of them happily walked home. Angie, the chatterbox, was the loudest.

"I got so many gifts. Dewitt, Rodolfo, let's go open 'em!"

Eula rubbed her cold hands. "Alright! Let's get inside first, then we'll open the gifts."

Mary had gone to a relative's place, so it was just the four of them tonight.
