Chapter 228 Having Lunch Together
Judson opened his eyes, a slight smile playing at the corner of his lips.
"Eula, you were supposed to have a day off today. Why did you suddenly think of inviting me for lunch? I actually prefer the food you cook."
Even though Eula's cooking wasn't particularly delicious, he just liked it, for some inexplicable reason.
Eula focused on patting his head, her mood completely different.
She used to be hostile towards Judson because he was Kristina's boyfriend, but now she felt Judson was her friend.
And to her, a very special friend indeed.
"Judson, thank you for last night. I will follow the agreement from now on, cooking dinner for you every night and cleaning the room."
Lately, she had been sneaking away or deliberately avoiding him.
She just didn't want to acknowledge the money she owed from that time, because she had been deceived by him.
Now, she willingly allowed herself to be deceived by him.
Judson raised an eyebrow. "No need to be so polite, just treat me a bit better in the future."
After a while, she withdrew her hand.
Surprisingly, Judson felt a bit lost. The soft little hand pressing on his head was quite comfortable.
Eula opened the lunch box and arranged the dishes.
"Judson, let's eat!"
She glanced at the time; it was already 12:45. Usually, she scheduled lunch for him at 12:30.
Being late by fifteen minutes today didn't really matter.
Judson had a weak stomach; if he didn't eat on time, especially when busy, he would skip meals.
And he had to drink black coffee every day, so she always added milk to his coffee.
Judson stood up and sat on the sofa.
Eula sat on the carpet opposite him, her usual spot.
"Judson, are you satisfied with these dishes?"
Judson looked at the dishes on the table—three meat dishes, two vegetarian dishes, and a soup.
Eula was treating him, quite generously this time; a faint smile appeared between his brows.
"Eula, you're being too generous."
These dishes were signature dishes at Ash and Dine, and they were pricey.
Eula chuckled as she bit her fork.
"As long as you like it!" she said.
The two sat facing each other, eating their meals. Eula occasionally picked up some dishes for him.
Then she lowered her head to eat her own food, while Judson looked at the dishes in his lunch box, picking them up and savoring each bite.
Indeed, he had a better appetite when eating with Eula. After the meal, he lit a cigarette.
Taking a deep drag, his narrow eyes fixed on her as she continued eating, taking small bites.
Just then, the door to his office was pushed open, and Kristina walked in.
Her high heels made a crisp sound against the floor due to her hurried pace, making quite a noise.
Both of them glanced over, with Eula turning her head to look at her.
When Kristina saw Eula, her expression changed.
She walked to the opposite side of Judson. "Judson, I need to talk to you."
The events of last night had a significant impact on her, and she had been waiting for him. Since he hadn't come to her, she had to come to him.
"Eula, could you step out for a moment?" Kristina asked.
Eula stood up abruptly. She wasn't obeying Kristina's request; she just felt that Judson and Kristina needed to talk.
Today's entertainment news was all about the failed union between the Nash family and the Lowe family, attracting a lot of attention.
It didn't have much impact on the Nash family, but the Lowe family's stocks plummeted, and the situation wasn't great.
Eula packed up the lunch box and then walked out of the office.
Now, there were only the two of them left in the office. Eula pursed her lips, sat next to Judson, and hugged his arm.
She asked, "Judson, why was the engagement canceled last night? We signed an agreement, and I will be obedient, I won't tell anyone."
She wasn't here to interrogate; she was here to reassure him, to continue the agreement with her, to continue being his girlfriend.
Judson was quite surprised. "The engagement was canceled. Is your family pressuring you? Don't you resent me?"
