Chapter 123 Mommy's Hope for Love

Dewitt and Rodolfo shook their heads in understanding. "Mom, you work so hard."

They knew how much she struggled, taking on multiple jobs every day just for their sake.
Forgoing fancy clothes and luxury makeup, she spared no expense for them.

And they, in turn, dedicated themselves to their studies, eager to grow up and share her burdens.

Eula looked at her sons' handsome faces and the certainty in their eyes, her heart swelling with a blend of pride and a touch of sorrow.
With sons this caring, she'd do anything!

She walked over and wrapped them in a hug.
"I'm so grateful to be your mommy.."

She might not be perfect, might not provide them the best life, and they lacked a father in their lives.
But she was eternally grateful that they chose her to be their mother.
Angie dashed over and joined the embrace.
"I want in on the hugs too!"
The two kids pulled Angie in, all of them hugging her tightly as she laughed with pure joy.
"This is family!"

After the heartfelt moment, they all got into the car.
Suddenly, Angie piped up, "Eula, last night Mr. Judson called to check on the boys, and he said you were away on business and couldn't come home as planned. Where did you guys go? I wanna come too!"
In Angie's mind, Mommy should always take her along, especially when Mr. Judson was there. She always felt so happy to see him because he and the boys looked so alike; they seemed like a real family.

Eula's eyes widened slightly, realizing that the kids hadn't come to her because he had already informed them.
She was starting to see that Judson was a man of principles.
She had forgotten to tell her sons she wouldn't be home last night; they expected her by ten, or they'd start to worry.
Her mind had been entirely on finding Elbert Hicks, and she'd forgotten about the three kids back home.
Eula's heart warmed at the thought. She had to admit, Judson truly deserved his success.

"We just went to the suburbs. It was too late, so I didn't come back. Angie, mommy’s business trips are for work, so I can't take you with me."
Angie nodded, "Oh, okay! Can we have dinner with Mr. Judson sometime, then? I miss him."
She hadn't seen him in so long and really missed him!

Eula glanced at Angie in the rearview mirror, her big, bright eyes filled with longing.
She hadn't realized Angie and Judson had grown so close.
Rodolfo spoke up, "Mom, we both think Mr. Judson is great. You should date him."
They had discussed it; the man was clearly decent, with a good heart.
And whenever Mom came home late, he helped explain. They approved of him.
Having a man like that to help care for Mom and love her was something they were open to.

Eula almost mistook the brake for the accelerator. How could her boys be so forward?
Angie tumbled under the seat, then clambered back.
"Eula, can you avoid the sudden stops? You nearly squished me."
Dewitt and Rodolfo stretched out their hands to shield Angie from another fall.
Eula gave an embarrassed chuckle, "Alright, I'll drive more carefully. But for the record, there's nothing romantic between Mr. Judson and me. He's my boss, and I work for his company. That's why we're in touch. But there's nothing else going on, and dating is out of the question."
