Chapter 309 Warning
Eula saw something in Judson she never thought she'd see—doubt.
"A guy like Judson, who could snap his fingers and get whatever he wanted, looking all unsure? What was up with that? Was he scared she'd bail on him?"
Eula's heart clenched, and she threw herself into his arms, hugging him tight.
She didn't get what was going on with Judson, like why his folks weren't around. But she wanted him to know she wasn't going anywhere. As long as he wanted her, she'd stick by him, no matter what.
Judson shut his eyes and held her close, his voice barely a whisper.
"Eula, I'll never let you go, you're mine forever."
They clung to each other like they were making some unspoken promise.
When the crowd around them finally thinned out, Judson let go and led her toward the town.
The lake breeze was cool, but their hearts were warm.
After a half-hour walk, they got back to the hotel. Judson grabbed the key card from the front desk and took Eula to their lake-view room.
Inside, Eula dashed to the floor-to-ceiling window, grinning like a kid at the sight of the lake.
"Judson, this place is amazing!"
Judson slipped into some comfy slippers and handed her a pair.
"Change into these."
She'd been in heels all day, and her feet had to be killing her. Slippers would be a relief.
Eula kicked off her heels, slipped on the slippers, and grabbed Judson's hand.
"Judson, this place is so beautiful! I've never been here before. Next time, let's bring the kids here!"
She'd never taken the kids on a trip before. They used to be broke, but now she wanted to make it up to them.
Judson looked out at the lake, "Sure thing."
He was already thinking about having a kid of their own after they got hitched.
"Alright!"
Judson checked the time, "It's late. Go take a shower and get some rest."
Eula snapped back to reality and sneaked a glance at him.
Knowing what was coming later, she felt a mix of excitement and nerves.
Even though she had kids, she was still inexperienced and worried she might mess up.
She thought about it but was too shy to say anything.
Eula slipped out of his grasp and pointed to the bathroom.
"I'm gonna take a shower."
Then she bolted to the main bedroom. Judson watched her close the door, chuckled, and headed to the second bedroom to shower.
Over at Starry Villa, Dewitt and Rodolfo were sitting on their little beds.
Dewitt crossed his arms, squinting his bright black eyes.
"Rodolfo, you think Mom turned off her phone on purpose?"
"Mom must be with Judson and didn't want us to call her back. She's really changed, getting all bold."
Rodolfo grinned, "Dewitt, I bet Judson put her up to it."
In their minds, Eula would never turn off her phone and ignore their calls. It had to be Judson's idea.
The more they thought about it, the madder they got. Their eyes met.
Then they leaned in, "How about we hack his phone and give him a little scare?"
Judson finished his shower, changed into pajamas, and picked up his phone.
He noticed something was off. His fingers flew over the screen, dealing with the hacker attack.
Just as he was about to hit the confirm button to fix his phone, a video popped up—it was Dewitt and Rodolfo.
"Judson, if you're seeing this, it means you passed the test to watch this video."
