Chapter 423 You Have to Live
Elbert was stunned. He wasn't in excruciating pain; he looked like he was on the brink, which was why he was rushing him to the hospital.
At this moment, his steps were steady, and his voice was deep and strong, not showing any signs of discomfort.
Indeed, when a man faced his woman, no amount of pain was worth mentioning.
He quickly caught up, "Judson, stop it. Her wound is fine. We're going to the hospital. What if something happens to you? What about Eula?"
Elbert now understood Judson's feelings the most because he also had a woman now and was no longer single.
So, with just one sentence, he had him firmly in check, and he stopped.
"I won't die, will I?"
But he wasn't sure; the pain was too much. He was the kind of man who wouldn't make a sound even if a knife was stuck in his flesh.
But this time, the headache was unbearable.
Elbert grabbed his hand, "I'll support you, don't be stubborn.
She's really fine, Darcy is taking care of her. I'll ask about her condition for you. You go get an X-ray first to see if the bullet has shifted.
If everything's fine, you can see her then, wouldn't that be better?"
Judson squinted slightly, "Alright, let's get the X-ray first."
Due to the anesthesia, Eula was drowsy and fell asleep.
Until Francis came over to re-examine her, did some simple checks, and confirmed she was fine.
Darcy had already changed clothes, her hair down, and sat next to Eula. She pulled the blanket over her, afraid she might catch a cold. "Eula, feeling better?"
Eula's wound started to hurt at this moment, and she frowned. "It hurts."
Her little face looked pale, with a pitiful expression.
Darcy hugged her, "Hang in there, it'll be better in a few days."
Darcy knew, Eula had been afraid of pain since she was a child; even a small wound could make her howl.
Francis couldn't help but laugh seeing the two of them like this. "You two have a great relationship."
Darcy then looked at him, "Francis, thank you. It's so late, you should go rest!"
Francis nodded slightly, "I've been staying in the hospital dormitory recently, it's just behind, very close. Call me if you need anything, I'll come quickly."
Francis's long, clean fingers pushed his glasses, his eyes clear and bright.
Darcy nodded, "Okay."
Francis left, and Eula sighed. "Darcy, do you like him?"
Darcy's eyes were a bit lost. "I used to, not anymore."
Now she felt unworthy of him. He had always been single, clean, and she had married a douchebag, and now was with Elbert every day. She didn't want to taint him.
Especially seeing his clear and clean eyes, she didn't want to harm him even more.
Eula didn't believe it and sighed deeply. "Darcy, it's all for Estelle. Otherwise, if you were with Dr. Dixon, you would definitely be very happy."
Such a man, attentive and gentle. Good-looking and caring, she really wanted to match them up!
At this moment, Darcy's phone rang. She saw it was Elbert's call, so she patted Eula's shoulder. "Sit for a while, I'll take a call."
She got up and went to the bathroom, answering the call. "Elbert."
"How's Eula?"
Judson had already gotten the X-ray, waiting for the results in the ward. The nurse was taking his blood pressure and doing an EKG.
Elbert knew he was anxious, so he called Darcy and put it on speaker.
"Eula is awake. Francis said she's fine, just needs to come back next week to change the dressing."
Elbert gave Judson a reassuring look.
Judson spoke, his voice deep and magnetic. "Darcy, tell her to wait for me. I'll be there to pick her up."
