Chapter 340 He Wants to Be Discharged

The other possibility? He didn't even wanna think about it, couldn't handle it.

How could a dude like Judson ever have a day like this?

Hugo just couldn't wrap his head around it. In his mind, a guy like Judson was supposed to live forever.

Judson slowly looked over, his face totally blank, and said all cool-like, "Don't tell her, and don't freak her out either."

Eula was a crier, and he hated seeing her cry. He just wanted her to be all smiles, happy and carefree!

Hugo sighed, "If, and I mean if, you can't make it through, what's she gonna do?"

Hearing this, Judson's face finally showed a flicker of emotion, his brow furrowing a bit. "I'll do my best to stick around."

He had zero experience with this kinda stuff. Even though it sounded pretty grim, like he might not have much time left, he believed that if he was determined enough, he'd pull through.

Judson was just that sure of himself. In his world, he could do anything.

Even when it came to messing with fate, he thought he could handle it.

Hugo grinned. Seeing Judson so confident made him feel good.

As a doc, he loved patients who had that kind of confidence. He'd do everything he could to make sure nothing bad happened to him.

Just then, the door to the room swung open, and Eula walked in with an imaging bag. "Hugo, check this out, is this X-ray okay?"

Compared to his condition two weeks ago, Judson looked significantly better.

He was getting better bit by bit. He was fine, improving, and she was stoked.

She hoped he'd get so well that there'd be no issues, that he could leave the hospital like a regular person, live his life, and be the CEO of the Nash Group.

Hugo took the X-ray, glanced at it quickly, and it was the same as before. The bullet was still in the same spot, not moving, which was a good sign.

He finished looking and then glanced at the hospital bed.

Judson, in his blue and white striped hospital gown, was focused on his computer, his long fingers gliding over it.

Eula poured him a glass of water and said softly, "Drink some water, don't overdo it, does your head still hurt?"

Hugo couldn't help but chuckle, feeling a bit jealous of Judson!

He stood up. "I got another surgery to get to, gotta bounce."

He was about to leave with the X-ray when Eula called out, "Hugo, how's the X-ray? Is the wound in his head healing up?"

Judson's cool gaze drifted towards Hugo, and Hugo smiled. "It's healing up nicely."

Lying through his teeth, he had to pair it with a smile, which was upsetting and awkward.

He felt heartbroken for Judson. 'Man, if it were me, I'd probably hide it from my girl and my family too.'

Eula heard this and finally felt relieved. "Thanks!"

A sweet smile spread across her face, and Judson asked, "When can I get outta here?"

Lately, he'd been working from the hospital, with tons of stuff needing his attention. Being stuck in the hospital was a pain, and he hated it.

If it weren't for Eula being there with him, he might've insisted on leaving a long time ago.

Hugo frowned. "Judson, stay a bit longer, alright?"

The gunshot wound to his head was a serious matter. Staying in the hospital meant if anything went wrong, they could handle it right away.

"No, let me out as soon as possible. The wound's scabbed over, and it doesn't mess with my life."

His wound now only had a band-aid on it. That day, they just did emergency treatment and stopped the bleeding, no surgery, so the wound was just a small spot where the bullet went in, stitched up with two stitches, and it healed pretty quick.

Hugo's face darkened more. "Judson, can't you listen to me just this once?"

Eula looked at their faces and tried to persuade him, "Judson, let's listen to the doc and stay a bit longer, okay?"
