Chapter 402 Lies
"Stay home and be good."
After saying that, he hung up. Just then, his phone rang again.
Judson glanced at the conference room; he still needed to continue this meeting. "Grandma, what's the matter?"
"Judson, something's wrong. Your grandpa is missing."
Judson's frown deepened. "Have the butler check the surveillance cameras to see if any outsiders came in."
How could this be so coincidental? Angie was missing, and now Robert was missing too.
He had a bad feeling that these two incidents might be related.
"We checked, but the internet at home has been down since yesterday, so the surveillance cameras aren't working."
Such a coincidence, it must be intentional.
In fact, Eula had her son hack their home's internet to prevent the elderly from seeing the news.
Judson held his phone, dialed a number, and gave some instructions.
After finishing, he checked the time; he needed to wrap up this meeting quickly.
Darcy drove to the kindergarten. She parked in front of the school and looked at Eula, who was still in a panic, tears streaming down her face.
"Eula, are you okay?"
The school was also responsible for this. How could they just hand over a child without asking?
Darcy was more outspoken, so they were definitely going to make a scene and get the school to help find Angie.
Eula took a deep breath, wiped away her tears, and got out of the car.
The two walked quickly towards the school. In the principal's office, Dewitt and Rodolfo were sitting there. When they saw Eula, they stood up. "Mommy, you're finally here."
They needed a computer and a phone, but those were at home. They had to go back quickly to track down Angie's whereabouts. They pulled her along. "Mommy, let's go home first."
As soon as Darcy entered, she started arguing with the principal. "What's wrong with you people? Can just anyone take a child away? If something happens to Angie, can you take responsibility?"
The principal remained calm. "It was our oversight, but the teacher did call Angie's mom, but there was no answer. So, Angie confirmed it herself. She said it was her aunt, and they were going to see her sick great-grandfather."
Eula looked through her phone and saw several missed calls. She must have been driving at the time and didn't hear them.
"Principal, is this the teacher's number?" Eula asked.
The principal glanced at it and compared it with the number saved in her phone.
"Yes, that's it, Ms. Lowe. So, this is partly your responsibility too."
Darcy was unhappy. "We have some responsibility, but the biggest responsibility is yours. From now on, no matter who comes to pick up a child, you can't just hand them over easily."
The principal kept apologizing. "We've called the cops, and they are looking for her too."
Eula was a bit dazed. She hadn't answered the phone; it was her fault for not hearing it.
Dewitt frowned slightly. "Mommy, let's go home first. Then you can call and ask if great-grandfather is really sick. Maybe Angie is at the hospital with him!"
Eula finally had some direction. "Yes, I will call grandpa, then find Kristina. Once we find her, we'll know where Angie is."
They left the school, and Darcy drove.
Eula sat in the passenger seat, holding her phone, waiting for the other side to pick up.
"Grandpa, it's Eula." Her voice was tearful and urgent.
"Eula, what's wrong?"
Hearing David's voice, Eula became even more unsettled.
"Grandpa, are you sick and in the hospital?"
"No, I'm fine. Why would I be in the hospital? Who told you that? It's not true. Don't cry, I'm in good health!"
