Chapter 155 The Truth
Judson's brow furrowed, and he called out urgently.
"Get the doctor quick, Grandpa Nash has fainted."
His mood hit rock bottom. If John couldn't handle a statement like that, what would happen if Judson declared he wouldn't marry Kristina but choose Eula instead? Would the shock be too much for him?
Eula drove towards home, her emotions a tangled web.
She couldn't believe she actually felt something tonight, especially when thoughts of Judson made her shake her head in denial.
She didn't want to be like Melissa, and even though she detested Kristina and her crowd, the last thing she wanted was to be a home wrecker. No way.
When Angie spotted the sign for the cancer treatment center, she exclaimed, "Eula, it's been ages since we've seen Estelle. Should we go up and visit?"
It was only then that Eula realized where they were.
It's not a good idea to get lost in thought while driving. She agreed with a nod.
"Sure, let's go check in on Estelle."
Eula made a U-turn and pulled into the hospital's underground parking lot. They headed toward the elevator and made their way to the inpatient ward, then into Estelle's room.
Estelle, who hadn't slept yet, sat up with joy at the sight of them.
"Angie, did you come to see me? I've missed you guys so much!"
Eula and Angie gathered around the bed, chatting with Estelle, who looked exceptionally happy.
Eula was surprised to see Darcy was also there. Darcy stood up and approached her.
"Darcy, you're not at work tonight?"
She smiled weakly. “I'm feeling under the weather, so I took the night off."
Eula was concerned. "What's wrong?"
Darcy guided her to the side and secretly pulled down her collar.
"Right here. It's so uncomfortable I can't even wear clothes without feeling pain, so I'm taking a day to rest."
Eula's eyes widened a bit. "Oh, you've got an allergy, too?"
She hurriedly rummaged through her bag. Inside, she had effective medicine given by a doctor Judson had consulted previously; it really worked, healing her in just a few days.
"Darcy, this medicine really works. I had the same thing not long ago, a huge rash, it hurt even to get dressed. I used this cream."
Darcy paused, then burst into laughter, reaching out to touch Eula's face.
"Who did this to you? Judson?"
Eula was still confused. "How did you know? I just had some drinks with him and then had this allergic reaction to alcohol. It's not really his fault."
Darcy laughed heartily, "An allergic reaction to alcohol?"
"Yeah! But wait, you wouldn't have an allergy to alcohol, right?"
Darcy laughed so hard, she had to hold her stomach, wrapping her arm around Eula.
"Eula, how can you be so naive? But Judson, oh, he's got quite the scheming side," Darcy remarked with a smirk, sending a shiver down Eula's spine.
"Darcy, if you've got something to say, just say it. That smirk is giving me the chills," Eula replied uneasily.
Leaning closer, Darcy whispered an explanation into Eula's ear.
Eula's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as her eyes widened in shock. "Are you serious? That... that Judson, what an absolute jerk!" Without thinking, she let out an expletive, and Darcy couldn't help but tease her.
"With your figure, I bet he was more than pleased."
Eula felt so shocked she thought she might faint . She truly couldn't fathom that a man could be so vile. That night, she'd had too much to drink and couldn't remember what had transpired afterward. She was furious, seething with anger. Yet, almost immediately, she had a thought.
"Darcy, what about you? Who were you with?"
Darcy might work nights at the club, but Eula knew she always kept things clean. Unless Darcy wanted it, no one could lay a finger on her.
