Chapter 82 Explanation

Eula did not intend to hand the desserts over to Kristina, so she pretended as though she did not hear Kristina.

Upon seeing Eula’s indifference, Kristina naturally understood the former’s thoughts. She kicked the back of Eula’s seat nonchalantly and asked, “Eula, did you hear me? Judson got them from me.”

At the same time, Kristina was now confident that Eula was just Judson’s secretary and nothing more than that.

Judson looked at Kristina coldly, slightly irritated by the kick. However, when he looked back and saw that Eula was clearly upset, he could not help but say, “Miss Lowe, they’re for my grandfather. Can you hand them over now?”

His grandfather had regained consciousness. For this reason, he had called Kristina over so they could head to the Nash family house together.

Upon hearing this, realization finally dawned on Eula, and she let out an, “Oh.”

...

An hour and a half later.

The car pulled into the Nash residence, and the driver quickly hopped out, opening the door for Judson with practiced ease.

Eula got out of the car as well. Under normal circumstances, she would open the door for the lady of the house. However, seeing that the other party was Kristina, she was very reluctant to do so. She decided in a huff that there was no way she would open the door for Kristina.

Instead, Eula approached Judson. She held the desserts up and shook the box before his eyes as she said, “Here you go. Can I get off work now? Now that you’re home with your fiancée, I should return to my kids as well.”

Judson frowned as he looked at Eula. He had not seen her for a week, so he had called her over to the airport earlier. He did not understand the expression on her face. It seemed as though seeing him was the last thing she wanted. He raised an eyebrow as he asked in a low voice, “Miss Lowe, are you perhaps looking for a career change?”

Upon hearing this, alarm bells went off in Eula’s mind. She quickly plastered a smile on her face and said ingratiatingly “Judson, this job is perfect for me. Do you have any further instructions? Please don’t hesitate to tell me.”

Despite her words, Eula cursed inwardly, ‘Cheapskate! Just because my salary is a little higher than others, must he find ways to fire me every day?’

On the contrary, upon seeing Eula’s smile, Judson’s expression softened. He nodded at her slightly before he said, “My grandfather regained consciousness today. This calls for celebration. Grandma insisted that you stay for dinner.”

Eula nodded in agreement. She was aware that Judson’s grandfather had been sick for years. Indeed, the occasion called for celebration.

Meanwhile, Kristina had been waiting awkwardly for someone to open the car door for her. After a while, seeing that no one had stepped forward to help her, she grudgingly pushed the door open. As soon as she got out, she snapped at Eula, asking, Eula, why didn’t you open the door for me?”

After all, this was part of Eula’s duties as Judson’s secretary. Moreover, Kristina was the fiancée of Eula’s boss. In Kristina’s opinion, it was only natural for Eula to treat her well.

Eula looked at Kristina briefly before she said coldly, “I apologize, but Judson needed to speak to me earlier. Moreover, you can open the door on your own, right? Or did you break your hand?”

Upon hearing Eula’s words, Kristina almost lost her temper. She had to restrain her urge to curse out loud.

Eula only raised an eyebrow before she said to Judson, “Judson, I’ll head in first to see Grandma Nash.”

Meanwhile, Kristina walked toward Judson, her hip swaying gently from side to side. She said, ”Judson, did you see that? Do you think her behavior is appropriate for a secretary?”

Judson looked at Kristina indifferently as he said, “Just fulfill your obligations as we’ve agreed upon. Don’t worry about the rest.”

After saying that, Judson strode purposefully up the steps with his long legs.
