Chapter 195 She Is His Lover

Upon entering the office the following day, Eula immediately sank into her chair, a clear indication of her unwillingness to engage in any form of movement. The night before, she had hurried home, yet she was still a frustrating ten minutes late. Her two sons had roused her from sleep at the ungodly hour of 5:30 a.m., sandbags tied to her legs, and dragged her out for a run. They had covered a distance of five miles, leaving her calves aching and her energy reserves depleted. It had been a while since she had been subjected to such a rigorous training regimen. The last time she had experienced something similar was when Geoffrey had pushed her to her limits. In the early days of her career, Geoffrey had been concerned about her well-being and had insisted she learn taekwondo. Due to her low stamina, he had also suggested she incorporate a regular morning run into her routine. Their two sons, quick learners that they were, had adopted this method as a form of punishment whenever she returned home late.Judson, noticing Eula's dramatic entrance and subsequent collapse into her chair, looked up from the mountain of documents on his desk. "Eula, I need a cup of coffee," he requested.Eula, in response, abruptly stood up, her brows furrowed in a clear display of her irritation. Judson, observing her, thought to himself, 'She seems to be in a foul mood. Could it be her period?' But he quickly dismissed the thought. He was aware of her cycle, and it had only been a week since her last period. He knew that when her period started, she would usually clutch a hot water bag to alleviate the pain, her mood souring considerably. She had even gone as far as smashing two coffee cups and snapping at him. She was known for her fiery temper. Judson, however, had always been patient with her, tolerating her mood swings and attributing them to her period. He found himself wondering why Eula was in such a bad mood that day, looking particularly worn out.Eula, still shaking slightly, made her way to the break room and brewed Judson's favorite coffee. After adding a dash of milk, she placed the cup in front of him. "Mr. Nash, here's your coffee," she said, her beautiful eyes squinting slightly as if recalling something.

"Mr. Nash, it is 9:30. You have a video conference. Don't forget," she added hastily before retreating to her desk, a sense of relief washing over her.She then proceeded to tackle her workload, occasionally fielding calls intended for Judson. She would screen the calls before transferring them to him. After concluding the video conference, Judson glanced around the office and noticed that Eula had succumbed to sleep, her head resting on her desk. His gaze softened as he approached her, draping his coat over her. He found himself wishing he could carry her to the lounge for a nap, but knowing how alert Eula was, he was certain she would wake up at the slightest touch. The office was comfortably warm, thanks to the continuous flow of warm air. He glanced at her desk, always kept immaculately clean, and noticed her open notebook. She had two training sessions scheduled for 7:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday. Judson made a mental note of this; she was working so hard, and he didn't want to be an obstacle in her path.Just then, Winnien, the head of the secretary's office, entered the room and caught sight of Judson draping his coat over Eula. Her eyes widened in surprise. Despite the circulating rumors that Judson had abandoned Eula, she had chosen to remain. It seemed now that everyone had misunderstood the situation.Judson's concerned expression was something Winnien had never seen in the three years she had known him. She stood there, rooted to the spot, until his icy gaze snapped her out of her daze. "Mr. Nash, Eula called me earlier. She wanted to remind you to try on your wedding suit today," she said. Judson's engagement party was only three days away, yet he hadn't even tried on his suit. It was as if he didn't care at all. Judson signaled for her to be quiet, and Winnien quickly clamped her mouth shut. He gestured for her to leave, and Winnien understood that he didn't want her to disturb his sleeping lover. That was Winnien's current train of thought. She was convinced that Judson cherished Eula deeply. She exited the room, closing the door gently behind her, her hand lightly patting her chest. She was certain that if she had woken Eula, she would have been fired on the spot.At that moment, Myles approached her and asked, "Winnien, is Mr. Nash in?"
