Chapter 413 He Broke His Promise

Eula had lost her appetite and was pacing in the living room, waiting for him to ring the doorbell. She wanted to open the door for him herself.

Ten minutes passed, and he still hadn't arrived.

Eula was getting anxious and thought about calling again, but she had already agreed not to rush him.

Dewitt came out of the dining room, his small, upright figure walking over to her. "Mommy, it's time to eat."

Eula finally looked up and forced a smile. "Oh, let's eat."

Dewitt was a very smart child and naturally noticed her anxiety. "Mommy, if he's going to come, he'll come eventually. You don't need to wait here."

Dewitt's words suddenly made her realize he was right.

If he was really going to come, she wouldn't need to wait here; he would show up on his own.

If he had no intention of coming, then waiting all night would be pointless.

Eula stood up and followed him into the dining room. Angie was munching on her favorite chicken wings, her little mouth greasy.

She looked at Eula, "Mommy, come eat, it's really good!"

As long as she had her favorite chicken wings, she thought it was the best food in the world.

Seeing Angie's innocent smile and her two sons' handsome little faces, her mood instantly improved.

Darcy served her some food, "I haven't had Mary's cooking like this in a long time. It's such a treat!"

Mary smiled and served her some more food. "If you like it, eat more."

Usually, when Darcy was at the hospital with Estelle, she probably didn't eat or sleep well.

But recently, she looked much better, not as haggard as before.

It was hard for a woman to manage well alone with a sick child.

Mary felt sorry for her, so she kept serving her food.

Darcy laughed, "Mary, it's overflowing."

Looking at the mountain of food on her plate, did she really eat that much?

Although she said that, she was actually very happy, knowing that Mary cared about her. It felt good to be cared for!

Eula also served her some food, "Eat more, you won't gain weight anyway."

Darcy shrugged, "Alright."

The meal lasted two hours, and the three kids went out to play after they finished eating.

Eula kept eating slowly, waiting for Judson, but even after the table was cleared and Mary had finished washing the dishes, Judson still hadn't shown up. Eula's face visibly darkened.

Darcy picked up a piece of fruit and fed it to her. "He didn't come. Is he still mad?"

Eula shook her head, "I don't know! He seemed happy on the phone earlier. But now he's not coming. How can I not be disappointed?"

With a piece of fruit in her mouth, Eula chewed and then took out her phone to send him a message on Facebook.

Eula: [Judson, are you not coming? We've already finished dinner.]

After sending it, she deliberately buried her phone under a cushion, not wanting to keep checking it.

Darcy leaned back on the sofa, eating fruit and watching TV. "Eula, your house is really comfortable. When Estelle gets out of the hospital, can I really move in?"

Eula was also eating fruit and glanced at her. "Pick between the sixth and seventh buildings next door. That way, it'll be convenient for us to meet. Especially when Estelle wants to play with the three kids, it'll be easier."

Thinking about becoming neighbors, it seemed like a great idea. They could look out for each other, and the kids would have playmates.

But five minutes passed, and the phone was still silent. Ten minutes passed, and still nothing.

Eula grabbed her phone and checked it again, then decided to call.

The phone rang for a long time before it was answered, "Hello."

A woman's voice came through, and Eula's eyes widened slightly.
