Chapter 200 Everyone Loves Eula

Eula was momentarily taken aback. "Are you suggesting we attend Judson's engagement party?" she asked. The event was set for Saturday, a grand affair uniting two influential families. It was the talk of the town, and as such, the majority of the elite were expected to be in attendance. The Hopkins family, being the city's second most prominent, was naturally among the invitees.

Geoffrey, aware that he couldn't mislead her, simply nodded in affirmation. "Eula, please don't turn me down," he pleaded. He was impeccably dressed in a crisp white suit, his eyes twinkling with a hopeful smile as he gazed at her.

Eula pondered for a moment. She was well aware that Geoffrey's mother would be livid if she attended. She had previously offered Eula a significant sum to sever ties with her son. Eula could empathize with the woman's perspective. After all, no mother would willingly accept her son marrying a woman who already had children. Eula knew she would have made the same decision in her shoes.

This understanding made Geoffrey's mother's stance more bearable. Geoffrey held a special place in Eula's heart, having saved her life in the past. "Alright," she finally conceded, reasoning that the worst she could face was a few icy glares from his mother. She was indifferent to such trivial matters.

Geoffrey chuckled, reaching out to affectionately pat her head. "Thank you," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.

Just then, Mary entered the living room, catching the tail end of their exchange. A flicker of worry crossed her face as she deliberated whether to inform Judson of the development. Judson had been generous to her, and she had noticed his kindness towards Eula.

Eula and Geoffrey's relationship spanned many years, and Mary was of the opinion that if they were destined to be together, they would have been by now. She was inclined to believe that Judson was a more suitable match for Eula.

As she reached for her phone to message Judson, it was abruptly snatched from her grasp. Dewitt scanned the message on the screen, confirming his and Rodolfo's suspicion that Mary was colluding with Judson.

Mary: [Mr. Nash and Eula returned with Mr. Hopkins tonight and engaged in friendly conversation! Why don't you come over? Dewitt and Rodolfo prepared dinner, and it's quite delicious. You should come and try it.]

Dewitt deleted the message, a faint smirk playing on his lips. He had no intention of giving Judson the opportunity to partake in their meal. He'd sooner offer it to a beggar.

His usually stern expression hardened further. "Mary, you are forbidden from sending any more messages to that man. Do you understand?" Despite his youth, Dewitt exuded an air of authority that was intimidating.

Mary was taken aback, having never seen this side of Dewitt before. She began to question if the Dewitt she knew was truly the same person.

Dewitt gestured for Mary to follow him. "I have something to discuss with you," he said, leading her out of the living room and into the kitchen.

In the kitchen, Rodolfo had just finished preparing the final dish. A smile danced on his lips as he carried the plate to the dining table. "Dewitt, was my hunch correct?" he asked.

Dewitt nodded, motioning for Mary to take a seat. She complied, still in a state of confusion.

Rodolfo's smile remained as he reassured her, "Mary, there's no need to be afraid. We're not blaming you. We simply want to inform you that Judson is set to be engaged to Kristina from the Lowe family this Saturday. It's been widely reported in the entertainment news. He's not a suitable match for our Mommy."

Mary found Rodolfo's demeanor to be as warm and approachable as ever. She nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "Is it true that Mr. Nash is getting engaged to someone else?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Dewitt crossed his arms over his chest, responding coldly, "Yes."

The revelation shocked Mary, and she finally understood the boys' unusual behavior. She declared resolutely, "Alright, from now on, I won't accept any more money from him, no matter how much he offers. How dare he mistreat Eula? He can't get away with this."

Mary's indignation seemed to surpass even that of Dewitt and Rodolfo. After exchanging a glance with Dewitt, Rodolfo gently patted Mary on the back. "Mary, try to calm down. You don't want to raise your blood pressure."
