Chapter 418 Love is So Bitter

"Darcy, you're getting better at lying." Elbert said coldly.

Darcy looked up to see that handsome, bronzed face. His expression was cold, his eyebrows sharp, and his chiseled features made him seem even more steely.

Elbert was a soldier, so his entire demeanor was as hard as steel, including his temper.

Darcy's hand holding the phone slowly dropped, and she said indifferently, "If you don't believe me, go see for yourself. But don't tell Judson. Eula got hurt because of him. Keep him away from her in the future."

A faint smile appeared on Elbert's otherwise stern face. "Eula is really in there?"

He lowered his head and kissed her hard on the lips, dominantly and forcefully.

Then he pulled her into his arms and led her into Francis's office.

Darcy struggled. "Let go of me. I don't want people to think we have a close relationship."

Even though they did have a close relationship, it was just an agreement. Once Estelle got better, they would have nothing to do with each other.

Elbert snorted coldly. "Darcy, don't forget, you're the one asking for my help. Until I'm done with you, you have no freedom."

The thought of Francis, that gigolo, made him angry.

Darcy was tough with everyone else, but when it came to Francis, she was so gentle, like a tiger turning into a bunny, which annoyed him.

In the office, Eula's wound had already been treated, and she was awake. "Dr. Dixon, thank you!"

Francis took off his gloves and walked to the sink to wash his hands meticulously, clearly showing his germophobia.

"Ms. Lowe, you're Darcy's friend, which makes you my friend. No need to thank me." His voice was low and deep, his face expressionless, and his tone distant. Yet, such a doctor was hard to forget.

Eula thought he was very handsome. No wonder Darcy always talked about him; she couldn't forget him either!

Darcy pushed Elbert away and walked to Eula's side. "Eula, how are you?"

"The anesthesia hasn't worn off, so it doesn't hurt." Eula tried to smile to reassure her, but her heart hurt too much to manage it.

Elbert sat on the sofa, glancing disdainfully at Francis, who had his back to them while washing his hands.

"Eula, what did Judson do to you? Did you get hurt?" Elbert asked.

Eula panicked a bit when she saw Elbert. She looked at Darcy, asking why he was there.

Darcy quickly hugged her shoulders, comforting her. "He won't tell Judson, don't worry."

She then gave Elbert a warning look. Elbert would naturally listen to her; after all, Darcy was hard to deal with when she was angry.

His happy life had just begun, and he didn't want it ruined by Judson's issues.

After all, Darcy was incredibly attractive, especially with her hot body and open-mindedness.

Thinking of this, he felt a desire rising again.

His smile turned increasingly wicked, especially when he looked at Darcy.

Darcy immediately understood his expression and glared at him coldly, telling him to behave.

Francis finished washing his hands and walked over. "Darcy, Ms. Lowe is fine. Just come back in a week to change the dressing. It won't leave a scar."

The wound was small, only requiring one stitch.

Darcy smiled. "Francis, thank you!"

They exchanged a smile, creating a beautiful moment. Eula thought the scene was annoyingly perfect, reminding her of Judson.

She sighed. These two definitely had feelings for each other.

But looking at Elbert and Darcy, she wasn't sure what would happen between them.

Indeed, people were powerless in the face of emotions, just like her. She liked Judson.

But Judson might not be hers. It was so complicated!
