Chapter 108 No Possibility of Ghosts!
Outside the abandoned steel plant in Houston, Andy and Henry were running naked!
The two had already run more than 300 meters away.
Before coming, Andy had specifically checked the map on his phone.
This abandoned steel plant happened to be a perfect square with a side length of 500 meters, leading to a total of 2000 meters for one round.
Based on his speed, he estimated that it would take him about ten minutes to finish.
Actually, before coming, he was quite worried and fearful.
But at this moment, the path was clear, and there was no one else except for him and Henry.
Embarrassment? It didn't exist!
Haunted? Ridiculous talk!
Moreover, for some reason, running in this manner gave him a feeling of complete relaxation and closeness to nature.
But there were two drawbacks.
First, it was "a bit" cold!
Second, it hurt when "bouncing"!
At this moment, Henry pointed forward and said, "What's that light in the front?"
Andy followed his gaze.
They saw a bright, flickering light about 50 meters ahead.
"The color is a bit green. Is it fire?"
Henry suddenly shouted, "Oh my god! Could it be a ghost?"
Andy was startled by his shout. "Why do you panic like that? There's no such thing as ghosts in this world! You're scaring yourself!"
Although he said that, Andy's running speed slowed down.
Nervously, Henry swallowed and suggested, "Should we go back?"
"Go back and wait to be laughed at by that loser Ryder? No way!"
Andy couldn't embarrass himself in front of Ryder again by going back.
Looking around, there was only this road ahead, so they had to keep running.
"I refuse to believe that there are supernatural fireballs in this world!" Andy gritted his teeth and quickened his pace.
Reluctantly, Henry followed suit.
The two of them got closer and closer to the green flame until they ran up to it.
Only then did they realize that it was not a ghost but a person kneeling by the roadside.
It was a man. His head was lowered, making it hard to see his appearance. Layers of tattered white cloth hung on his body.
In front of him, a pile of fire was burning.
Henry let out a sigh of relief and scolded impatiently, "Why are you scaring people like that!"
Andy was annoyed too. "What an idiot! Why are you wearing these clothes? Do you know what time it is? Is this some sort of performance?"
The man ignored them and continued tilting his head, staring at the bonfire as if there was something inside.
"Damn it! Can't you hear me?" Andy was already very angry and needed to vent. He thought it was just a coincidence that they encountered a fool in the middle of the night. It wouldn't hurt to teach him a lesson!
So he went forward and pushed the man's head.
Finally, the man reacted.
He slowly lifted his head and looked at Andy and Henry, his tone emotionless as he softly asked, "What...are...you...doing..."
At this moment, the two of them finally saw his appearance!
They noticed that the man's eyes were completely white, without any trace of pupils!
Reflecting in his white irises was a burning green light. Coupled with his expressionless face, he looked extremely terrifying at this moment!
"Oh my god! A ghost!" Andy shouted in fear and jumped over the bonfire, running ahead.
"Wait for me!" Henry screamed.
Just as the two of them ran away, the man kneeling on the ground quickly took off the special glasses he was wearing.
He also took out a bucket of water hidden nearby and extinguished the bonfire.
Finally, hiding behind a pile of grass, he sent a message in the Whatsapp group: "Report! Mission accomplished!"
As for Andy and Henry, they ran for seventy to eighty meters in one breath, both shocked and frightened.
Andy asked anxiously, "Did...did that guy chase after us?"
"I dare not look!" Henry replied, shivering.
"Coward!" Andy swallowed hard and cautiously turned his head.
To his surprise, the burning bonfire had disappeared.
The man was also gone.
Just then, a gust of cold wind blew.
Andy felt goosebumps all over his body.
The only thought in his mind was to quickly leave this cursed place.
Without a second thought, he buried his head and sprinted away.
"Wait for me!" Henry called out from behind with a mournful face.
So the two of them ran for another 500 meters.
They were exhausted and out of breath.
"I can't run anymore! Let's slow down."
Henry gasped for air and suggested to Andy.
After glancing around and confirming there was no immediate danger, Andy nodded.
After all, he was exhausted too.
They went from running to walking, slowing down their speed.
The night was quiet, with only the sound of their footsteps on the road.
After a while, with a frightened expression, Henry asked, "Did we really see that man just now?"
"Shut up!" Andy shouted. "Don't bring up these groundless rumors! You're only scaring yourself!"
Henry had no choice but to remain silent, but fear still lingered in his heart.
"Meow!"
A cat's meow reached their ears.
"At this late hour, where did the cat come from?"
Andy paused and looked around, trying to spot the cat.
But after scanning the surroundings, there was no sign of it.
Could he have misheard?
Just then, a dark figure suddenly jumped down from the wall of the abandoned steel plant and landed in front of them.
Under the night sky, those glowing green eyes were fixed on them.
"What the hell?"
Andy was startled. He took several steps back.
Henry was even more frightened. He sat down on the ground and started trembling.
"Meow!"
Only when both of them focused their gaze did they realize it was a black cat.
The black cat disappeared into the darkness with a flash.
"Damn it! That stupid cat scared me! If I see you again, I'll skin you!"
Andy patted his chest, still shaken from the scare.
Henry's face was pale. He was unable to utter a word.
If he had known that they would encounter such a situation while running naked in the middle of the night, he would never have agreed to participate in the first place!
Just as the two of them finally relaxed, another dark figure sprang from the other side of the wall.
It landed on the ground.
"Damn it! It's you again, you wretched cat!"
Andy was furious. He got up and walked toward the dark figure, intending to give this fool a harsh scolding.
But when he reached the figure, he realized it wasn't a black cat.
It was a dirty doll.
Curiously, he picked up the doll.
Andy noticed that its eyes were tightly shut, and there were two lines of red liquid flowing from the corners.
It looked like blood.
The doll suddenly came alive, opening the red eyes and staring at him.
The doll's mouth opened and closed, emitting an eerie laughter. "Hahaha!"
