Chapter 518 The Bidding for the Stadium!

Three days later.

The New York City Land Management Department Hall.

Today is the day of the land auction for the Rigal District Stadium.

With an area of one million square feet, it is the largest commercial land auction of the year!

As a result, nearly a hundred companies from all over New York City have gathered to participate in the auction!

By eight in the morning, many businessmen had already gathered here.

Most of them were local businessmen from New York City, with a few from out of town.

The bidding would start in half an hour!

So, these businessmen gathered in the hall.

Some were preparing their bidding materials, while others were mingling in small groups:

"You're here too? Didn't think your company would go for this land!"

"Honestly, we've got no shot. Just here to schmooze and make connections!"

"Same here. The competition's brutal. The Youngs are in the mix—no way we're winning this one."

"Have you heard weird stuff going down at the Workers' Stadium lately? People are saying it's haunted!"

"Yeah, I heard! There was that fire at the Rigal District Stadium before, and folks died. Bad vibes all around—no surprise if there are ghosts!"

"That's creepy. A few years back, there was this haunted house demolition project. Everyone chickened out, but my buddy didn't buy it and took the job. First day on site, two guys died in an accident. Three days later, another guy bit the dust! And there was a fire in between. Not just the workers—he ended up with cancer, and the whole project got scrapped!"

"After hearing that, I'm not touching the Rigal District Stadium bid. I'm not making money just to die before I can spend it!"

By now, the whole room was buzzing about the ghostly rumors at the Rigal District Stadium!

Especially three days ago, there was news that Brandon encountered a ghost while exploring!

There was even a video circulating online!

This has made many people in New York City anxious, with many netizens expressing their opposition to the Rigal District Stadium being used for commercial purposes.

They're freaking out that the ghosts in the stadium might get riled up by the construction and start messing with people!

Even worse, no matter what kind of business they try to build here, the locals won't show up to spend a dime!

That's got some investors thinking the property's value is gonna tank, so they're not exactly jumping at the chance to bid.

Then, out of nowhere, someone in the crowd yells, "Mr. Young's here!"

Everyone cranes their necks to see the entrance.

The crowd instantly cleared a path!

Tyler walked in, suited up and rocking shades.

Behind him, a crew of Young Group employees followed, strutting in with major boss energy!

The businessmen couldn't help but gush:

"Damn, even Tyler showed up in person. The Young Group isn't messing around with this bid!"

"He's so young but already killing it. No wonder he's the heir to the Young empire—totally out of our league!"

"Calling it now—the Young Group's gonna snag the stadium today!"

Besides the hype, the room buzzed with whispers about the Young family's dominance.

In the New York City business scene, there's a golden rule.

If you want to make it big in this town, you've got two options.

Either cozy up to one of the six major families, or fly under their radar—which basically means you're asking for trouble!

So, given the chance to get close to the Young family, they wouldn't miss it!

Tyler, used to such scenes, waved them off impatiently, even scolding them to stay away!

After all, in his view, the Young family is high and mighty, and these small characters shouldn't easily get close!

They were just being a nuisance!

Despite Tyler's cold shoulder, the businessmen kept their grins plastered on.

When money's on the line, you take what you can get!

At this moment, someone outside suddenly shouted, "The Maple Group is here!"

"The Maple Group?"

Hearing that, heads snapped around.

The Maple Group, fresh on the New York scene but already packing enough punch to rival the big players, had everyone's attention.

And with the buzz about a new chairman, people were dying to know who it was!

Just then, three figures walked into the room!

Up front was Ryder, with Rex and Ashley trailing behind.

Seeing Ryder show up in person, Tyler raised an eyebrow.

He hadn't expected the chairman himself to step into the bidding ring.

But after the initial surprise, a smirk crept across his face.

He'd been planning to make the Maple Group crash and burn just to stick it to Ryder, but now that Ryder was here? This was going to be even sweeter!

Game on!

The other businessmen present were not familiar with Ryder and didn't know his identity, thinking he was just a young manager sent by the Maple Group!

So, they didn't go over to greet him like they did with Tyler!

Among the hundred or so people, only one man wearing glasses and a suit that had been washed to the point of fading stepped forward!

He handed Ryder a business card and nervously greeted, "Hello, this is my business card. Nice to meet you!"

Ryder took the business card and glanced at it!

Brent Wallace, CEO of Ascend Properties in New York City!

Ryder shook his hand and introduced himself, "Name's Clark, representing Maple Group for this bid. Looking forward to working with you!"

Brent nodded repeatedly, showing a simple and honest smile!

The surrounding businessmen rolled their eyes, and a couple of them even scoffed:

"Brent, you pulling scams again?"

"CEO of Ascend Properties? Come on, your 'company' probably has, what, three people? And you're actually trying to bid? We all know you're just here to hustle investors!"

"Get outta here! Guys like you give the NYC real estate scene a bad name!"

Brent's face flushed red at the verbal onslaught. He clenched his jaw, itching to fire back, but after a moment's hesitation, he just let out a heavy sigh and stayed silent.

Ryder caught the mix of frustration and resignation in Brent's eyes.

Looks like this guy's been through a lot!
