Chapter 27 What is The Johnson Family?
Maple Real Estate, 20th floor!
Ryder sat on the sofa and said to Sophia, "I'll transfer two million dollars to you later to donate to the Houston Leukemia Cross in the company's name!"
"Yes, Mr. Clark!" Sophia puts a material on Ryder's desk, "Mr. Clark, this is the business plan for the bidding of the building materials cooperation for our new building, please take a look!"
Ryder opened the proposal and asked while flipping through it, "What are your considerations for the bidders?"
Sophia smiled professionally and replied, "Our company has always had strict requirements on the qualifications, credibility and size of the partner! Only the Meaning Group and the Smith Group are the only two large corporations in Houston that fulfill these requirements!"
"Yes, Mr. Clark!"
The Smith Group? Ryder thought of that guy Sam, who still owed him a big sum!
Sophia continued, "Apart from these two conglomerates, there are also some small and medium-sized building material companies in Houston that barely make the cut, such as the Johnson family..."
"The Johnson family?"
Ryder paused. "Will the Johnson family also participate in this bidding?"
Sophia nodded. "Our company announced the bidding externally yesterday, and it immediately garnered widespread attention. The number of bidding spots is limited, so small-scale companies like the Johnson family will certainly fight tooth and nail to participate in this bidding!"
If the Johnson family is bidding, then the most promising one must be Andy! Ryder secretly guessed.
At this moment, Sophia's phone rang.
She answered the call, "Alright! I understand. I will ask Mr. Clark's opinion!"
Sophia turned to Ryder and said, "Mr. Clark, the security room downstairs is calling, saying that Andy from the Johnson family wants to meet and has brought a gift! Presumably, he wants to discuss the qualification for the bidding spot!"
A cold expression appeared on Ryder's face as he responded, "Tell him to get lost as far as he can!" He added, "If he doesn't leave, the security can give him a hand!"
...
Outside Maple Real Estate Building
Andy wore an incredulous expression. "What? You want me to leave! Do you know who I am?"
The head of the security team lit a cigarette, blew smoke rings, and casually replied, "Do I care who you are? I only follow our Mr. Clark's orders!"
"I am from the Johnson family in Houston, and I will be the future head of the Johnson family!" Andy said urgently. "Get that Mr. Clark of yours to come and see me!"
Hearing this, the head of the security team's face darkened. "What does the Johnson family mean? Never heard of it! Our Mr. Clark has just taken office and is busy with countless matters. Who can see him at will? My advice to you is to disappear from my sight immediately!"
Andy was used to throwing his weight around at home. When had he ever been treated like this? Especially by a mere security guard!
"I don't care! I won't leave today! I don't care what you say; I have to meet your Mr. Clark!"
He had been entrusted with great expectations by his grandmother to secure the qualification for the bidding spot. If he didn't achieve anything, how could he face her?
The head of the security team ordered his subordinates, "Mr. Clark said that if this guy doesn't leave, we can help him leave!"
The security guards exchanged smiles and pounced toward Andy.
The police baton struck Andy's abdomen, causing him to fall to the ground. The short security guard quickly followed up with a kick.
Andy cried out in pain, "Stop hitting me! I'll leave right away, isn't that enough!"
He had thought the security guard was just trying to scare him. He never expected them to actually use force! He didn't know that the captain of the security team and his two subordinates had been humiliated and forced to lick toilets by Ryder just yesterday.
A great anger had been building up inside him. He didn't dare seek revenge on Ryder, but venting it out on Andy was completely acceptable!
After a while, the security guards finally stopped and let Andy leave in a sorry state...
At the old Johnson family mansion,
Andy wiped his tears and nose, complaining, "Grandma, it's not that I'm useless, it's just that the people from Maple Real Estate are too arrogant!"
Grandpa Johnson gently patted Andy's head, sympathizing, "That's the confidence of a big company. If we want to secure a spot, we can only rely on their approval and not act impulsively!"
Abigail, who was nearby, couldn't help but feel a little satisfied, "Brother, don't you always say you've trained in Taekwondo? You couldn't beat two security guards?"
Andy felt a little guilty and hurriedly explained, "How couldn't I beat them? I knocked out the teeth of two guards! Ahem, it's just that they called in over thirty guards in the end, and that's when I got into some trouble! If it was a one-on-one fight, they wouldn't stand a chance against me!"
Abigail rolled her eyes, clearly not believing him.
"Alright, stop arguing!" Grandpa Johnson interrupted them. "The most important thing now is to secure a bidding spot at Maple Real Estate. If not, not only will we fail to choose the next successor, but the entire Johnson family will lose the opportunity to rise! Abigail, why don't you give it a try later? Maybe they'll give you a chance because you're a girl!"
Abigail stood up confidently and said, "Grandma, don't worry, with my looks, I'm sure I can use my charm to make Mr. Clark fall at my feet, and maybe even bring back a golden turtle son-in-law for you!"
Grandpa Johnson's face blossomed with a radiant smile. "Grandma will be waiting at home for good news from you!"
One hour later
The Johnson family’s house
Abigail, furious, threw the gift on the ground. "They're a bunch of thugs! Bastards..."
She had two fresh handprints on her face, her hair was disheveled, and even her dress had several dirty spots. She was in a sorry state!
Andy felt a sense of balance in his heart and asked knowingly, "Abigail, you said that Mr. Clark would fall at your feet when you mentioned the pomegranate skirt. Did he actually get so desperate that he pounced on you and dirtied your skirt?"
"Go to hell!" Abigail gritted her teeth and said to Grandpa Johnson, "Grandma, I don't want to have anything to do with them anymore. I am
In the past, dealing with those unreasonable people was truly embarrassing!" Grandpa Johnson looked at Andy again. The latter's eyes flashed with fear, shaking his head repeatedly, "Don't look at me, I don't want to go back either!"
Grandpa Johnson sighed disappointedly, "Is it true that we, the Johnson family, have no successors?"
Andy's eyes lit up as he suddenly thought of something, "Grandma, I recommend someone, Sarah! Isn't she always eager to prove herself and complaining about not having opportunities? This time, give her a chance and see what she's made of!"
Abigail quickly added, "That's right, let Sarah give it a try! What if she succeeds?" They both exchanged a smile. In their eyes, Sarah couldn't possibly succeed.
They suffered losses while vying for the bidding quota with Maple Real Estate, so they couldn't make it easy for Sarah under any circumstances. They had to make her endure more hardships and losses to feel balanced!
Seeing the two vigorously promoting Sarah, Grandpa Johnson nodded and instructed someone to call Sarah. He asked her to go to Maple Real Estate tomorrow to compete for the bidding quota.
Sarah, who knew nothing about it, thought that Grandpa Johnson suddenly had a change of heart and was giving her an opportunity. She was deeply moved and excited, eagerly accepting the invitation. She promised to do her best to secure the bidding quota!
