Chapter 302 A Troublesome Child!
Everyone was baffled by what they saw.
What was happening?
The fierce Doberman Pinscher acted like it had seen a ghost when it saw Ryder.
Michael was even more shocked.
He kicked the Doberman and yelled, "Stupid dog, what are you doing? Go bite him!"
The Doberman glanced at Ryder, then quickly backed off, curled up on the ground, and didn't move!
Michael was puzzled!
He had raised this Doberman for four or five years. It was usually very aggressive, having killed more than a dozen small dogs and bitten seven or eight people!
Only Michael could control it, and he loved showing it off.
He couldn't understand why the Doberman was scared of Ryder.
Seeing this, Ryder smirked.
The Doberman was afraid because Ryder had learned hunting skills from Dragon in the countryside.
He had encountered and hunted many wild animals in the mountains.
A mere Doberman was nothing to him.
Dragon had once shared his experience.
When facing a beast, one must stay calm, make eye contact, and show no fear.
In other words, he must intimidate the beast with his presence!
This kind of presence couldn't be developed overnight.
It came naturally after encountering and hunting many wild animals.
Michael's Doberman was just a domesticated dog, not wild, and lacked that wildness!
So when facing Ryder, the Doberman was definitely scared!
In Ryder's view, if Dragon were here, the Doberman would probably be too scared to move!
This wasn't an exaggeration.
After all, Dragon had once taken down a pack of wolves single-handedly!
After reminiscing, Ryder chuckled and said, "Your dog has chickened out. What are you going to do? Want to take a bite yourself?"
Michael felt a lump in his chest, extremely frustrated!
With his usual temper, he would have rushed up to teach Ryder a lesson!
But now that the Doberman was scared, he suspected something was off!
If he rushed in recklessly, he might suffer a big loss!
Moreover, in the busy pedestrian street, Michael didn't want to make a big scene.
So, Michael gritted his teeth, pointed at Ryder and Lily, and threatened, "Fine! You've got guts! This isn't over. If your pet store is still open in three days, I won't be a Rodriguez!"
With that, Michael led the frightened Doberman away.
The onlookers laughed and discussed.
Of course, they didn't take it seriously and soon dispersed.
As soon as the crowd left, Lily rushed forward and hugged Ryder, worried and anxious. "You scared me to death! What would I do if something happened to you?"
Ryder saw Lily's eyes were red!
She was really worried!
Ryder didn't want to explain too much, so he apologized, "I'm sorry, I was careless. I'll be more careful next time and won't make you worry!"
Lily glared at him, punched him in the chest, and pretended to be angry, "Next time?"
Ryder looked embarrassed.
Lily suddenly realized something, blushed, and quickly let go of Ryder, clearing her throat to hide her shyness. "Stop handing out flyers. There's a lot to do in the store. Come in and help!"
"Okay!"
Ryder followed Lily into the pet store.
Not far away, Charlotte saw this and shook her head helplessly.
She knew Lily felt bad for Ryder being tired from handing out flyers and found an excuse to let him come inside to cool off and rest.
But with Ryder's obliviousness, he probably wouldn't realize Lily's thoughtfulness.
So, the pet store returned to its usual busy state.
Around three in the afternoon, a woman named Olivia Wilson, wearing sunglasses and flip-flops, walked into the pet store with a six or seven-year-old boy named Ethan.
Lily immediately greeted them, "Welcome! Is there anything you're looking for?"
Olivia glanced around the store with a hint of disdain. "I didn't expect this pet store to be so trashy. It's far worse than the ones I visit in the capital."
Lily smiled awkwardly. "I'm sorry. Our store is just opened, and many things are not yet in place. We will strive to do better in the future!"
Olivia sneered and didn't say much more.
She walked around the store, occasionally making comments like how this Persian cat's lineage wasn't pure enough, this Samoyed looked sickly, and that blue British Shorthair was ugly, and so on.
In short, Olivia always had an attitude of disdain and superiority!
Hearing these comments, Lily felt uncomfortable inside.
These pets were all bought from legitimate channels, with guaranteed pedigrees and health!
They were not as bad as Olivia said!
But since Olivia was a customer, Lily couldn't argue back and could only nod and smile.
As for Ethan, he swaggered around like a little lord and stopped in front of a Golden Retriever's cage.
His eyes suddenly lit up, and he started yelling at the Golden Retriever inside, "Stupid dog! Dumb dog!"
The Golden Retriever, who was sleeping, was startled and curled up in the corner!
Ethan found it amusing and picked up a stick from the side, poking it into the cage to hit the Golden Retriever, with a mischievous smile on his face. "I'll beat you to death! Stupid dog!"
The Golden Retriever was scared and started running around inside the cage!
At that moment, Charlotte saw this!
She quickly went over and grabbed Ethan, reminding him, "Well, don't do that. It's too dangerous!"
As she spoke, Charlotte tried to take the stick from his hand.
But Ethan turned his head, glared at her, pouted, and even spat at Charlotte. "Mind your own business! Open the cage for me! Now!"
Charlotte was stunned.
She didn't expect Ethan to be so naughty!
But she still remained patient, "Kid, large pets are dangerous. We can't open the cage. Go find your mom and don't play here alone, okay?"
Ethan pouted and nodded!
Charlotte sighed in relief and let go of Ethan.
But to her surprise, as soon as she let go, Ethan suddenly kicked the cage!
He even made a face. "Stupid dog! Why don't you try to bite me?"
Before he finished speaking, the frightened Golden Retriever suddenly went berserk and lunged at him with its mouth wide open.
