Chapter 369 Is Ryder Going to Die?
Upon hearing this, Ryder's expression changed slightly. "Have they caught the hit-and-run driver?"
George sighed and shook his head. "The driver has already fled and hasn't been caught yet! Mr. Clark, what do you think?"
Ryder pondered for a moment and replied, "This incident is too coincidental; it seems like it was aimed at me!"
He didn't even have to ponder much to determine who might be targeting him.
After some thought, Ryder continued, "Let's head to the hospital right away and check on Josh's condition!"
"Yes!" George agreed.
The group quickly drove to Houston Springfield General Hospital.
At this time, Josh was in surgery.
From his subordinates, they learned that Josh's injuries were severe and potentially life-threatening.
The subordinate also mentioned that when the accident happened, Josh had fortunately turned right to avoid the impact as much as possible; otherwise, he would have died on the spot.
Ryder's pupils contracted, and he murmured softly, "Mark's retaliation is really fast!"
Josh's surgery was arranged by Ryder, who knew the director of Houston Springfield General Hospital well and secured the best doctors.
Two hours later, the surgery was over!
The chief surgeon stated that Josh was out of immediate danger but was still in a coma due to the severity of his injuries and needed to stay in the ICU.
This news brought a sigh of relief to Ryder and his group.
As long as Josh was okay!
However, as Josh was wheeled into the ICU, Ryder's mood hit rock bottom.
Josh might be a thug with little education, but he was loyal to Ryder!
He had done a lot for him!
Seeing Josh in this state because of him, Ryder felt deeply guilty!
Ryder asked George, "What has that old man Mark been up to today?"
George respectfully replied, "According to our sources, Mark attended Kenneth's funeral this morning, then returned to Elmrest River Estate and hasn't left since!"
As he spoke, George suddenly remembered something and said, "Today is Sunday, and according to Mark's usual routine, he should be going to Radiant Revive Spa tonight!"
"Why?" Ryder questioned.
"Radiant Revive Spa has an underground casino that is well-known in the circle. Every night, it attracts a lot of gamblers, especially on Sundays. Not only gamblers from Houston but also wealthy businessmen from neighboring cities come to spend money. As the owner, Mark has to be there!
Today marked the 20th anniversary of the underground casino's opening, a significant event Mark was certain to attend.
In fact, three months ago, the Davis family had already sent out invitations to notable people to attend. Kenneth's death made it seem like the Davis family had forgotten about it, but they hadn't."
A frosty gleam appeared in Ryder's eyes as he spoke coolly, "Since it's their 20th anniversary, as residents of Houston, we should make an appearance and add to the excitement. Maybe we can even bring a 'generous gift'!"
George was a bit worried. "Mr. Clark, Radiant Revive Spa is Mark's territory. If you go there, won't it be..."
Ryder smiled. "Didn't we survive a trap last night and come back just fine?"
George was still uneasy. "Mr. Clark, last night everything was meticulously planned, and we had enough leverage to gain the upper hand. If we go tonight, given Mark's nature, he won't let it go easily!"
Ryder's expression turned serious. "Mark hurt my people. If I don't seek justice, who will respect me in the future? Besides, I have some ideas!"
The Houston Estate of the Davis family.
Mark sat in Kenneth's room, staring blankly at Kenneth's photo on the table.
Since Kenneth's death, he hadn't slept a wink!
His eyes were bloodshot!
However, he didn't seem tired!
At this moment, Brian stepped into the room and respectfully said to Mark, "Mr. Davis, maybe you should rest for a while? The casino's 20th anniversary is tonight, and you need to be there to give a speech!"
Mark waved his hand. "I can hold on! What's the current situation?"
Brian respectfully replied, "Josh's surgery is over, and he's in the ICU, temporarily out of danger!"
Mark snorted coldly. "That guy actually survived the accident. He's really lucky! Any reaction from Ryder?"
Brian replied, "He's reportedly very angry and might already suspect you!"
Mark said meaningfully, "I was worried he wouldn't suspect me!"
Brian asked, puzzled, "Mr. Davis, will Ryder really come tonight? He knows this challenge is much harder than last night's!"
Mark squinted his eyes and replied calmly, "Based on last night's encounter, Ryder will definitely make a move tonight; otherwise, he wouldn't be Ryder!"
Brian nodded, his tone filled with killing intent. "This time, he won't leave alive!"
Houston was a pedestrian street!
Lily's pet shop was now packed with customers!
Since the pet store opened, it had seen a lot of customers every day, with daily sales of at least $800!
After deducting various costs, Lily estimated a monthly net income of around $10,000!
This was definitely a high income in a third or fourth-tier city like Houston!
Of course, the pet store's success was due to two key reasons!
First, the store owner, Lily, and employee Charlotte, were both beauties, attracting many people who came just to see them and ended up buying a pet!
Second, the pet store across the street had closed for some unknown reason. Rumor had it that the store's closure resulted from the owner offending a powerful figure and narrowly escaping death.
In short, this thriving small business made both Lily and Charlotte very satisfied!
They were full of enthusiasm!
Just as the two were having lunch during a lull in business, a group of seven or eight people suddenly appeared at the pet store's entrance!
Leading them was Daniel!
"Hey, ladies, remember me?" Daniel greeted Lily and Charlotte with a smile!
Lily immediately recognized him as Harper's ex-temp boyfriend, the man she had a conflict with at the Mexican restaurant last time.
Seeing that he didn't come with good intentions, Lily became wary. "What are you doing here? I warn you, this is a pedestrian street, don't think about causing trouble!"
Daniel smiled and said, "You've got it wrong! I'm a law-abiding citizen; how could I cause trouble?"
Lily said coldly, "If you have nothing to do here, please leave. You're not welcome!"
Daniel replied, "Actually, I just came to inform you of something. I'll leave after I say it!"
Lily frowned and asked, "What is it?"
A cunning look flashed in Daniel's eyes, but he kept smiling. "Ryder is about to die. Do you want to save him?"
