Chapter 60 A Pile of Stinking Dog Shit!

In the Maple Real Estate office building, tenth-floor conference room the Johnson family and the Windsor family arrived successively. They were not late but arrived five minutes early.

The Johnson family took seats in the left row with the Windsor family along the right side.

At this moment, Grandpa Johnson's anger had not yet subsided. He muttered with a stern face, "This ungrateful wolf, the Johnson family really brought this calamity upon themselves by accepting such a son-in-law!"

Andy nodded in agreement, "You're right. People like him, who have a bit of ability and yet forget gratitude, will eventually be taught a harsh lesson by me sooner or later!"

Abigail shifted the blame and pursed her lips, "I think someone must have deliberately instructed him to do this today!"

As she said that, her gaze fell onto Sarah. The implication was clear!

Matthew coldly questioned Sarah, "Was it you who instructed Ryder to block the door and demand an exorbitant price?"

Before Sarah could answer, Karen glared and angrily exclaimed, "What are you saying? How could Sarah be that kind of person? If you have any issues, go settle them with Ryder, don't frame Sarah!"

"Then how do you explain Ryder only taking our money and not yours?" Matthew persisted.

Karen slammed the table and put on a tantrum-like appearance, "It's already good enough that I'm not taking that money. How dare he ask for mine? I'll kill him!"

Matthew was momentarily speechless.

Over the years of Ryder and Sarah's marriage, Karen's treatment of Ryder had been observed by the Johnson family.

All the money earned from work was handed over without a cent left. Even the insurance compensation for Ryder's sister's recent car accident was withheld by Karen!

Ryder dared not ask Karen for money. In the end, Matthew could only suppress his anger and reluctantly sit down, plotting to find an opportunity to give Ryder a thorough beating!

This scene surprised Sarah a bit. Her mother actually stood up to speak for her and Ryder? However, this thought hadn't even been in her mind for three seconds when Karen immediately leaned towards her and quietly reminded, "Sarah, that useless Ryder just took $1.1 million! You must find a way to get all that money before your divorce! Don't leave a single cent for him!"

"Mom, this is..." Sarah looked bewildered.

Karen scolded in a low voice, "If I tell your father, I'll make sure to get that money. We must not let this bastard off easily!"

Sarah sighed and fell completely speechless.

The people from the Windsor Group sitting opposite them had even more unpleasant expressions.

Elena gritted her teeth and muttered, "Just wait, anyone who dares to provoke me in Houston will have a bad end!"

She took out her phone and sent a message in a group chat with the rich second-generation people she usually got along with, "Everyone, I was just bullied and extorted $600,000 by an unreasonable scoundrel in Houston! Asking for help!"

Immediately, there were replies in the group:

"Who dares to be so audacious and bully you like that? They're asking for death!"

"If you're in trouble, who dares not to help you? Just tell me the person's name and address, and I'll go step on their face!"

"Don't cry!"

Elena's face turned cold, and she typed, "Be prepared. I'll notify you immediately if there's any news. There's a bidding meeting soon. Let's talk later." She put down her phone and looked at Sarah with a hostile gaze. Arching her eyebrow, she sneered, "You better make your useless husband apologize quickly. Otherwise, the garbage that you managed to find your way to is probably the last chance you'll ever get to see him again!"

"I won't allow you to mock Ryder like that!" Sarah furrowed her brows in anger.

Over the years, numerous people had mocked and ridiculed Ryder in front of her, and she had never defended him because those remarks were often true but things were different now. Ryder had been surprising her lately with unexpected acts of support, and she felt grateful. And Elena, who shamelessly took pride in being the third party, continued to humiliate Sarah. Driven by some complex emotions, no matter what Elena said, Sarah found herself instinctively wanting to argue back!

"So what if I mock him?" Elena persisted. "Compared to Henry, he's trash in both looks and talent by a difference of millions. Isn't that garbage? Don't think that becoming the head of security at Maple Real Estate makes him so great! In my eyes, he's no different from a pile of dog droppings!"

Sarah felt extremely uncomfortable and was about to retort when a magnetic female voice coldly interrupted, "Who said Maple Real Estate is a pile of dog droppings?"

The door to the meeting room was pushed open, and three people walked in. Leading them was Sophia, dressed in a white professional suit and white high heels, emitting an aura of a mature and powerful woman. Behind Sophia were the high-level executives from the finance and marketing departments of Maple Real Estate.

Seeing this, the members of the Johnson family and the Windsor Group quickly stood up and showed respect on their faces.

"Sophia!"

Sophia's reputation in the Houston business community was almost known to all. To achieve the position of vice president at Maple Real Estate at such a young age was due to her formidable personal business skills, not by selling her body. This young and promising figure naturally commanded admiration.

Sophia walked straight to the middle seat in the meeting room and made a gesture to everyone, saying, "Please don't be formal, have a seat. We're here today to discuss the bidding cooperation!"

Everyone took their seats. However, after Elena sat down, she felt a bit uneasy as if she were sitting on pins and needles because the question Sophia had just asked seemed to be directed at her. The bidding hadn't even started yet, and Elena had given Sophia a bad impression due to a misunderstanding. This was unacceptable!

So Elena mustered up the courage and explained, "I need to clarify that you may have misunderstood my previous statement. I didn't mean to target Maple Real Estate at all!"

With a faint smile, the person seemed indifferent and said, "You're thinking too much. Even if it's really targeting Maple Real Estate, it's not a problem. After all, there's no perfect company in this world. Pointing out our shortcomings is also urging us to improve, it's a kind intention!"

"I..." Elena's face was full of embarrassment, not knowing how to explain.

Although Sophia seemed nonchalant, she had already developed resentment. The main point was that she was only targeting Ryder and sincerely had no intention of targeting Maple Real Estate.

After all, even if her personality was arrogant and domineering, she didn't have the courage to challenge Maple Real Estate.

This misunderstanding was indeed a big one.

Henry on the side was somewhat unhappy, furrowing his brows. This bidding cooperation meant a lot to him.

Originally, he planned to come here without Elena today, worrying that she wouldn't understand anything and cause trouble. As expected, it came true. He was contemplating on how to redeem the mistake.

Sophia had already spoken first, "Since everyone participating in the bidding is here, let's begin!"

"Hold on!" Just at this moment, a familiar voice sounded from the door.
