Chapter 61 A Piece of Advice?
Everyone turned their heads, only to find that Ryder had appeared at the door.
"Sorry! Something came up and delayed me. I arrived late!" Ryder greeted the people in the meeting room with a smile.
The Johnson family and the Windsor family's eyes widened! They thought, this bastard just won't leave us alone!
At the same time, Henry immediately realized that this was an opportunity to counterattack. His eyes shifted, he stood up, and politely smiled at Sophia, "There's something I need to report to you, if you're available?"
Sophia nodded, "Please go ahead!"
Henry's heart rejoiced and he pointed at Ryder, "The head of your company's security department actually forcefully demanded entrance fees downstairs! Asking for $100,000 from each person! I'm wondering if this is a rule set by your company or if certain individuals are abusing their power?"
Saying this, Henry stared at Ryder with a triumphant expression. He believed that telling Sophia about this matter would definitely ruin Ryder!
He secretly mouthed to Ryder: Bastard, you're finished! But to his surprise, Sophia showed no unexpected expression.
Sophia calmly replied, "Oh, I am aware of this matter. Is there anything else you want to say? If not, let's proceed with the bidding cooperation meeting!"
Henry's face was full of astonishment. This development seems off! He had imagined that Sophia would erupt in anger, make Ryder kneel and apologize in front of everyone, return the money collected, and even directly fire Ryder. Now, what is this indifferent attitude?
Feeling disgruntled, he continued, "This is a worthless person who takes advantage and tarnishes the image of your esteemed company. I suggest dealing with him severely! You may not know how arrogant he was downstairs just now, and he must have done a bunch of disgusting things harmful to your company behind the scenes!"
However, Sophia's eyes slightly darkened, and they emitted a unique aura of authority. "Oh? From what I gather, Henry wants to give us pointers on personnel adjustments in our company?" Before Henry could explain, Sophia added, "Shouldn't you also give us some guidance on our company's business strategy?"
Henry's mind went blank. He quickly waved his hand and explained, "You misunderstood! I didn't mean that at all! How could I have the qualifications to meddle in your company's strategy?"
"Since you don't, then please refrain from discussing matters unrelated to our bidding cooperation. Is that clear?" Sophia's tone was icy.
"Understood..." Henry had no choice but to comply.
At this moment, the people from the Johnson family seated across from them exchanged glances. They had originally planned to accuse Ryder, but now it seemed that it wouldn't be so easy. It might even provoke Sophia's displeasure. Therefore, they wisely remained silent. Ryder walked straight to the Johnson family's seats and sat down next to Sarah.
Sarah felt puzzled and a little embarrassed. "Why did you come over here?"
Ryder spoke softly, "Didn't I just say it downstairs? I came to cheer you on and wish you success in the bidding!"
Sarah glared at Ryder in annoyance but felt a warm sensation inside.
The previous Ryder was always reserved and never concerned himself with her career. Now, his actions made her feel a sense of happiness and security!
Not far away, Andy looked at Ryder with extreme disgust.
In a deep voice, he said, "This is a bidding cooperation. It's fine for you to go crazy outside, but do you intend to sabotage the Johnson family's bid by coming in here?"
In response, Ryder leaned back slightly in his chair and said nonchalantly, "What does the success or failure of the Johnson family's bid have to do with me? I came in just to support my wife. Any problem with that?"
"You..." Andy was so frustrated that his teeth itched. He turned his head to complain to Sophia, "This bidding cooperation involves the participation of the Johnson family. Ryder has nothing to do with us. I suggest removing unrelated individuals to avoid any influence on the bidding cooperation meeting!"
However, Sophia replied, "Ryder is the head of our company's security department. His presence here ensures the security of the meeting. He is not an unrelated individual."
Andy's eyelid twitched twice, but he could only nod and agree. Inside, he cursed Ryder and his entire ancestry. He had no idea how this useless person had suddenly gotten lucky and started causing trouble at Maple Real Estate.
"No one dares to take charge yet?" Grandpa Johnson discerned Andy's thoughts. He reached out and patted Andy to calm him down, lowering his voice as he reminded him, "This is an internal issue within their company, and logically speaking, it's not our place to interfere. The reason for this is that we lack the strength and hold an inadequate position in Maple Real Estate's eyes. However, once we succeed in this bidding and become an important partner of Maple Real Estate, dealing with Ryder will be as easy as pie!"
Andy's eyes lit up. "Grandpa, you're amazing!" Then, he gave Ryder a provocative look, clearly implying something!
Ryder's mouth curled into a faint cold smile, unaffected by it.
At this moment, Sophia spoke up. "I announce the start of this bidding and collaboration meeting. Our bid proposal has already been published, clearly stating requirements for the total quantity, quality, delivery speed, and price of building materials provided by the bidding parties. Now, both sides can present their bid proposals and introduce their companies based on their respective situations. Let's begin with the Windsor Group."
Henry handed his bid proposal to Sophia, and his assistant connected the computer to the meeting room's projector. He began his passionate introduction, saying, "As the current largest building materials supplier in Houston, the Windsor Group has a long-established brand with high market recognition, starting from last year..."
Although Henry was often referred to as a freeloading son-in-law, he did have some personal talent. In his bid presentation, he described the advantages of his own building materials in detail. Every aspect was undoubtedly the best in Houston. Various advantages were highlighted!
"Therefore, in conclusion, our bidding price for this project is $1.5 billion! We hope to reach a cooperation agreement with your company in the end!"
The entire introduction lasted half an hour and finally came to an end.
Henry sat down. Elena led the applause among the Windsor Group members, with an expression of undisguised pride. It was as if she was saying, "See, everyone? This is my man. Impressive, right?"
Henry was also excited. Throughout the presentation, he performed well without any surprises. He was confident that he would win this bidding!
Sophia and the two high-ranking officials from the companies nodded slightly. Henry's performance was indeed impressive!
Sophia then turned to the Johnson family and said, "It's the Johnson family's turn now. Who will be introducing it?"
Upon hearing this, Grandpa Johnson stood up. He handed the bid proposal that Sarah had given to him to Sophia and smiled, saying, "Andy will be introducing our situation!"
