Chapter 40 Sam's Plan
The Source Hotel
The Johnson family arrived in their car.
The exchange location sent by Sam was right here.
As soon as they got out of the car, two bodyguards in black approached them at the hotel entrance. "Are you from the Johnson family?"
Grandpa Johnson nodded repeatedly. "Yes, we are."
Glancing at the group, the bodyguards said coldly, "Mr. Smith ordered that only two of you can take Sarah upstairs. The others have to wait here!"
Grandpa Johnson turned his head. "Matthew and I will take Sarah upstairs. You guys stay here!"
He then stared coldly at Sarah. "What are you waiting for? Hurry up and follow us!"
At that moment, Sarah was still dazed. She was forced by her grandfather to meet Sam, and even her own mother was siding with him.
She could only agree to come along, but she was filled with confusion.
"Why did it have to be such a grand occasion just to meet Sam?" she thought.
She had asked this on her way here, but Grandpa Johnson scolded her fiercely. She had no choice but to stay silent.
However, she had a faint feeling that something wasn't right.
The three of them followed the bodyguards towards the entrance of The Source Hotel.
Karen, who had been kept in the dark, cheered Sarah on, "Sarah, this is a rare opportunity to mend your relationship with Sam. Behave well, and once you win Sam's favor, we can get rid of that scoundrel Ryder!"
After saying that, she gritted her teeth and said in a low voice, "Ryder, you waste! Wait until Sarah is with Sam, and we'll see how arrogant you can be!"
Led by the bodyguards, Grandpa Johnson and his family arrived at the door of a luxurious private room in the hotel.
The door opened.
Sam was seated in the middle of the room, his head wrapped in bandages and his face bruised. It was obvious that he had been beaten up by Andy earlier.
Standing on either side of him were over a dozen bodyguards dressed in black, exuding a formidable presence.
And on the coffee table opposite Sam, Andy was kneeling. His body was covered in dirt and footprints. One eye was swollen, and both sides of his mouth were bleeding heavily.
What caught everyone's attention was the burning candle on top of his head. He looked utterly miserable.
Upon seeing this scene, Grandpa Johnson burst into tears. "My grandson, you've suffered!"
Andy was trembling. Upon hearing the words, he cried, "Grandpa, please help me! I really can't handle it anymore!"
Grandpa Johnson pleaded with Sam, "Mr. Smith, I have fulfilled our agreement and brought Sarah to you. Please release Andy!"
Sam scolded Andy, "Don't move! If the candles on your head fall, I will chop off a finger!"
Andy immediately froze, sweat forming on his forehead.
Sam stood up and looked towards the door.
His gaze first fell on Sarah, and a hint of greed flashed in his eyes.
Then he turned to Grandpa and smiled lightly. "To be honest, I didn't want to make such a big fuss today, but I was forced to do it. I hope you understand, Grandpa Johnson! Please don't take offense!"
Grandpa Johnson forced a smile. "No offense taken!"
In fact, when he saw Sam beaten like this as he entered the room, his heart was torn apart. He thought Andy had caused a big trouble!
Of course, he had no idea that Sam's current state was mostly due to being hit with a wine bottle by Ryder a few days ago!
Sam continued, "By the way, I forgot to mention on the phone. There is one more condition you must agree to in order to release this idiot, Andy."
Grandpa Johnson replied immediately, "Please tell me the condition. I will agree to anything!"
A sly look flashed in Sam's eyes. "I heard that you just obtained the qualification to bid for the Maple Real Estate project. My condition is for you to give up on this bidding opportunity. After all, we also want to participate in the bidding and don't want too many competitors!"
Upon hearing this, Grandpa Johnson's aged face changed. "Can we negotiate another condition?"
The Johnson family had been at a bottleneck for these years, desperately needing a breakthrough with a major project. It was a rare opportunity for the Johnson family, and now Sam was blackmailing them!
"So, you are not accepting my condition then?"
Seeing Grandpa Johnson hesitating, Sam grabbed a plastic fork from the fruit plate on the table and stabbed it directly into Andy's hand!
Andy let out a loud cry of pain.
This scene frightened both Grandpa Johnson and Matthew. Sam was ruthless without any hesitation!
"It hurts! Grandpa, please help me! Dad! I really can't take it anymore!"
Panicking, Grandpa Johnson nodded with a pained expression. "I agree! The Johnson family will give up on the bidding qualification. Please, just don't harm Andy anymore!"
"That's more like it!"
Sam threw away the plastic fork and felt relieved.
To outsiders, the Johnson family seemed wealthy, but now they were helpless before him.
However, at this moment, Sarah suddenly spoke up, "I disagree! I fought for this bid qualification myself! Why should I just hand it over to someone else?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Grandpa Johnson slapped Sarah harshly across the face and said fiercely, "Shut up! Your opinion doesn't matter here!"
Sarah stubbornly replied, "Grandpa! Although I'm not sure what happened, the Johnson family had decided that the bid qualification matter would be kept confidential. How could Sam know about it? It must be Andy who told him! The family rules clearly state that revealing family business secrets must be severely punished!"
Grandpa Johnson's face showed a mix of emotions because what Sarah said was true.
Revealing business secrets was a grave offense.
But Andy roared, "Sarah, you wicked woman, you’re framing me! Grandpa, I had no choice, please understand!"
Grandpa Johnson sternly said to Sarah, "I have the final say in the Johnson family's business affairs. You just need to listen. If you say one more word, you will lose your authority over the subsidiary company!"
Sarah bit her lip, her eyes flashing with grievance. She choked back tears and said, "I understand. Do whatever you want!"
With these words, she turned around to leave.
But she was blocked by two bodyguards at the door.
Sarah frowned. "What are you doing?"
At that moment, Sam walked over with a lewd smile on his face and said, "Sarah, don't rush to leave. We haven't seen each other for a few days. Don't you want to have a drink with me?"
Sarah responded coldly, "Not interested!"
She tried to forcefully push past the bodyguards' obstruction.
Sam's tone turned cold. "If you leave, that's fine. But Andy won't be able to go back!"
Sarah asked, "What do you mean?"
Sam nodded towards Grandpa Johnson and said, "Your grandpa knows it very well. Ask him!"
