Chapter 419 Brawl
Ken and his crew had barely taken a couple of steps when they heard that and froze in place!
They spun around to face Ryder, looking seriously ticked off.
The manager, with a face like thunder, snapped at Ryder, "Apologize for what?"
Ryder shot back, ice-cold, "I told you already. You gotta apologize!"
Manager retorted, "And what if we don't?"
Ryder smirked. "Alright then. Leaving Houston might be a bit of a challenge for you guys if you don't say sorry! Even if you do manage to leave, I'll make sure you hit the headlines. Trust me, I can get my hands on the airport surveillance footage. Imagine the buzz those videos would create online?"
Ken's team went pale as ghosts!
If that video got out, the entertainment media would have a field day.
And the worst part? Rival fans would jump at the chance to drag Ken through the mud!
The fallout would be a nightmare!
At that moment, the manager finally got it.
This Ryder guy wasn't just some random dude.
Anyone who could boss around the Vice CEO of Jadewood Group probably wasn't bluffing about getting the surveillance footage!
With a heavy sigh, the manager reluctantly gave in.
She whispered to Ken, "Ken, let's just suck it up and apologize to avoid more drama with this guy. Who knows what else he might pull!"
"But..." Ken was torn!
He always kept his cool image, and apologizing in public, especially with fans watching, was beyond embarrassing!
The manager then said firmly, "Ken! Don't be rash!"
Ken couldn't just brush off the manager's words.
He took a deep breath and swallowed his pride!
Then, under everyone's watchful eyes, Ken and the manager stepped forward and said to Sarah and Barbara, "Sorry!"
Even though the apology was half-hearted, it felt like a punch to the gut!
Sarah and Barbara kept their faces neutral, but you could tell they were feeling pretty smug inside!
"Is that enough now?" After the apology, the manager shot daggers at Ryder.
Her eyes were practically on fire!
If she could, she would've throttled Ryder, but his next words made her want to scream!
Ryder grinned and said, "Who said it's enough?"
The manager's eyes narrowed, teeth grinding. "What more do you want? I'm warning you, don't push it!"
Ryder shrugged, "Sorry, just a reminder that you knocked over this old lady without even offering a dime and just walked off. You think that's cool?"
"You..." The manager's face faltered, almost forgetting about that!
She glanced over and saw the airport medics bandaging the old lady's arm.
It looked like just a scratch, nothing major!
But looking around, she saw a bunch of people already snapping pics and recording videos.
The manager knew the longer this dragged on, the worse it would get for Ken!
So, even if she didn't wanna admit the old lady was hurt, she had to suck it up and own it now!
Her eye twitched as she walked up to the old lady.
Forcing a smile, she said, "It was our staff's fault for bumping into you. We're really sorry! Here's some compensation, please take it!"
Saying this, she pulled out her wallet and handed over a stack of cash, about four grand.
She stuffed the money into the old lady's hands, just wanting to end this mess ASAP!
To be fair, her PR skills were pretty solid for a manager!
But then, a voice cut through the air. "Why apologize to her? Why give her money? This has nothing to do with Ken, okay?"
Everyone turned to see who it was!
It was Ken's fan leader, Maria, glaring at the manager and shouting!
Maria's eyes were red, like she'd been wronged big time!
And she wasn't alone; the other fans around her were just as pissed:
"Yeah! This has nothing to do with Ken! Why are you picking on him?"
"He's the one taking all the heat!"
"As a manager, it's your job to protect Ken's image. Ken did nothing wrong, so why are you apologizing?"
The fans' loud shouts drew even more onlookers at the airport!
Seeing this, the manager's face went pale!
She needed to wrap this up quickly, not make a scene!
Why were these fans causing trouble now of all times?
Damn idiots!
Cursing under her breath, the manager turned to Maria and snapped, "Shut up! This has nothing to do with you!"
That only made things worse. Maria and the fans couldn't hold back!
They started going off on her.
"What right do you have as a manager? Without Ken, you're nothing!"
"Because of your incompetence, Ken's career has been held back. We've had enough of you!"
"We demand Ken fire his manager! Ken deserves better!"
"Stay away from Ken! You don't understand how great he is!"
The fans' curses were brutal!
This wave of angry attacks filled the manager with rage!
Losing her cool, she couldn't care less and quickly stepped forward, slapping Maria across the face!
Smack!
"You idiot, what right do you have to interfere with my business?"
Maria, holding her cheek, said, "You dare hit me?"
Manager shouted, "You deserve it!"
Maria glared, thinking it was one thing to be hit by Ryder since she couldn't fight back.
But she acted high and mighty just because she was Ken's manager.
Without thinking, she slapped back, which immediately set things off!
The manager called for her assistant and bodyguards to help.
Maria's side had other combative fans jumping in!
Both sides started brawling in the airport hall!
It was a total chaos!
As for Ryder and his crew, they didn't waste any time and made a quick exit as soon as the fight broke out.
