Chapter 337 Karen Has Cancer?

The next day.

In an underground parking lot in Houston, there were very few people around!

Kenneth, with a stern face, said, "You guys promised this yourselves. Don't mess it up, or you know what I'm capable of!"

Standing opposite Kenneth were Karen and Kyle, both looking respectful.

Kyle responded obsequiously, "Mr. Davis, don't worry. This time, my mom and I have planned everything perfectly. It won't fail!"

Karen nodded in agreement. "We won't let you down!"

Kenneth nodded. "Good! If it works out, I'll add another seventy thousand dollars to your bonus. Make sure you seize this opportunity!"

Karen and Kyle's eyes lit up with greed, unable to hide their avarice.

"Go ahead!" Kenneth said, satisfied.

After giving Kenneth a respectful bow, they quickly left the parking lot.

Watching their backs disappear, Kenneth's eyes flashed with disdain. "Two greedy dogs. If it weren't for the fact that you still have some use, I'd have thrown you into the river long ago!"

Just as Kenneth was about to open the car door, he saw a figure approaching.

Seeing this person, Kenneth's expression darkened, and he asked warily, "What are you doing here?"

The other person replied calmly, "Mr. Mark Davis asked me to bring you back."

Kenneth, a bit impatient, replied, "Tell him I'm busy and don't have time to go back!"

The man said flatly, "Mr. Mark Davis's orders are for you to come back with me now. You don't want me to take action, do you?"

"I..." Kenneth gritted his teeth but didn't dare say anything more.

The man in front of him was Brian Harris, Mark's personal bodyguard and private butler, whom even Kenneth had to address respectfully as Uncle Harris!

Although he looked about the same age as Kenneth, he was actually over sixty years old!

In the Davis family, Brian held a very special position, only taking orders from Mark. No one else, including Kenneth, could command him!

Moreover, Kenneth knew very well that with Brian's skills and methods, there was no way he could escape from him!

Kenneth could only sigh helplessly. "Alright, Uncle Harris. I'll go back with you."

In the Houston First Hospital.

After last night's celebration, George and Rex came to the hospital to treat their injuries.

Rex was fine, with just some minor injuries.

If they had come any later, his wounds would have already healed!

George, on the other hand, had a dislocated left shoulder. The bone was realigned by the doctor, and he would fully recover after resting for half a month.

It had to be said, George was incredibly strong.

Even with a dislocated left shoulder, he endured the pain and partied with his brothers all night.

An ordinary person would have been sent to the hospital long ago!

After discharging George from the hospital, Ryder and Rex went to Ernest's room to check on him.

Coincidentally, Sarah was also there today.

They learned from the doctor that Ernest was recovering well and was expected to be able to move and speak in a few days!

Then they would finally know the reason behind Ernest's sudden stroke!

Just as Ryder and Sarah were about to go downstairs, a familiar face approached them quickly!

With red eyes and a look of despair and urgency, it was Sarah's uncle, Dominic!

Why was he here??

Seeing Ryder and Sarah, Dominic suddenly burst into tears and choked out. "Sarah, I finally found you! The sky is falling! You can't just stand by and do nothing!"

As Dominic wiped his tears, he stepped closer to speak with Sarah.

Ryder blocked Dominic and said coldly, "Dominic! What do you want?"

Dominic, wiping his eyes with a bitter expression, said, "Ryder! Sarah, I know I've done some terrible things in the past, and I'm sorry. I've reflected on my actions during this time and deeply regret them. I sincerely apologize to you both!"

With that, Dominic bent at a 90-degree angle, bowing respectfully to Ryder and Sarah.

This was a stark contrast to the arrogant and bossy Dominic they had known before!

Ryder didn't respond.

Although Sarah had a poor impression of Dominic, he was still a relative by blood. Seeing him so humble in public made her feel a bit uncomfortable.

Sarah said, "It's all over, so leave it at that! Just be more mindful in the future."

She then took Ryder's arm, intending to avoid Dominic and leave.

But Dominic quickly stepped in front of them, blocking their way. With tearful eyes, he said, "Sarah, I know you're still angry with me, and it's all my fault. But no matter what, there's something I must tell you today, or no one can help!"

Sarah frowned and asked, "What's going on?"

Dominic sighed deeply, his voice hoarse. "My sister has cancer!"

"Your sister has cancer?" Sarah echoed his words, shocked.

Sarah was momentarily stunned as she processed the information. Then, her expression changed dramatically, "What? Are you saying my mom has cancer? Is that true?"

Dominic, sobbing, nodded. "I wouldn't dare lie about something like this. She was diagnosed with cancer just yesterday, and it's already in the late stages. The doctor said if she doesn't get surgery soon, there's no hope. I had no choice but to come to you, so..."

Hearing this, Sarah felt her mind go blank.

It was like a bolt from the blue!

Although many things had happened recently, leading her to sever ties with Karen, Sarah still felt a deep sense of familial bond that was built between them for over more than twenty years.

Hearing this news, Sarah was naturally shocked!

Taking a few deep breaths, Sarah quickly asked, "Where is my mom now? Take me to see her!"

Dominic replied, "She's hospitalized at Mayo Clinic. Your aunt and Kyle are there taking care of her!"

"No, I need to go now!" Sarah murmured, then turned to Ryder, asking, "Will you come with me to Mayo Clinic?"

Ryder nodded without any hesitation.

Soon, they went downstairs and got into the car.

Rex drove.

As the car started, Dominic, sitting in the front passenger seat, kept looking around the car with undisguised curiosity and admiration.

Noticing this, Ryder asked, "This car is nice, isn't it? When do you plan to get one?"

Dominic instinctively replied, "I don't have the money. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't afford to buy one."

Then, as if remembering something, his expression turned sad again. "At a time like this, how could I even think about buying a car? Karen has worried all her life; it's been so hard for her! I thought she could finally enjoy life, but then this happened!"

Hearing this, Ryder couldn't help but think, 'Karen hadn't really suffered much; she was the most carefree in the family!'

However, outwardly, Ryder showed a sympathetic attitude. "You're right! By the way, what kind of cancer does Mom have?"
