Chapter 321 Underlying Turbulence!

Ryder was surprised and said, "Uncle Ryan, you don't know Houston. How are you going to find the police, let alone Sam?"

Ryan took a big gulp of beer and burped. "You doubt me? I've been around the world. I'm a big deal everywhere!"

Ryder smiled wryly. "Alright. Do it then!"

He wasn't too confident in Ryan, but there was an old saying, "A mouse has its ways, and a cat has its ways." Maybe Ryan could actually find Sam.

Ryan then extended his hand towards Ryder, looking expectant.

"How about some funds for finding Sam? Just whatever you think is fine!"

Ryder opened his wallet, took out all his cash, and handed it to Ryan. "This is all I have, about four hundred dollars. Is that enough?"

Ryan's eyes sparkled, and he nodded repeatedly. "That's enough. Ryder, you're reliable! Better than your dad!"

Ryder was taken aback and quickly asked, "Uncle Ryan, you were close with my dad. Do you know anything about him?"

A fleeting, complex look flashed in Ryan's eyes, but he kept his cool. "Damn! You're asking an outsider about your dad? Isn't that nonsense?

"Your dad was great, especially his eye for women. He said the widow at the grocery store had a 36D bust. I didn't believe it until I slept with her. He was right!

"If there's something bad about him, it's his character. He'd lose at gambling and then curse people out. He had a harsh tongue."

Ryder fell silent.

He might as well not have asked!

The three of them ate a bit more until they were full. Ryan, looking satisfied, said to Ryder, "Out of all the college students from our village, you're the one who's made it big. I'm genuinely happy for you. I'll be in Houston for a while, so if you need anything, just call me. I don't stand on ceremony!"

Ryder nodded.

Ryan casually grabbed two skewers of grilled beef, stood up, and said goodbye, "I'll be off then. Don't worry, I'll definitely catch that kid named Sam for you!"

With that, Ryan left the barbecue joint, humming a tune.

Watching Ryan leave, Rex couldn't help but ask Ryder, "Ryder, is Ryan reliable?"

Ryder responded with a question, "What do you think?"

Rex scratched his head. "We have people like him back home. None of them are reliable. Shouldn't you be careful?"

Ryder squinted thoughtfully. "If it were anyone else with that personality, I'd think the same and distance myself from him. But with Uncle Ryan, I can't underestimate him!"

"Why?"

Ryder didn't answer. His expression turned nostalgic.

Because back in the days, something happened in the village. Ryan was caught in bed with a married woman and got beaten up by her husband. That incident was a joke in the village for a long time.

However, Ryder once heard John privately comment on Ryan, saying, "I can't see through the man!"

Back then, John's comment didn't mean much. But now, knowing John's influence, it meant a lot.

Now, back to Ryan.

He left the barbecue stand, munching on grilled beef and thinking, "This beef is really good! I can't just eat Ryder's barbecue for free; I have to help him find that guy named Sam!"

As he walked, Ryan passed a street lined with spas and massage parlors. Inside, a few girls in red outfits and mini skirts were sitting on sofas, winking at him.

Ryan touched the four hundred dollars in his pocket. Should he go in for some fun? No! This money was for finding Sam for Ryder, not for finding women! He needed to be reliable!

"Hey, handsome, wanna come in and play?" a woman in her thirties called out, full of allure.

"Sure!" Ryan wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth and walked in. He'd already forgotten everything else.

Meanwhile, in Houston's bars and casinos, a piece of news spread among the regulars. Someone had issued an underground fight challenge to George, set for tomorrow night. They'd invited Houston's gang leaders and many big shots who enjoyed underground fights.

This news was a bombshell, sparking continuous discussions.

"Oh my! Really? Someone still dares to challenge George in Houston?"

"They must have a death wish. George has never lost an underground fight and he's the top dog in Houston. I can't believe someone is foolish enough to challenge him!"

"You guys don't know, but today a man named Edward went to George's turf to cause trouble. I heard he's pretty tough, a real badass! It won't be easy for George to win!"

"Someone in Houston must be eyeing George's position and wants to take a big bite out of it! We should just watch; getting involved could mean certain death!"

At King's Bar, Josh had just seen off an old friend when a subordinate hurried over. "Josh, someone wants to see you. He says it's important!"

"Who?"

"A man in a white suit. He said his name is Edward!"

Josh frowned. "Where is he?"

"In your office!"

"Take me to him!"

Soon, Josh arrived at his office. He glanced at Edward, who was sitting on the sofa with a calm expression, and asked, "Are you Edward?"

Edward nodded.

Josh sneered, "I've heard of you. You're the one who caused trouble at George's place today, right? Now you're swaggering onto my turf alone. Aren't you afraid I'll capture you and hand you over to George?"

A confident smile appeared on Edward's face. "First, it's not that easy to capture me. Second, you won't capture me."

"Why not?"

Edward squinted his eyes and said slowly, "Because I can help you rise to the top, replace George, and become the number one boss in Houston!"
