Chapter 117 Let Me Read Your Palm!
"Who is this?" Aaron was startled by the voice at the door. He quickly pressed pause to hide the small movie window.
He hurriedly pulled up his pants that were halfway down.
Luckily, he had just started watching; otherwise, it would have been embarrassing to be caught!
"I am your secretary, Zoey!"
"Come in!"
The office door was pushed open.
A woman, dressed somewhat fashionably with a decent appearance, came in, holding a stack of documents in her hands.
A few days ago, when Klay was dismissed as the general manager, his secretary, who had a bad relationship with him was also fired.
So Zoey, a salesperson from the Marketing Department, was temporarily transferred here to be Aaron's secretary.
Aaron looked Zoey up and down.
He found that this woman had a good appearance. She was only a few years older than him.
The perfect secretary style!
Just like the leading lady in his favorite movie!
"These are the contract documents accumulated by our department in the past few days. They need your approval and signature!" Zoey placed a stack of documents on Aaron's desk.
"No problem!" Aaron opened the contract documents.
As he glanced over the contract content, he instantly became dumbfounded.
He recognized the individual words on the contract, but he couldn't understand what they meant when they were put together!
However, he still put on a pretentious look and said, "Hmm! This contract has been handled excellently. No issues at all!"
Then he directly waved his hand.
All contracts were signed!
Zoey took the contract and said, "Thank you!"
Just as she was about to turn and leave, Aaron called out to her, "Please wait!"
"Do you have something else?"
"Just because I stopped you doesn't mean I have something else!"
"I didn't mean it that way!" Zoey became a little nervous.
Seeing Zoey's face flush with nervousness, Aaron felt an inexplicable surge of emotion.
Flirting with the secretary wasn't a bad idea!
So he cleared his throat and said, "Don't be nervous. I stopped you for a reason. I have a habit of working with people whose fate is compatible with mine. Before we become colleagues, I need to make sure our destinies match!"
Zoey asked with confusion, "How do we determine that?"
A mischievous glint flashed in Aaron's eyes as he replied, "It's simple! I will read your palm and determine your fate from that."
"Oh!" Zoey extended her right hand to Aaron.
Aaron took hold of her right hand and examined it attentively.
In his heart, he marveled at how smooth and tender this woman's palm was.
After observing for over a minute, Aaron still didn't release Zoey's hand.
She asked nervously, "Are you done? I still have work to finish over there!"
"Just wait a little longer!" Aaron felt unsatisfied and leaned back in enjoyment.
Accidentally, his elbow brushed against the computer keyboard.
The screen of the computer, which was playing an action movie, suddenly popped up.
The rhythmic sounds reverberated in the office!
"Ah! What are you doing..."
Zoey's face turned red. She was frightened. She quickly retracting her hand and said, "I... I have something to do, I should go!"
After speaking, she grabbed the documents and hurriedly ran out of the office.
Aaron looked at the screen, which displayed a scene of two people engaging in intense combat, and angrily hit the table beneath.
"Forget about this! They said they would act today, but why haven't they reported the results yet?"
Aaron took out his phone and made a call.
"The number you dialed is currently switched off..."
"Damn it! What a bunch of unreliable guys!"
Feeling frustrated, Aaron simply started playing games on his phone.
As for the unfinished work left by the previous general manager, he couldn't be bothered to take a glance.
After handling the matters of the group, Ryder took the property agreement and keys, hopped on his electric scooter, and rushed to the Platan Heights villa area.
Platan Heights is located east of a lake and west of a river.
Due to its good environment, many residential communities have been built around it.
The mountainside has also been developed into a villa area.
In addition to being expensive, the availability of Platan Height is limited.
There are 72 regular villas and 36 luxury villas.
So, being able to live in Platan Heights is truly a privilege.
Every villa in Platan Heights belonged to someone in power. In other words, in the eyes of the people in Houston, anyone who didn't live in Platan Heights couldn't be considered truly wealthy! Even Grandpa Johnson had expressed countless times his desire to move into the Platan Heights villa district, but unfortunately, his assets were not enough. It could only remain a wish.
Twenty minutes later, Ryder arrived at the entrance of the Platan Heights villa district. Through the railings, Ryder could catch a glimpse of the appearance of some villas inside the district. They exuded a certain aura that even the Johnson family's old mansion, which cost less than three million dollars, couldn't compare to!
Of course, even though it was the Platan Heights villa district, it didn't shock Ryder that much. After all, he was born into the Jones family of New York. Despite not being well-received, he had actually lived there for ten years! Ryder still remembered the luxurious mansion of the Jones family vividly.
According to Ryder's estimation, even if one stacked together the prices of all the villas in Platan Heights, they wouldn't necessarily surpass the Jones family's mansion!
Just as Ryder was about to ride his bicycle inside, he was stopped by a security guard in the security booth. "Delivery personnel entering the community need to register and show proof of an order from the resident."
"I'm not a delivery person," Ryder replied.
The security guard waved his hand impatiently. "If you're not delivering, then hurry up and leave. This place doesn't allow idle people to wander around!"
Ryder smiled bitterly and said, "I am an owner here. Can't I go in?"
"An owner?" The security guard walked out of the security booth, glanced at Ryder, and sneered, "Bastard! Look at your face! Don't play this kind of joke with me. Leave before I lose my temper. Go back to wherever you came from and don't create trouble for yourself!"
"I..." Just as Ryder was about to take out the property agreement from his pocket as proof, he suddenly heard the sound of a car horn from behind. He turned his head and saw a red Maserati speeding toward him. A large round face appeared from the car window, belonging to a woman who looked extremely ordinary and was at least 35 years old.
In a harsh tone, she scolded, "Where did this beggar come from? Don't block my way!"
At this moment, the security guard hurriedly jogged a few steps to the Maserati and stood at attention. "Miss, welcome back!"
This young lady was one of the owners of a villa in Platan Heights. She lived in a regular villa worth 16 million dollars, which could be considered upper-middle class even in a regular villa district.
At this moment, another man's head appeared from the car window. "Isn't this Ryder?"
