Chapter 98 Divorce Sarah!
At eight o'clock in the evening, Sarah took her seven employees from the company and went to a nearby restaurant with Ryder to have a hearty meal.
After eating, they went to a bar to sing and have fun. It had already been three hours.
From the moment they entered the meeting room until now, Sarah had been indifferent to Ryder. No good expression at all!
This gave him a headache, so he left the table and went to the corridor. There, he leaned against the wall and started playing games on his phone.
He was at ease!
Soon, Emily walked out.
She was drunk, and her face was slightly flushed.
"Ryder, I... I have a few things I want to say to you." Emily hesitated a bit before speaking.
"What's the matter?" Ryder was a bit puzzled.
He and Emily weren't particularly close, so what could she have to say to him?
Emily's expression became slightly more serious. "Ryder, maybe you'll be angry when I say this, but for Sarah's sake, I think it is necessary. I suggest you take the initiative to ask for a divorce from Sarah."
Ryder was stunned.
Emily's words were quite explosive!
Seeing that Ryder was confused, Emily explained quickly, "Ryder, I know you are a good person, but when it comes to emotions, especially in married life, it requires a foundation of status and material things to sustain it! You know Sarah better than me. Whether it's appearance, ability, or status, she can be regarded as one of the most outstanding women in Houston. She will have even greater achievements in the future!"
Ryder finally understood. Emily was suggesting that he wasn't suitable for Sarah and was advising him to get a divorce!
This girl was quite interesting!
Since he had nothing better to do, teasing her a bit was not a bad idea!
Ryder pocketed his phone and asked with interest, "But what if Sarah doesn't want the divorce?"
"How could that be?" Emily widened her eyes in disbelief. "I know Sarah better than anyone else. She has a kind heart. She cares too much about what others think of her. Although I don't know why she married you in the first place, I think it was mostly because of societal pressure. But think about it. She is a beautiful, talented woman with a promising future!
"And I've heard that you've been sleeping separately for three years since your marriage. It shows that she doesn't actually have any feelings for you. The reason she hasn't taken the initiative to file for divorce is definitely because she's afraid of hurting you and worried about being judged. But Ryder, if you take the initiative, it will be different. It won't put Sarah in a difficult position. It would be much better!"
Ryder's head was filled with confusion. "Uh, so are you not worried that I'll be criticized if I initiate the divorce?"
Emily gave a straightforward answer. "I've seen you being criticized for three years, and you're still fine. It won't make a difference!"
Emily continued with a serious tone. "Ryder, I'm not looking down on you. After all, I don't have money myself. But as an observer, I really think you and Sarah are not compatible. This is also the opinion of the seven of us! You're a good person. Giving up on Sarah means there's someone more suitable waiting for you! I won't say more. It's up to you to think about it!"
Then she staggered toward the bathroom.
Ryder smiled wryly.
Of course, he didn't take any of this seriously.
After all, Emily meant no harm. She not only viewed Sarah as a leader but also as an idol. Having a loyal subordinate is a good thing!
Emily washed her face in the restroom and became a bit clear-headed.
Thinking about what she had just said, an embarrassed blush appeared on her face. She muttered to herself, "I can't control my big mouth! Why did I get involved in Sarah's affairs? Ryder must be very sad and hurt."
Suddenly, she shook her head again. "No! For Sarah's happiness, it's not a big deal for me to be a sinner! If Ryder gets divorced and still can't find a partner, then I'll... introduce him to my cousin!"
Her cousin was 38 years old!
As she turned around to return to the dining area, she suddenly bumped into a drunken man.
Emily was pushed back a few steps and almost fell to the ground!
"Oh, I'm sorry!"
Emily apologized awkwardly. She didn't dare to look up at the man and tried to slip past him.
"Hold on!"
The man suddenly blocked her path. "You want to leave after saying sorry? Are you in such a hurry?"
Emily lifted her head.
She then realized that the person in front of her was a sleazy middle-aged man in his forties.
Gold necklace, gold watch, gold bracelet!
Very tacky!
Emily felt a little nauseous. She didn't want to stay there any longer.
"I really have something urgent!"
Emily wanted to find an opportunity to leave.
The man stopped her again and grabbed her arm.
With a sleazy smile, he said, "Hey! How urgent could it be? Come, sit with me for a while! You look cute. I'm sure you can sing well too!"
"Let go of me! I can't sing!" Emily was startled. She quickly pulled her hand away from him.
The man's face darkened, and without saying a word, he slapped Emily.
"Bitch! Do you know who I am? It's your honor to sing for me. Don't act foolish!"
He grabbed Emily's arm and forcefully pulled her toward his private room!
Emily was no match for his strength.
She was being dragged by him!
"Let go! Let go! Help!"
A few men passing by in the corridor saw this scene but avoided it, pretending not to notice.
These days, it's better to mind one's own business and avoid any unnecessary trouble.
Moreover, judging by the man's attire, he was not an ordinary person!
They couldn't afford to offend him!
Just as the man was about to pull Emily toward the door of the private room, everything went black in front of him!
A punch landed on his left eye!
"Damn it!" he screamed.
He released Emily and covered his eye as he staggered backward several steps.
"Who hit me?"
The man was furious.
He saw a young man in his mid-twenties standing across from him.
Staring indifferently at him, the young man spoke coldly. "Does my punch hurt?"
