Chapter 452 Going into the Coffin
As Ryder finished speaking, the guy next to Sandra whipped out a fruit knife and waved it right in front of her face!
Sandra could feel the blade grazing her cheek.
That cold, real feeling!
She started to shake, totally freaking out. "Ryder! Tell your guy to chill! We can talk this out."
She knew her cushy life was all thanks to her control over men!
And that control came from her looks, her body, and her killer bedroom skills!
So yeah, she valued her face almost as much as her life!
She was scared out of her mind that something might happen to it!
"Talk it out?" Ryder's eyes narrowed as he stared at her. "Did you ever think about talking to me before messing with my wife, Barbara, and Maple Real Estate?"
Sandra opened her mouth but had nothing to say!
"People like you never change," Ryder muttered coldly.
Suddenly, he shouted right in her ear, "Only death! Only death can change someone like you!"
Sandra was so shocked!
She dropped her high-and-mighty act and fell to her knees in front of Ryder, bowing her head repeatedly, her voice shaking as she begged, "I'm sorry! Please, Ryder, spare me! I was stupid. I can fix this! Just don't kill me!"
She started slapping her own face so hard that the sound echoed through the room.
Ryder glanced at her, then looked at the rest of the Johnson family in the hall.
Lawrence and Sandra had both been put in their place by Ryder, making it clear he wasn't messing around today!
Everyone needed to read the room!
Facing Ryder's icy stare, the Johnson family members started to crack under the pressure!
Matthew was the first to step up!
Without a word, he ran over and knelt in front of Ryder!
And he started slapping his own face!
"I deserve this. I'm a jerk. I won't do it again! I'm sorry."
Matthew didn't care about his pride!
He'd been through enough to know better, and after his recent stint in jail, he'd been through worse and done more humiliating things!
This was nothing in comparison!
Matthew led the way, followed by the rest of the Johnson family: his wife Macy, Abigail, and Lawrence's wife.
They might have seemed slow, but they were quick to apologize!
A bunch of them knelt in a fan shape, the sound of slaps nonstop!
This was a first for many of the guests!
If it weren't for Ryder's scary-looking black-clad guys, they would've already pulled out their phones to snap some pics.
Right then, the only one still sitting at the main table was Heather!
She sat there, her wrinkled face pale as a ghost!
Her cloudy eyes darted between Ryder, who looked ice-cold, and George, who was all fired up.
The guests were glued to the scene, their expressions making Heather feel all sorts of ways.
Their different stances!
She was seventy now, with over twenty years of scheming within the Johnson family, she'd seen both the highs and the lows!
But she'd never felt as desperate and helpless as she did now.
Still, she was proud and stubborn, especially in front of Ryder; she didn't want to admit defeat!
With shaky hands, she pushed herself up from the table and, with a voice full of anger and disappointment, scolded the Johnson family members kneeling and slapping themselves, "Get up! As Johnsons, don't you feel ashamed kneeling before that ungrateful Ryder?"
They looked at each other, then finally at Ryder, who stood there with a cold stare.
In the end, they chose to keep their heads down and continue slapping themselves, making Heather's eye twitch!
She felt utterly helpless.
She thought about how they usually acted so high and mighty in front of her, always plotting to take down Ryder, but when it came to actually facing him!
They were total cowards.
Taking a deep breath, Heather glared at Ryder and screamed, "You bastard! Do you think you can do whatever you want? I'm telling you right now! As long as I'm standing here, I won't let you act recklessly! Even if they give in, I won't!"
Ryder took a step forward, his eyes flashing coldly as he asked, "Are you sure?"
Heather didn't back down and said, "I mean what I say!"
Ryder let out a cold laugh. "Aren't you afraid I'll destroy the Johnson family and tear down your mansion today?"
Heather's face changed, and she shot back, "You wouldn't dare!"
"Why wouldn't I?" As Ryder finished speaking, more than a dozen of George's guys, holding sticks, rushed into the hall!
Right in front of Heather, they flipped the main table!
Food and drinks spilled everywhere, shattering on the ground!
At the same time, the vases, potted plants, chairs, and other decorations in the hall were smashed to pieces by the black-clad guys' sticks!
The destruction was relentless!
Heather was furious, screaming, "Stop it! This is the Johnson family's legacy built over decades, you can't destroy it!"
But the black-clad guys ignored her!
One of them even rushed up and grabbed the cane Heather had next to her chair!
He snapped it in half and tossed it aside!
"It's over! It's all over!"
Heather was panicking, completely lost on what to do!
At that moment, Ryder suddenly shouted from the crowd, "Heather, go to the coffin!"
"What?" Heather turned her head and saw Ryder pointing towards the black coffin behind him. Ryder shouted again, "Heather, go to the coffin!"
As Ryder's words fell, over a hundred black-clad guys behind him shouted in unison:
"Heather, go to the coffin!"
Their deafening chants echoed,"Heather, go to the coffin! Heather, go to the coffin!"
