Chapter 53 Will I Win The Lottery?
Karen looked up and down at Ryder with her eyes wide open.
"I didn't realize you, a waste, could be so arrogant! I can't wait to see Sam and his people coming later to see how tough you can still be!"
She took out her phone to call Sam.
Seeing this, Sarah was startled and quickly tried to stop her. "Mom! Don't make a phone call. Do you want to make things even more chaotic?"
"No! I can't stand this white-eyed wolf anymore. Today, I'm going to let him know how cruel society can be. I've lived for decades and have never been refuted like this before, but this bastard has been defying me more than once these days. I have to deal with him!" Karen said as she shook off Sarah and dialed Sam's number.
"Huh? Why isn't Sam answering the call?" Karen was a bit puzzled and dialed Sam's number again.
Again, nobody answered.
Ryder laughed and asked, "How long do I have to wait? Standing here is quite tiring."
Karen's face showed a little embarrassment as she glared at Ryder. "Don't celebrate too soon. Let me try again. I'm sure I can get through this time!"
Just as she was dialing the number again, Ernest exclaimed from inside the room, "Something big happened!"
"Can you please not be so jumpy? What can happen so early in the morning?" Karen grumbled.
Ernest hurriedly explained, "You'll know when you come in and see the news! Hurry up!"
Reluctantly, Karen turned around and entered the room.
Sarah and Ryder followed suit.
The TV in the living room was playing the news at that moment.
Headline 1: "The Smith Group has been exposed for a major financial fraud case. Relevant departments have initiated an investigation."
Headline 2: "Joseph, the chairman of the Smith Group, died in a car accident early this morning."
Headline 3: "The hit-and-run driver who struck Joseph has turned himself in. His identity is Tony, and he owns multiple entertainment industries in Houston."

Seeing the content of the morning news, the atmosphere in the living room became quiet.
Both Karen and Ernest were dumbfounded.
One minute ago, Karen was still boasting about how she would make the Smith family deal with Ryder.
But in the next minute, the Smith family was completely destroyed!
This turnaround was way too fast!
Sarah covered her mouth, unable to believe it. The events that happened at the hotel last night, where she was lured in by Sam's scheme, were still vivid in her mind, leaving a deep impression.
In the morning, Ryder told her in the hospital room that the Smith family was in trouble, and she had sneered at it.
But she never expected that it would actually happen!
How did Ryder know about this in advance?
With that in mind, Sarah couldn't help but look at Ryder.

Karen angrily turned off the TV. She sat on the sofa, and said, "Why did the Smith family have to have problems? We had an agreement that I was going to be Sam's mother-in-law!"
Ernest shook his head as well. "According to the news, it seems that the Smith family is not only facing bankruptcy but also many legal disputes. It seems like there's no hope for them anymore!"
Karen nodded and suddenly seemed to remember something.
She quickly said to Sarah, "Sarah! Hurry up and delete Sam's number from your phone. Don't contact him anymore! With so many problems in their family, if they drag us into it, we'll be doomed!"
Sarah helplessly replied, "I never wanted to contact him in the first place!"
Karen still couldn’t stop worrying. "By the way! Did you take precautions last night? If you didn't, I'll have that useless Ryder go to the pharmacy for you. Don't end up pregnant!"
Sarah stomped her foot and anxiously explained, "Mom! Nothing happened between Sam and me! Please stop imagining things!"
Karen finally reluctantly closed her mouth.
Ryder had encountered many opportunistic people in his life, but Karen was genuinely the first of her kind, reaching a terrifying level of shamelessness.
Especially that suspicion about Sarah being pregnant with Sam's child and telling him, her lawful husband, to buy pills!
How could she really say something like that?
Ryder was speechless!
Karen sighed and pondered for a while, then shifted her attention back to Ryder. "Don't get too happy yet. Even though the Smith family is done for, you two still have to get a divorce. Sarah is so outstanding. Even if she finds a richer second-generation than the Smith family, it won't be a problem! It's still much better than being with a parasite like you!"
Sarah couldn't bear to see Karen insulting Ryder like this and stood up to defend him.
"Mom! Don't say that about Ryder. He's now the head of the Security Department at Maple Real Estate. He's not as incompetent as you say!"
"The head of the Security Department at Maple Real Estate?" Karen looked surprised.
It was actually quite a good job to become the head of the Security Department at Maple Real Estate in Houston.
At least he was not the useless person Karen had sarcastically described.
But Karen clearly didn't believe Sarah's words. "Just him? Don't fool me! Maple Real Estate is such a big company. Someone like him can't even become a janitor there. How is this possible?"
"Sarah, why don’t you say that he has become the new president of Maple Real Estate? If he really becomes the new president of Maple Real Estate, I would be willing to eat shit and drink urine for every meal!"
If it weren't for the need to keep his temporary identity confidential, Ryder would have screamed to announce himself as the new president of Maple Real Estate!
Karen's dominance gave Sarah a headache.
"I'm not divorcing Ryder anyway, and you can't kick him out either! I have a lot of work to do in my company. Ryder, ride the bike and take me there now!"
"Alright!"
Ryder answered excitedly. They had been married for three years, but Sarah had never allowed him to accompany her to work.
The two of them didn't stay there even for a moment. They left directly.
Karen was infuriated, slapping the sofa and cursing, "Ryder! That bastard deserves to die!"
Ernest frowned and asked in confusion, "Haven't you noticed that Ryder seems to have changed in the past couple of days?"

Ernest shook his head. "That's not what I mean!"

"Think about it. During this period, Ryder not only fought with Sam but also Abigail. He even bought a 5 million necklace for our daughter! He seems so confident and generous. I don't believe he became the head of security at Maple Real Estate, but could he have suddenly come into money, like winning a lottery?"
Karen looked skeptical. "That's unlikely! If Ryder wins the lottery, I'll find gold everywhere I go!"
"What if?"
Karen sneered and confidently responded, "Even if he wins and has money, it's still ours! After all, he’s still married to Sarah. Once we divorce, he won't get a penny!"
Ernest chuckled. "By the way, about the things thrown out of the door..."
Karen impatiently interrupted, "Bring them back first. We'll throw them again after we kick Ryder out!"
