Chapter 313 Frequently Betrayed by Women!

Mark leaned back and stayed quiet.

Olivia got anxious. "Mr. Davis! Say something!"

Mark sighed. "Do you know what got me from being a poor kid picking up trash to where I am now?"

Olivia quickly answered, "Your talent and ability, Mr. Davis!"

Mark shook his head. "Nope. It's one word: integrity."

"Integrity?"

Olivia was shocked. 'Who talks about integrity these days?' she thought. Mark had done some shady stuff to get where he was. How could he talk about integrity with a straight face?

But Mark was serious. "I know you doubt it, but it's true. In this business, you meet all kinds of people. If I stooped to their level, I'd fail. To stand firm, you need integrity. Only then can you earn trust and grow. Got it?"

Olivia was confused. She'd never heard Mark talk like this before.

But her anger for revenge was strong. "I don't care! You have your principles, but Ethan shouldn't be bullied! And what about me? Didn't you always say you cared about me the most?"

Mark stayed patient. "I do care about you and Ethan. That's why I've always kept you. But that doesn't mean you can act recklessly. Today's lesson will teach you to be more cautious. The world has changed; to make money, you need to keep a low profile."

"But..."

"No more talking. It's settled!"

Mark said it firmly.

Olivia wanted to argue but stayed quiet.

After a long pause, Olivia asked, "Mr. Davis, we can let this go. But when will you marry me? People call me a mistress, and Ethan gets mocked for not having a father. We can't let that continue."

Mark frowned. "I've told you I have plans. Don't think I don't know what you're after. But remember, greed leads to a bad end."

Olivia bit her lip, her eyes full of mixed emotions. Finally, she nodded. "I understand."

"Get some rest. I'll visit you when I can."

Mark left the room, closing the door behind him.

Olivia's face twisted with malice. "Old coward. All that talk about principles, you're just avoiding the conflicts."

As she cursed, a message popped up on WhatsApp.

She opened it and smiled.

The message read: [Olivia, how are you?]

Olivia replied: [Much better, you're more caring than that jerk!]

The other person: [Tell me more?]

Olivia: [Ethan and I got attacked by a dog someone set on us. Mark didn't even seek revenge; he just lectured me! It's infuriating!]

The other person: [He's just getting more cowardly with age, especially lately. So timid!]

Olivia: [I feel like I can't hold on much longer; I might just break down one day!]

The other person: [Don't think like that. I'll handle the revenge. Bullying my woman and child? I'll make him regret it!]

Olivia: [You're the best! Mark still doesn't know Ethan is yours. Just thinking about that makes me happy!]

The other person: [That's why he's stuck in the past. Once Mark's out of the picture, we can be together openly!]

Olivia: [Alright! I love you. Good night!]

The other person: [Good night!]

---

At midnight, in a Houston bedroom, a man and a woman leaned against the headboard, panting heavily. The room was filled with the aftermath of their passion.

"Michael! You're amazing! I can barely hold on!"

Michael lit a cigarette, took a puff, and said proudly, "Of course, I'm a real man! Ever met anyone as strong as me?"

The woman shook her head. She'd been a prostitute for over two years, with at least seventy or eighty men, but none had Michael's stamina.

Michael laughed. "Since I'm so good and you enjoyed it, how about a freebie tonight?"

The woman's expression changed. "No way! Not a penny less, unless you promise to be a regular. Maybe after ten times, I can give you one for free!"

Michael grinned, blowing smoke rings. "Deal! I'm well-known around the pedestrian street. I can bring you more business, making sure you earn money every day!"

The woman pretended to be shy. "You're so annoying!"

Just as they were about to do it again, the bedroom door was kicked open!

Michael was startled. "Oh my! Who is it?"

A group of hostile people rushed in.

The woman grabbed the blanket, wrapping herself tightly. Michael's face darkened. "Who are you? What are you doing in my house?"

The leader glanced at Michael. "Are you Michael?"

Michael snorted. "Seems like you know my name. How dare you come here and cause trouble? Interrupting my fun isn't something an apology can fix!"

The leader punched Michael right in the eye. "Apologize? Who the hell do you think you are?"

Michael's eye swelled up immediately. He was shocked. 'You dare hit me!' he thought.

Instinctively, Michael shouted, "Black! Get up here and bite them to death!"

Black was his Doberman, usually sleeping in a cage in the living room. But Michael called twice, and there was no sound. What was going on?

"Are you looking for this dog?" the leader asked.

Two of his men threw something heavily on the ground. It was Michael's Doberman, bleeding from all its orifices and lifeless.
