Chapter 128 Miss Abigail Takes Action!
At this moment, Aaron lying on the ground felt dizzy in his head.
It wasn't because Nathan had hit his head, but because he was terrified by his identity!
Aaron was arrogant and always acted like he was above everyone else, but he still knew how to assess the situation.
It was well-known that Scott's status as the richest man in Houston was unshakable, and he also held considerable influence in all of Texas.
Over the years, there had been many forces challenging the Brown family, but what was the result?
They were all wiped out!
Aaron was like an ant in front of them, easily crushed!
And now, he realized that he had made the mistake of mocking Scott's granddaughter, Cara, in public.
This had caused a huge problem!
Thinking of this, Aaron didn't care about his face anymore.
He directly hugged Nathan's leg, crying and wiping his tears, saying, "I'm really sorry, I spoke out of turn. Please forgive me!"
Nathan stopped kicking him!
He looked down at Aaron and asked, "What's your name?"
"Huh?" Aaron trembled.
On the surface, it seemed like a simple question, but to Aaron, it felt like Nathan was trying to probe his identity!
After he gave his name, Nathan would start investigating his family, all the friends and relatives he had contact with, and put them all on a blacklist!
And then, he would exterminate them all!
Thinking of this, Aaron felt like he was about to wet himself. "My trashy name isn't worthy enough to be said to you. Please spare me this time!"
Nathan frowned slightly. He just wanted to know a name, nothing more.
Did he need to react so violently?
He hadn't calmed down from his anger yet and sneered, "I really want to know, who gave you the audacity to insult my sister?"
Aaron's eyes shifted and suddenly landed on Ryder.
Pointing at him, he said, "It was him! Ryder was the one who asked me to do this. He wanted to use Mr. Weir's banquet to make himself stand out in front of everyone. He secretly urged me to cooperate with him in this act! Yes, that's what happened!"
After saying these words, Aaron felt clever.
He believed that Nathan, who was enraged, would shift his focus onto Ryder, and then he could escape unscathed!
While Aaron was envisioning the scene of Ryder being held down by Nathan and getting beaten, he didn't expect Nathan to casually grab a bowl of rice and slam it on his head!
Aaron's face was covered in rice.
He was in a sorry state!
Before he could even retaliate, Aaron was beaten by him, and Nathan had already spoken, saying, "Ryder is my newly acquainted friend. Daring to smear my friend's reputation, I'll teach you a lesson!"
With that, he kicked Aaron in the stomach. Aaron clutched his belly in pain. However, the pain from the physical blow couldn't compare to the shock of Nathan's words. Nathan actually considered Ryder a friend. How could that be? How could this penniless, incompetent servant become friends with Nathan?
Despite lingering doubts, Aaron dared not ask any further, afraid of getting another beating. Escaping this ordeal was the most pressing matter at hand. So, he continued to sob and wipe away his tears, pleading with Nathan to spare him. He even exaggeratedly mentioned his elderly eighty-year-old mother and his infant child, both waiting for his return.
The onlookers couldn't help but mock him:
"This bastard looks no older than twenty-three, yet he dares to lie!"
"It's normal for someone to lie in order to save their own life, but facing such an arrogant young man, we shouldn't be polite!"
"Mr. Nathan, give him a couple more kicks. In Houston, anyone who dares to show such disrespect to you deserves to have their entire family eradicated!"
"That's right! Mr. Nathan, we support any decision you make!"
Hearing the taunts from the crowd, Aaron's trembling legs couldn't support him. He deeply regretted his choices. If he had known this was how it would turn out to be, he wouldn't have come to this banquet. Sneakily watching movies in the office would have been more enjoyable.
"Mr. Nathan, please spare me!" Aaron, consumed with fear, was almost about to kneel before Nathan.
But Nathan spoke up, saying, "It's not me who will decide your fate today, but someone else!"
"Who?" Aaron hesitated for a moment and instinctively glanced towards George. Realizing that today was George's company banquet and he had made a foolish mistake, Aaron knew he had to beg for George's forgiveness.
However, before he could even think of a way to plead his case, Nathan had already pointed towards Ryder and, with a slight hint of a smile, said, "Let my friend deal with you. After all, you just insulted him the most!"
Aaron felt his head go blank for a moment. He was being handed over to Ryder! How could this be? He was just a servant in the house! Not to mention being left to Ryder's judgment, he couldn't even bear to be scolded by Ryder!
So, he shook his head firmly and refused, "I don't agree with this decision! Why should I let this worthless servant…"
However, before he could finish speaking, George suddenly spoke in a low and menacing voice, "You dare to disagree?"
"I..." Aaron was held captive by George's fierce gaze, feeling like a small white rabbit facing a wild wolf in the jungle. That gaze made him freeze, unable to utter another word.
The fear deep within his heart was unbearable!
He had a sense that as long as he dared to defy George even a little bit more, George would tear him apart alive!
So, he could only reluctantly nod and say, "I... I agree, alright..."
After hearing his response, Nathan and George both looked at Ryder, waiting for his decision.
Ryder sighed helplessly!
Well, since both of them wanted to give him an opportunity to display his authority, it wouldn't look good if he refused!
Moreover, this rebellious Aaron deserved to be taught a lesson!
He stood up and said to Aaron, "My way of dealing with things is simple. Since you enjoy insulting others with your foul mouth, how about a slap in the face?"
"A slap? You want to slap me!" Aaron instinctively clenched his fist.
He couldn't accept it if Ryder himself were the one to slap him!
But Ryder shook his head and said, "Slap you? I don't want to dirty my own hands!"
With that, he pointed towards Abigail at Table 2 and said, "Let this Miss Abigail help you out, I don't care about the severity, as long as she fulfills a hundred slaps!"
Abigail thought bitterly, "Why are you involving me?"
