Chapter 381 It's Texas Hold'em Again!

At this moment, Karen and Kyle felt an urge.

They were so furious that they almost wanted to jump out of the screen and tear Ryder to pieces.

Ever since they offended Ryder at Wild Lake last time, they had struggled to make it back to Houston.

And they barely managed to reattach Kyle's severed pinky finger.

While still in the hospital, they were found and captured by Mark's men.

Kyle had planned to use his connection with Kenneth to get close, but Mark's men beat him up.

According to them, if it weren't for your incompetence, Kenneth wouldn't have been harmed and been used to threaten Ryder.

In the end, it was all Ryder's fault. If it weren't for him, why would they be suffering like this?

Mark said to Ryder, "Mr. Clark, you have quite the nerve, not even caring about your mother-in-law and brother-in-law. But that's not surprising. I wonder what you think of these two?"

At this moment, a commotion came from the other end of the video.

Soon, several burly men dragged two bound women in front of the camera, shouting, "Behave yourselves, or we'll kill you on the spot!"

When Ryder saw these two, his expression changed slightly.

It was Lily and Charlotte .

They were tightly bound, but judging by their faces and clothes, Ryder could tell they hadn't been mistreated.

Compared to Karen and Kyle, Lily and Charlotte didn't show much struggle or beg Ryder for help, especially Lily, who felt deeply sorry for Ryder.

Earlier today, Daniel had approached her, saying Ryder's life was in danger and that only by going with him could Ryder be saved.

Lily, concerned for Ryder's safety, didn't think much and agreed to Daniel's request.

Unexpectedly, Ryder was dragged into this mess now.

Mark then said, "Mr. Clark, now..."

Before he could finish, Ryder interrupted, "This is just a game; I agree."

Ryder sat down at the poker table and said, "What are we waiting for? Let's get started. I love gambling with skilled people."

Mark and Ethan exchanged glances, then Mark nodded. "Alright. Since you agrees to play a few rounds, your two friends will be safe for now. What game do you want to play?"

Ryder asked, "What is the most exciting and popular thing in the casino?"

Mark replied, "Texas Hold'em. How about that?"

"No problem." Ryder nodded.

Ryder suggested that Mark and Ryan join in, making it a four-player game.

Mark agreed without hesitation.

On the one hand, he had absolute confidence in Ethan's ability to beat Ryan, and he himself had been running a casino for years. Though not as skilled as Ethan, he was a formidable opponent in Houston.

Ryder was just lucky to have beaten that loser Tim in Texas Hold'em.

How could he be a match for him?

The game started immediately.

Ryder, Ryan, Mark, and Ethan each took a seat at the four sides of the poker table.

In the middle, a woman in a sexy uniform dealt 52 cards.

Each player received one hole card.

Mark lit a cigar, took a puff, and blew out a smoke ring, saying, "Mr. Clark, it's no fun playing for small stakes. I suggest we make the minimum bet or raise $10 million each time. How about that?"

Ryder nodded. "No problem, but before that, I need to confirm something with you, Mark."

"Go ahead." Ryder checked the time on his phone and said, "Remember you said earlier that by 11 PM tonight, the person with the most winnings would get a $500 million cash prize. Is that still valid?"

Mark nodded. "I will keep my word."

Hearing this, Ryder grinned. "Alright, I hope you won't go back on your word then."

"Of course not," Mark said confidently, then threw out a chip. "I raise $10 million."

Ethan also threw out a chip. "I raise $10 million, too."

When it was Ryder's turn, he sighed and threw his cards. "Sigh. I fold."

As for Ryan, he did the same and chose to fold.

They both lost $10 million each.

The second round continued.

This high-stakes game had already attracted most of the gamblers present to watch.

They had expected an intense showdown, but to their surprise, from the start of the game to the sixth round, Ryder and Ryan folded every time after receiving their hole cards, never following the raises.

Although they had lost a total of $60 million, the process was quite boring.

Even Mark frowned slightly, took a puff of his cigar, and said, "Mr. Clark, constantly folding is unacceptable. Are you mocking me?"

Ryder smiled wryly. "There's nothing I can do about it. My cards are just bad."

Ryan, looking listless, said, "I'm not in the mood, feeling a bit sleepy. Mark, do you have another one of those cigars? Give me one to perk up."

Hearing this, someone nearby scolded,

"How dare you talk to Mr. Davis like that? Have some manners!"

"Being incompetent is one thing, but making excuses about your mood. Even if we gave you a cigar, you'd still lose everything tonight."

But Mark didn't mind. He snapped his fingers and ordered, "Someone, give Mr. Gonzalez a cigar."

Soon, a staff member handed Ryan a lit cigar.

Ryan took a puff and felt a transcendent feeling.

He secretly gave Ryder a look, then grinned, showing his yellow teeth, and said, "I'm in the state now. Let's start."
