Chapter 331 Jeffrey vs. Rex!
"A farmer?" Jeffrey repeated, stunned.
Jeffrey's eye twitched when he heard that. He'd been fighting for over twenty years, and always against trained fighters. This was his first time facing a farmer.
He didn't doubt Rex's words, though. Rex looked the part, and it annoyed Jeffrey even more. To him, it was an insult.
Trying to keep his cool, Jeffrey said coldly, "I don't want to hurt an amateur. Just give up."
Rex quickly shook his head and said, "I've trained! I did four days of Taekwondo!"
"Four days?" Jeffrey was even more irritated now.
"Fine! You've really pissed me off now!" Jeffrey yelled, raising his fists, ready to fight. Usually, only strong opponents got him fired up, but Rex's words had done the trick.
"Let the match begin!" the announcer called out.
Jeffrey lunged forward at lightning speed, aiming his right knee at Rex's chest. The impact was powerful, like a whirlwind. He landed the knee strike solidly on Rex's chest.
"It's over," Jeffrey said, turning to leave. He knew from experience that his knee strike, using 70% of his strength, could break wood and definitely a human's ribs. Rex should be down in seconds, spitting blood and collapsing.
But as Jeffrey took a couple of steps, he heard Rex's voice, "You're not going to keep fighting me?"
"What?" Jeffrey spun around. Rex was standing there, looking puzzled, with just a small red mark on his chest.
'How is this possible?' Jeffrey thought.
George chuckled, "That's Rex for you. Taking Jeffrey's knee strike without a scratch!"
Ryder chimed in, "That knee strike was a boxing move, right?"
George nodded, "Yeah, boxing is known for its power and agility, using one's fists, legs, elbows, and knees. It's one of the most lethal martial arts. Even if I weren't injured, I'd dodge that knee strike. If it hit me, I'd be hurt for sure."
Kenneth frowned and questioned, "Isn't Jeffrey supposed to be top-notch? Why is he struggling with a country bumpkin?"
Ronald looked puzzled too. This shouldn't be happening.
But Daniel, standing next to Kenneth, suddenly remembered something and looked scared. He hadn't noticed before, but now he recognized Rex as the guy who had beaten him up at the BBQ joint. The difference in strength between him and Rex was stark.
Realizing this, Daniel quickly turned to Kenneth and said, "Mr. Davis, that guy in the ring is tough! Tell Jeffrey not to underestimate him, or he might lose!"
Ronald's face soured. "Jeffrey's a top fighter in Texas. Losing to a rookie? That's a joke! Kenneth, your guys need to watch their mouths!"
Kenneth's face darkened. He snapped at Daniel, "Apologize to Mr. Lopez!"
Daniel, trembling, quickly apologized, "Mr. Lopez, I was wrong. Jeffrey's strong; he'll make Rex cry and surrender!"
"Watch yourself," Ronald sneered but let it go.
Daniel wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling something bad was about to happen.
In the ring, Jeffrey regained his composure, dismissing the earlier incident as a fluke. He leaped to the right and swung his elbow at Rex's neck with full force. If it hit, it could be fatal or paralyzing.
But Rex was ready. He blocked with his left arm, and Jeffrey's elbow barely made an impact.
"How is this possible?" Jeffrey's eyes widened.
Rex's right hand formed a fist and aimed for Jeffrey's face.
Jeffrey’s reflexes kicked in, and he managed to dodge, feeling the wind from the punch. He rolled twice to gain distance. When he touched his cheek, he was surprised to find a small cut.
Jeffrey's expression turned serious. If that punch had landed, he might have been knocked out. 'Where did Rex get such strength?' he wondered.
Rex strode over, throwing a powerful straight punch.
Jeffrey sidestepped to dodge and landed an uppercut on Rex's chin, but it had no effect. Rex swung again, and Jeffrey rolled to avoid it, sweating nervously.
Rex was tougher than he looked, Jeffrey realized. But the clueless audience didn't get it.
"What's with Jeffrey dodging all the time?"
"Just beat Rex already! Stop stalling!"
"Jeffrey must be throwing the match. His acting is so fake!"
"This is less interesting than the pre-show!"
The audience's comments were loud and clear, making Jeffrey furious. He knew he had to end this quickly.
Suddenly, an idea struck him. A vicious glint flashed in his eyes. He darted forward and aimed a punch at Rex's eyes. Rex instinctively raised his hand to block, but Jeffrey changed direction and landed a punch straight on Rex's throat.
