Chapter 301 Two Dogs
The Doberman growled, drool dripping from its mouth, looking fierce!
If it bit someone, it would probably take off at least half a pound of flesh!
Seeing this, Lily turned pale with fright.
She didn't expect Michael to be so unreasonable and rude!
Michael showed a smug expression. "Scared now, aren't you?"
Lily forced herself to stay calm. "What do you want?"
Michael grinned. "I'll give you two choices: either close the shop, or give me 50% of the profits from now on!"
Lily was shocked.
Running a pet shop barely made any money, and now she had to give away half?
Giving it away would definitely lead to a loss!
So Lily refused. "I can't accept either of your conditions. This is too much!"
Michael showed a lewd smile. "If you don't accept either condition, that's fine. You look pretty good. Why not be my girlfriend? Then you can close the shop, and you won't have to worry about anything!"
"No!" Lily answered decisively.
This made Michael unhappy. "Looks like you really want to know what it's like to be bitten by a Doberman?"
By now, a lot of bystanders had gathered around!
Someone quickly stepped forward to warn Lily, "Don't be too stubborn. Michael is well-known here. He knows a lot of big shots, and you can't afford to mess with him!"
"You should back down for now. Don't act on impulse and get yourself hurt!"
"A couple of months ago, someone opened a pet shop here and offended Michael. Within three days, they had a car accident and almost died, and the shop went out of business!"
Lily knew she couldn't afford to mess with Michael, but she couldn't swallow this humiliation!
What should she do?
At this moment, a voice rang out from the crowd. "Why are there two dogs barking at the shop entrance? If they keep barking and disturbing everyone, they'll have to be put in a cage!"
Everyone looked towards the voice.
They saw Ryder, covered in sweat, walking in.
Earlier, Ryder had been handing out flyers and accidentally walked too far.
When he realized it, he found he was some distance from the shop!
Ryder rushed back immediately!
As soon as he returned, he stumbled upon this scene!
He had to intervene!
Seeing Ryder, Michael asked with a displeased face, "What did you just say? I dare you to say it again!"
Ryder wiped his sweat with his sleeve, showing a mouthful of white teeth, and said nonchalantly, "I just said there are two dogs barking at the shop entrance. So what?"
Michael's brows furrowed. "Are you calling me a dog?"
Ryder quickly waved his hand. "I didn't say that. You admitted it yourself! You can't blame me!"
Hearing this, the people around burst into laughter.
"You!" Michael's face turned red with anger!
He looked Ryder up and down, snorting disdainfully. "You're just a worthless flyer distributor. Do you know who I am? How dare you talk to me like that?"
Ryder glanced at the Doberman, then at Michael, and suddenly realized. "I get it! You're the famous 'Dog Brother,' right?"
Michael was taken aback. "Dog Brother?"
Ryder nodded seriously. "Yeah, the brother of the Doberman. After all, the barking at the shop entrance sounds the same!"
The crowd burst into laughter.
"Oh my god! That's so funny! Who is he? He's so good with words!"
"He really has guts, not showing Michael any respect. This is going to be interesting!"
"Hey, don't you think he looks like someone? Like that guy who was on TV a few days ago, the CEO of a big company?"
"Stop kidding. Have you ever seen a CEO handing out flyers under the sun?"
"Good point! Maybe I got it wrong!"
Michael's face twisted with anger.
He had been dominating this pedestrian street for over ten years, and no one had ever dared to talk back to him. The shop owners here all had to call him Mr. Rodriguez.
Today, Ryder had called him a dog in front of so many people!
"Fuck you, bastard! I'll let my dog tear you apart today!"
Michael cursed and let go of the leash!
He shouted for the Doberman to attack Ryder!
The crowd immediately backed away, some even running off in fear of being bitten!
Lily was also scared, standing still in tension. She cautiously warned Ryder, "Ryder, don't move! The Doberman is very fierce. I'll try to call the police!"
Ryder confidently replied, "No need for that. I got this!"
Saying this, he didn't retreat but instead walked towards the Doberman, which made Lily break out in a cold sweat!
What was Ryder planning to do?
Not only her, but even Michael was surprised and shouted coldly, "Are you out of your mind?"
Although he hated Ryder and wanted to use the Doberman to scare him as a lesson, Michael didn't want to cause a fatal incident!
If something really happened, none of the big shots he knew could save him!
But Michael's shout didn't stop Ryder!
Instead, Ryder said to Michael, "Let your Doberman come bite me! Standing there is pointless!"
"Fine! You asked for it!"
Michael gritted his teeth and kicked the Doberman's rear. "Go! Bite him!"
The fierce Doberman barked a few times.
Then it started running towards Ryder!
The people around closed their eyes in fear, thinking Ryder must be out of his mind!
They were sure he was about to be torn to pieces!
But what happened next was beyond their expectations!
Just as the Doberman was about to reach Ryder, it suddenly sensed something!
Its body stiffened and it stopped!
The Doberman raised its head and locked eyes with Ryder's deep gaze!
For about ten seconds!
The Doberman suddenly tucked its tail, let out a yelp, and turned around to run back behind Michael.
It hung its head low, trembling all over, as if it had seen something terrifying.
