Chapter 516 The Truth Behind the Rumors of a Haunted Gym!
The live chat exploded:
"Holy crap! That's a ghost light! Freaked me the hell out!"
"There's actually a ghost! Brandon, get out there, now!"
"Run! Run! Run!"
"Ghosts are real, huh? Looks like there's way more to that stadium fire than we knew!"
Meanwhile, Brandon had already slammed the locker room door shut.
He took off running!
While running, he showed a terrified expression and shouted to the viewers on the livestream, "Did you guys see that? There really are ghosts here. Everyone, don't come to this stadium, it's too dangerous!"
The viewers in the live stream all suggested that Brandon leave the stadium immediately, or he would die!
Just as Brandon had sprinted a good distance away, the storage room door in the hallway ahead suddenly creaked open on its own!
In the shadowy corridor, a woman in a tattered white lab coat, her hair a mess, drifted out of the room.
Her face was hard to make out, but the scorch marks on her lab coat were unmistakable—charred and discolored.
The scene cranked the creep factor up to eleven!
The chat exploded even more!
By now, over fifty thousand people were glued to the stream!
"Ghost! That's a ghost!"
"She must be the ghost of the person who was burned to death three years ago. Brandon is going to die tonight!"
"This is too scary, I can't keep watching!"
"Is there any kind-hearted viewer who can call the police? Someone's definitely going to die!"
"Are you out of your mind? Do you think the police will believe there's a ghost? Besides, calling the police won't help in this situation!"
As the live chat blew up with ghost talk, Brandon's panic skyrocketed.
He yelled into the stream, "I'm cutting the feed now. No way I'm hauling this selfie stick while bolting outta here. I'll update when I'm safe. Don't forget to hit follow!"
Right after that, Brandon killed the stream!
Even though the whole thing lasted less than ten minutes, no doubt this clip was gonna blow up online!
Thinking about it, Brandon couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.
He yelled out, "That's a wrap, guys!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the old hallway lights flickered a few times and came back on!
The "ghost" in the white lab coat was now fully lit up—and it was obvious she wasn't a ghost at all!
Up close, she was just a girl in a white lab coat, her hair purposely messy, standing on a skateboard with a rope tied to it, leading into the storage room.
The whole "floating ghost" thing? Totally rigged!
She hopped off the skateboard, grinning like she'd just pulled off the prank of the century, and asked, "So? How'd I do? Pretty convincing, huh?"
Brandon smiled and gave her a thumbs-up!
At this moment, a man walked out of the storage room, holding a rope and a skateboard.
Brandon said, "Hurry up and pack up the stuff. Let's get out of here before anyone finds out!"
As he spoke, he turned towards the locker room and shouted, "Peter, what's taking you so long? Hurry up, we're going home!"
However, there was no response from the locker room!
Brandon frowned and cursed, "You're always unreliable. This time I'm docking you five hundred dollars, let's see if you…"
He cut himself off mid-rant.
Because Peter Evans had finally emerged from the locker room.
Except he wasn't walking—he was being carried out, hogtied by a guy built like a grizzly bear!
This man was Rex!
Rex's appearance made Brandon's face turn pale instantly, and he asked warily, "Who are you? What did you do to Peter?"
Rex didn't answer Brandon's question but directly threw Peter forward.
Peter landed in front of Brandon and the others, grimacing in pain!
At this moment, another voice sounded, "We didn't do much, just came here for a ghost-hunting game. Unexpectedly, we caught four ghosts at once!"
The newcomer was Ryder!
Brandon's face darkened. He scowled, "I don't know you. Why'd you tie up my guy?"
Ryder stepped closer, still smiling faintly. "So, all these ghost rumors at the stadium—that's your handiwork, huh? Gotta admit, your props and acting are top-notch. Very professional!"
As he spoke, he gave Brandon a thumbs up!
Brandon's face froze for a second before he quickly shot back, "I don't know what you're talking about. We just happened to wander in here. No clue about any of this!"
"No clue, huh?" Ryder's grin widened as he pulled out his phone, swiped open his photo gallery, and started scrolling.
Seeing this, Brandon couldn't control his expression!
Because the photos showed all their preparations before the live stream, including the lab coat and skateboard props!
This alone could prove that the earlier events were man-made!
Brandon's face turned ugly, and he stared at Ryder, "What do you want?"
Ryder chuckled, "Don't be nervous! I just want to ask a question. How much did the person behind this pay you for staging this event? How many more performances are you supposed to do?"
This question made Brandon frown even more, as if he had thought of something very concerning.
He shook his head, "We're just here for kicks. No one's paying us, and no one's calling the shots!"
Ryder seemed to have expected Brandon to say this!
He strolled around casually, keeping his tone chill. "No worries if you don't wanna spill. Let me take a guess. The big boss pulling the strings wants you to stir up some ghost buzz in this stadium, rake in cash, and freak out the folks in NYC, especially the Rigal District. And your crew's not the only one in on it, right? That security guard at the entrance's got his cut too. Keeps everyone else out, so only you can waltz in and 'spot the ghosts.' Am I close?"
Brandon's eyes went wide. "How the hell do you know all that?"
Ryder smirked, "Don't sweat how I know. Just think about what happens if this blows up. Stirring up mass panic? Pushing spooky myths? Scamming your fans for cash? Man, the fallout alone is gonna be wild."
These words completely terrified Brandon and the others!
After all, they were just an ordinary streaming team with no real power!
If this got exposed, not only would their fans abandon them, but they would also face legal consequences, which they couldn't handle!
So Brandon knelt down in front of Ryder!
With a tearful face, he pleaded, "Sir! I beg you, please don't expose this. I'll tell you whatever you want to know! I'll tell you everything!"
Hearing this, Ryder and Rex exchanged a secret glance!
Then they both smiled knowingly!
