Chapter 413 Someone Has to Take Responsibility
The manager's words got Ken's fans all riled up.
"Yeah, totally! That old lady just tripped on her own. What's it got to do with Ken?"
"Are you guys paid to trash him? Ken's a hard worker and super polite. Why you gotta drag him down?"
"Lol! That old lady's totally faking it to stir up drama. This stuff happens all the time online!"
Ken just stood there, hands in his pockets, like he didn't have a care in the world.
Barbara was floored by what she was seeing!
She couldn't believe the manager and fans were being so unreasonable!
She glared at them, not backing down. "Do you even have a conscience? This old lady got pushed down, her arm's hurt, and you're still dodging responsibility."
Sarah chimed in to back Barbara up, "We saw her get knocked down with our own eyes. We're not making this up. We're just telling the truth!"
But their words didn't faze the fans at all.
Instead, it just made them even more fired up.
"They're disgusting. They keep saying we knocked someone down, trying to ruin our beloved Ken's rep!"
"Look at these two bitches. They're a disgrace to Houston!"
"Ken, don't worry. We'll protect you. You're so kind, we can't let them hurt you!"
Some fans were even more intense.
They actually rushed forward, surrounding Barbara and Sarah, glaring daggers at them.
Sarah noticed these fans were pretty young, like around 20.
There were even a few girls in high school uniforms among them.
So young, yet so vicious.
Sarah tried to stay calm, "Everyone, chill out. The most important thing right now is this old lady's injury. Can you let the airport staff through?"
What seemed like a reasonable request to others sounded totally different to these fans.
"What do you mean? Calling in the staff to keep framing our Ken?"
"Ken's the real victim here. Why should we let the staff come in to back up this lying old lady?"
"No way! We want you to apologize to Ken! Clear Ken's name!"
"Exactly! If this gets filmed and posted online, do you know how much damage it'll do to Ken?"
Seeing the fans' angry faces, Barbara finally got how powerful die-hard fans could be. She couldn't help but snap, "There's no point talking to you crazy fans. Move aside now. If you delay the old lady's treatment, none of you will get away with it!"
Ken's fans couldn't handle that and went ballistic.
A few of them rushed forward and started shoving Barbara, and the scene turned into total chaos!
The airport staff saw this and their faces went pale, worried the conflict would blow up. If something happened, they'd definitely be held responsible!
So, the airport staff quickly muscled their way into the crowd, using a megaphone to keep things under control.
Luckily, they got there just in time, and the whole mess didn't spiral out of hand.
But in the chaos, Barbara and Sarah's sunglasses and baseball caps got knocked off, showing their real faces!
At first, the crowd only noticed their tall figures and fair skin. Now, seeing their stunning looks, they were floored!
Whoa!
These girls were drop-dead gorgeous.
And they were only wearing light makeup, but they looked way better than any celebs or influencers you see online!
Ken's fans, who were all cocky before, suddenly went quiet.
Most of them weren't exactly lookers, and they knew they couldn't compete in the looks or charm department.
As for Ken, his eyes practically sparkled when he saw them!
He was a rising star and had met plenty of beautiful people in the industry, but he'd never seen anyone as stunning as these two!
Plus, they were clearly natural beauties, no plastic surgery here!
A sly look crossed his face as he walked over to Sarah and Barbara.
He extended his hand and said, "Hey, I'm Ken!"
Sarah and Barbara were a bit taken aback to see Ken come over!
But after just getting shoved around, they weren't in the best mood.
Especially Barbara, who responded coolly, "Yeah, I know. What do you want?"
As she said this, Barbara shook hands with Ken.
Ken looked a bit embarrassed. He pulled his hand back and smiled gently. "I just wanted to see if you could make peace with my fans for my sake?"
Hearing this, Ken's fans looked at him with stars in their eyes.
"Wow! Ken is so kind-hearted!"
"He works so hard and still stands up for us. I'll always support him!"
"This is the positive energy Ken brings! Ken is the best in the world!"
Barbara felt a wave of cringe listening to the fans' praise. She pointed to the old lady sitting on the ground and said, "We're not here to cause trouble. We're here because of the old lady's injury. As a public figure, shouldn't you take responsibility for your security guard knocking someone down?"
"I..." Ken started to say something, but his manager cut in. She adjusted her glasses, looking all high and mighty. "Miss, I'm warning you again, don't talk nonsense! We didn't knock her down! Find someone else to blame!"
The manager had no choice but to say this.
She had actually seen the old lady get knocked down, but she couldn't admit it. It would bring a ton of bad press for Ken!
In her mind, an old lady's injury was nothing compared to Ken's public image!
Barbara and Sarah were fuming at the manager's unreasonable attitude!
Just then, a familiar voice rang out. "I don't care if you take responsibility for knocking someone down, but your fans knocked off my wife and sister-in-law's sunglasses and hats. Someone's gotta take responsibility for that!"
