Chapter 633 News That Shook the Entire City

"BREAKING: Elite Young family implicated in multiple serious crimes, including collusion with foreign powers!"

"EXCLUSIVE: Suspect Constantine in police custody; son Tyler killed by foreign agents during escape attempt!"

"DEVELOPING: Maple Group, citing humanitarian concerns, acquires Young Group to preserve thousands of jobs!"

By morning, these headlines dominated every news outlet in Aurora City and across Texas.

Though containing typical media sensationalism, their broadcast on official channels confirmed their essential truth: one of Aurora City's premier families had collapsed overnight.

The business community reeled in collective shock.

"Impossible!" whispered executives in corner offices. "The Young family just... gone?"

"I heard Maple Group and the Youngs were archrivals," others speculated. "This takeover smells like a calculated power play."

"Keep your voice down," cautioned the more pragmatic. "If this is true, Maple Group now surpasses any first-tier family in Aurora City."

Those who had attended yesterday's wedding confirmed the stark reality: Constantine faced life imprisonment. Tyler had died at sea. The Young dynasty was now merely history.

Everyone expected Maple Group's mysterious chairman to appear at the acquisition announcement.

Instead, Brent represented the company—the same Brent formerly associated with the Wallaces, the Youngs' longtime enemies.

His presence as a Maple board member confirmed what many suspected: this takeover had been orchestrated long ago.

With the Young assets absorbed, Maple Group's influence would reach unprecedented heights.

They now controlled two major ventures—Rigal District Stadium and the GoldenEagle APP—both promising extraordinary profits.

Aurora City's self-proclaimed elite quickly adjusted their allegiances. The businessman's nature prevailed: praise the rising star, disparage the fallen, and above all, secure your own interests.

First-tier families like the Moores and Weavers believed their connection to the Johnsons gave them an advantage in cultivating Maple Group's favor. Gabriel Moore certainly thought so.

"You'll handle the Rigal District Stadium negotiations," Gabriel instructed his son-in-law Kyle after the wedding. "Your relationship with Ryder gives us an edge."

Kyle inwardly cringed but outwardly promised: "Ryder and I are close. He'll definitely consider me!"

"Good. I'm relieved to leave this project in your hands."

Kyle smiled obligingly. Though his status in the Moore family had improved thanks to his Maple Group connections, his home life remained unbearable.

Since returning to the Moore Mansion in Pearl Peak City, Kyle had been attentive to his pregnant wife's every need.

This morning, he'd even brought chicken soup prepared by his mother Karen, carefully cooling it before feeding Lisa himself.

"What kind of soup is this?" Lisa sneered. "Trying to salt me to death? And it's too cold now. How am I supposed to drink this?"

She glared at her husband. "You useless man. Your pathetic performance last night made for a thoroughly disappointing evening."

The more Lisa spoke this way, the more her mind filled with images of Rex's impressive physique. How wonderful it would be to live with such a magnificent man instead of this weakling!

Kyle felt a chill run through him. Lisa's nearly three-hundred-pound frame was genuinely difficult for him to handle. Her size made intimacy challenging, yet she still complained he was inadequate.

This life had become unbearable! Yet Kyle dared not mention divorce. He'd made his choice. Remembering that Ryder had once suffered similarly gave him hope to persevere.

Lisa, seeing Kyle's desperate expression, grew even more furious.

"Divorce!" she suddenly declared. "I want a divorce from this terrible excuse for a man."

She stormed into the living room, intent on discussing it with her parents. As she passed Karen, a strong perfume scent made her cough violently.

"Karen," Lisa snapped, covering her nose. "What's the point of all that makeup when your cheeks are still sagging? Go wash it off!"

"I—" Karen began, but Kyle interrupted.

"Mom, you just had surgery. You shouldn't be using these products. And the strong smell isn't good for Lisa's pregnancy."

Karen's face filled with remorse. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I'll wash it off right away. We can't upset my future grandson!"

"What grandson?" Lisa exploded. "This is MY son! It's none of your business! From today, you and your son can get out of the Moore family!"

"But..." Karen was speechless.

Gabriel and Jasmine Moore approached, having overheard the commotion.

"Darling daughter," Jasmine said firmly, "anything else is negotiable, but not this. Kyle is the Moore family's chosen son-in-law."

"Am I even your biological daughter?" Lisa asked bitterly. "You never support me."

Jasmine took her daughter's plump hand. "You're carrying Kyle's child. Even if you don't care about our family's reputation, think about your baby."

"I'll just abort it then!" Lisa declared defiantly. "I love Rex. I want to have his children!"

"Child, why won't you listen to reason?"

"Don't pretend I don't know what's happening," Lisa said. "You're only nice to Kyle because you want to partner with Maple Group. But guess what? Rex is also close friends with Ryder!"

"Nonsense!" Jasmine countered. "Rex is a country boy, completely beneath you. Kyle may be weak, but he's better than a bodyguard. Rex would mistreat you!"

"But I genuinely like Rex. I'm drawn to him."

"We will not discuss this further!"

"Mom, I—"

Gabriel interrupted,"Enough, Lisa. Listen to your mother on this."

The family continued arguing as if Kyle and Karen weren't even present. How ironic—they truly treated him as one of the family, just not in the way he desired.

Kyle felt a flash of resentment and bitterness burn through him. Someday, he vowed silently, he would succeed beyond their imagination.

And when that day came, he would make the entire Moore family kneel before him.
