Chapter 649 Joint Development of Rigal District Stadium?

"Exactly!"

Patricia's anger flared up at Ryder's response. "Ryder, don't push your luck. If you weren't Abigail's brother-in-law, I wouldn't be so nice!"

"Hold on a sec," Ryder said calmly. "Earlier, someone approached Maple Group about a joint venture to develop the Rigal District Stadium. At the time, we were more interested in the Moore family. But now, I can make the call for Maple Group to work closely with you. The catch is, I need to protect Saskia."

After he finished speaking, the phone line stayed open, but both sides were silent.

Three minutes passed.

Patricia asked suspiciously, "Are you serious?"

"Of course. Tomorrow, I'll arrange for Maple Group's CFO, Francis, to discuss the collaboration on the Rigal District Stadium."

"Alright then," Patricia pondered. "Regarding Alfonso's death, the Weaver family won't pursue it further."

Patricia had thought this deal through carefully.

The Rigal District Stadium land had initially been part of a series of business collaborations between the Weaver family and the Young family.

However, before the Young family could finalize the purchase, rumors of hauntings forced them to sell it at a low price.

Now, the Weaver family realized it was all a strategic play between Maple Group and the Young family, with Maple Group coming out on top.

The land was now set to become a horror-themed park, popular among young people, increasing its market value significantly.

Maple Group had truly played their cards well, and Ryder was a master strategist. Patricia knew that such a person was better to ally with than to antagonize.

Initially, the Weaver family had chosen to collaborate with the Young family on the Rigal District Stadium because of its commercial potential, hoping to impress the family patriarch.

But after the stadium was sold off, Patricia had to deal with the fallout, which was costly.

Now, with Alfonso's death, Maple Group was proactively seeking collaboration. Securing this partnership would definitely boost Patricia's standing and overshadow Dylan.

If she had known earlier that the woman involved with Alfonso was Ryder's first love, she might have used this to leverage Ryder into a partnership without him needing to call.

It seemed fate was on her side.

As for Alfonso, his death served a purpose.

After hanging up, both parties had gotten what they wanted.

Patricia, though pleased, immediately smashed her phone in front of Owen, Oliver, and others, breaking it into pieces.

"Ryder, how dare you use this to threaten me? Damn it!" she fumed.

Oliver shrank back in fear. "Mom, what's going on?"

Patricia was usually composed and elegant, never losing her temper like this.

Owen was also surprised. "Patricia, did something happen? Is it related to Alfonso?"

Patricia sighed heavily, then walked over to Owen, patting his shoulder before letting go, looking troubled. "Owen, regarding Alfonso, he might have to be wronged."

"What do you mean?"

Patricia explained, "Do you know who just called me? Ryder, the chairman of Maple Group! And the woman we suspect killed Alfonso is Ryder's first love!"

"No way! I've met that woman's ex-boyfriend, and his last name is Clark. But a chairman of a group delivering packages? Plus, I know he's married to a beautiful woman," Owen said, frowning.

Finally, he slapped his forehead, realizing, "Oh my God, I'm so confused! He really is the chairman of Maple Group, and his wife Sarah is from the Johnson family!"

Understanding this, Owen felt like banging his head against the wall. He had once thought of marrying Sarah to Alfonso, but now it seemed ridiculous.

No wonder Sarah had rejected his suggestion without a second thought!

However, justice must be served, and Saskia must face legal consequences for Alfonso's death.

"But Patricia, Alfonso can't die in vain! You can't let us, your loyal supporters, down!" Owen said, half-threateningly.

With his only son dead, Owen's life felt bleak, and he saw no reason to hold back.

"I understand! But Owen, Ryder has agreed to collaborate on the Rigal District Stadium project, which you have been eager to discuss with Maple Group. Unfortunately, they ignored us before."

Patricia then explained from another perspective.

"Moreover, Ryder's willingness to negotiate shows how important Saskia is to him. If we insist on punishing Saskia, it will only lead to mutual destruction between Ryder and me, benefiting Dylan."

Owen listened to Patricia's words, thought for a while, and then nodded with a bitter smile. "Alright! I'll follow your lead on this. But remember, when we finally take over Maple Group, both Saskia and Ryder, along with Sarah, must pay for Alfonso's death!"

"I'm glad you understand. It's late, and Oliver and I will head home. Don't be too sad, and get some rest!" Patricia yawned.

"Yes, don't worry. I also despise Ryder and the Johnson family. None of them are good people! I'll avenge you!" Oliver added.

Finally, Patricia and Oliver left the hospital, taking a private car back to the Weaver Mansion.

On the way, Patricia emphasized to Oliver, "Tomorrow, you will represent the company in negotiating the Rigal District Stadium collaboration with Maple Group."

Oliver confidently assured her, "Don't worry, Mom. Ryder needs us now, so he'll be eager to sign the contract. I'm not afraid of him!"

"It's not about fear! You represent the Weaver family, so be dignified and composed. Your grandfather will hear about this, and it should reflect well on you!"

Oliver shrugged indifferently. "Got it! I'll handle it perfectly tomorrow!"

He was eager to take control of the Weaver family and his first act would be to get rid of Abigail.

"That's my good son!" Patricia said, satisfied.

In the past, Oliver had found even visiting the company painful. But now, she could see his transformation clearly.

Indeed, marriage had made him more responsible and restrained.
