Chapter 454 A Complete Mess

Hearing Ryder's words, the band didn't waste a second and quickly started playing.

They smartly switched from the upbeat tunes to a funeral dirge.

The music was so heart-wrenching that it brought tears to everyone's eyes. These guys were pros!

But for Heather, it was pure despair.

She wasn't even dead yet, but here she was, about to be put in a coffin with funeral music playing. The irony was brutal.

Then, to her surprise, Ryder turned to Andy and said, "Remember our deal? You promised to sing a birthday song for Heather. Time to keep that promise!"

Andy was floored.

He suddenly remembered borrowing two million bucks from Ryder who only asked him to sing for Heather's birthday instead of paying it back..

Andy thought it was just easy money back then and agreed without a second thought.

Now, he realized Ryder might have planned this all along. The thought made him shiver.

He looked at Ryder, fear creeping into his eyes. If Ryder had really foreseen this, he was one scary dude.

Ryder stared him down and said coldly, "What? You don't want to sing? Or do you plan to pay back the two million?"

Andy quickly nodded, "Of course, I'll sing. I love singing."

Paying back two million now was like asking for his life.

So, Andy cleared his throat and, ignoring the weird looks from everyone, started singing.

He was a bit off-key, but he sang with all his heart.

Heather, who was trying to climb into the coffin, almost lost it. She cursed Andy silently.

But she had no choice but to hold back her tears and keep climbing.

Her arms were weak, and as soon as she got up, she slipped and fell into the coffin.

The fall left her dizzy.

And being in that small coffin, smelling death, terrified her.

Before she could get up, George ordered his men, "Seal the coffin!"

They didn't hesitate. They pressed Heather's head down and sealed the coffin shut.

They ignored her struggles and pounding from inside.

The Johnson family members kneeling on the ground, and the guests standing around, felt a chill run down their spines.

They were scared stiff of Ryder's methods.

If this happened to them, they'd lose it for sure.

Ryder's gaze swept over them, his voice icy. "Everything that happened today is your own doing. If anyone's got a problem, come to me anytime. But if there's a next time, I'll show you what it really means to wish for death."

With that, Ryder turned and walked away.

George and the men in black followed him closely.

Ryan Barbara, looking confused, followed everyone out too.

Now, the large yard was left with just the Johnson family members and the guests who had come for the birthday banquet.

The birthday banquet had turned into a complete joke!

Obviously, the party was over.

The guests exchanged glances, then looked at the disheveled Johnson family, realizing Ryder's power was far greater than they had imagined.

And the Johnson family? They were definitely in for some rough times, and sticking with them wouldn't end well.

So, one of the guests shouted, "Since the party's a bust, why are we still here? Let's grab our gifts and head home."

As soon as those words were out, everyone agreed.

Made sense—they'd been there forever, got soaked, didn't get a bite to eat, and were scared out of their wits by Ryder's crew.

Since the birthday bash was a flop, they might as well take their gifts back.

So, they all rushed to the gift table at the entrance.

It turned into a mad scramble.

The person in charge of the gifts couldn't stop them and got knocked to the ground.

The scene was total chaos.

The Johnson family saw this and freaked out, their eyes wide.

They tried to stop the guests.

Andy remembered the last time they had a housewarming party, it flopped, and the guests took their gifts back.

This time, they had hyped up the birthday party and spent a lot, and now the gifts were being taken back again!

Other people made money from hosting parties, but they always lost money!

How could they stand this?

So, a fierce fight broke out.

"These are our family's gifts; you can't take them!"

"Your party scared the crap out of me, get lost!"

"Put the stuff down! Put it down! Don't you have any manners?"

"Such a small family doesn't deserve our gifts!"

The guests outnumbered them by a lot.

The Johnsons tried their best but couldn't stop the disaster.

In just a couple of minutes, all the gifts were gone, leaving only a mess.

The remaining Johnson family members sat on the ground, eyes vacant, still processing what had happened.

The pounding from inside the coffin startled them.

Only then did they remember Heather was still trapped inside!

"Holy crap! We almost had an accident! Save her quickly!"

So, the Johnson family rushed to the coffin to rescue Heather.

After dealing with the Johnson family, Ryder headed straight to the hospital.

Sarah lay on the bed, hooked up to an IV.

The doctor said she just had a cold and low blood sugar and would be discharged after a couple of days of rest.

Ryder opened the door, walked in quietly, and sat by the bed.

He held Sarah's pale hand and said softly, "I'm back."

Sarah slowly opened her eyes and saw Ryder.

Her eyes immediately welled up. "You're finally back. I have so many questions to ask you."

Ryder said gently, "Don't worry, take your time. But before you ask, finish this bowl of porridge."

As he spoke, Ryder brought over a bowl of nutritious porridge.

He continued, "Sit up, lean on me, and I'll feed you."
