Chapter 580 Shocking News
"Absolutely not!" Ryder shot back without even thinking.
Barbara was wasted, but he sure wasn't.
"But..." Barbara bit her lip and looked down.
Then, out of nowhere, she looked up with bright eyes, "But Ryder, you know what I like most about you? It's that you always turn me down, always look down on me!"
After a hiccup, she went on, "Do you think it's like 'you always want what you can't have'? And you, you're always my favorite, always so confident around me. Suddenly, I feel so pathetic!"
Why was she crying again?
You just can't reason with a drunk person.
"You're drunk, go sleep it off. We can talk when you wake up," Ryder said, trying to pry Barbara's arms off him.
But Barbara wasn't having it.
"No! Ryder, you're not my brother-in-law right now, you can't treat me like this! You can't!"
She pressed her whole body against his chest, leaving no space between them.
"Fine, I shouldn't ask for so much! I shouldn't expect you to kiss me like other guys kiss the girls they like! But please, stay with me a little longer, I'll tell you my story, I promise it's something you've never heard before!"
Ryder nodded. "Alright, go ahead."
Maybe she'd talk herself to sleep.
"Okay, I'll start! But after I finish, you can't hate me! You can't avoid me!"
Ryder shook his head. "I won't."
"I knew it, Ryder, you're the best! The best guy in the world!"
So, Barbara snuggled into Ryder's arms and mumbled, "Actually, I was drinking with a good friend earlier, someone I met at a socialite training class."
"Remember that male celebrity Ken we saw at the airport today? I found out today he's my friend's boyfriend! If I had known, I would've punched him at the airport. Men are all the same!"
At the end of her rant, Barbara pushed Ryder away.
She smacked her lips. "You're the same! You already have my sister Sarah as your wife, and yet you're holding me! So shameless! But compared to Ken, you're much better. I'm going to sleep now, don't bother me unless it's important!"
With that, Barbara rolled her eyes dramatically, got up, and staggered towards her bedroom.
Ryder stood there, dumbfounded.
But he did catch two shocking bits of news from Barbara's rambling—Socialite training class; Ken and his current girlfriend.
Meanwhile, in a swanky private room at the Breeze Club.
Tyler slammed his hand on the table. "Damn it, it's that Ryder again! He's really using his chairman status to mess with me at every turn!"
A scantily clad woman was sitting on Tyler's lap.
She was about to offer a toast but jumped at his outburst. The red wine in her glass spilled on his leather shoes.
"Bitch!" Tyler slapped the woman to the ground and pointed at his shoes.
The woman knelt, trembling. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"
She hadn't even heard what Mr. Young had said!
Tyler slapped her again, then stood up and kicked her over, grabbing a bottle of red wine from the table and smashing it over her head.
The bottle shattered on impact. Red wine spilled all over her!
It was hard to tell if the red liquid on her head and face was wine or blood.
The woman clutched her head, rolling on the ground and screaming in pain.
The other women in the room were all silent, heads down, not daring to look.
Tyler was a regular at the Breeze Club, known for being a playboy.
So every time he invited people over for dinner, he would order some pretty girls for special service.
In his eyes, these so-called pretty girls were just commodities for entertainment.
When in a bad mood, he could beat and scold them as he pleased!
"Get out!" Tyler scanned the room, his expression grim.
As soon as the women left, Ken, wearing a black mask, entered the room.
He closed the door, and then he took off the mask.
Seeing the mess on the table, Ken couldn't help but frown. "Mr. Young, what happened? Did those women make you angry?"
He had just stepped out to take a call, and everything had changed when he returned.
Tyler frowned. "My dad just called. According to reliable sources, Maple Group is secretly developing an internet product, the same type we're about to launch."
"What? Is that true?" Ken gasped.
Tyler squinted slightly. "This time, we can't lose! So Ken, once the product is launched, you have to give it your all in promotion! Nowadays, no celebrity in the country has your influence!"
Ken patted his chest in assurance. "Don't worry, Mr. Young! I also want to see Ryder go bankrupt, so he has no reason to show off in front of me."
Tyler nodded in satisfaction.
Then he leaned back on the sofa and patted his thigh.
Seeing this, Ken sensibly sat down on Tyler's lap, snuggling into his arms.
"By the way, how's everything going with your little girlfriend, Anna Jones? Have you built any connections with her family?" Tyler asked, stroking Ken's waist.
Ken shook his head. "Don't mention it! It makes me angry just thinking about it! If it weren't for her still being useful, I would have broken up with her! She controls me like a prisoner every day! She even said she left home with no intention of going back unless her family begged her to return."
Tyler frowned. "But as her beloved boyfriend, you need to take the initiative in certain matters!"
"Got it, Mr. Young! I'll remember that! When I get back after this promotion, I'll get her in my bed. Once she is sweet-talked, everything will be easy!"
"You haven't slept with her yet?"
Ken nodded. "She grew up in the Jones family in the Capital City, so it's normal for her to be conservative. And to act like a good boyfriend in front of her, I naturally chose to respect her decision."
"No, speed it up! Our time is limited," Tyler said and then whispered in Ken's ear, "As punishment, tonight you'll face away from me!"
Ken blushed. "But I have to attend a press conference tomorrow."
Tyler laughed indifferently. "I know you well. After a good night, you'll be even more energetic the next day!"
