Chapter 412 Pick-up
Ryder and his crew were chillin' in the departure lounge.
It'd been over a month since Ava jetted off for surgery.
In that time, Ryder had been through the wringer but finally kept his word.
The day Ava got back would be the day Ryder made his mark in Houston!
He had to make sure Ava was safe when she returned, no matter what.
Ryder checked the time and something clicked in his head.
He turned to Sarah and said, "Y'all hang tight. I gotta grab something real quick. Be right back!"
With that, Ryder took off with Rex, leaving Sarah and Barbara near the exit.
They were both rocking casual looks today, with baseball caps and shades!
Even though you couldn't see their faces fully, their figures and vibes were turning heads left and right!
Especially the dudes, who'd sneak peeks but knew these ladies were way outta their league.
No one dared to make a move!
Barbara hadn't planned on tagging along, but after Sarah kept talking about how Ryder's sister Ava was this beautiful, kind, and smart girl, her curiosity got the best of her.
'Cause in her book, Sarah rarely gave out compliments.
Ava must be something special to get Sarah all hyped up!
Plus, she was curious to see how Ava compared to Ryder!
Just then, they noticed a crowd forming at the exit.
About thirty people, completely blocking the way!
They were all young girls, some with phones, some with cameras, and a few holding signs and banners!
The signs read, "Ken, we love you!"
"Love you forever, Ken!"
"Ken! I wanna have your baby!"
"Ken, you've worked hard!"
Seeing this, Barbara blurted out, "What the heck is going on?"
Sarah chuckled and said, "You don't get it, huh? They're here to meet someone, probably a celeb. They're all fans. You see this all the time at airports now!"
Barbara pouted. "So that's it. Never seen this abroad! Celebs must be a big deal here!"
Sarah nodded, not saying much more.
As they were chatting, someone in the crowd started screaming, "Wow!! Ken is here! He's so handsome!"
Immediately, the other fans joined in with ear-piercing screams. "Ken, look over here! I'm here!"
"Wow! So handsome! Ken, you're the most handsome!"
The screams were drawing a lot of attention from the passengers.
Such noise in public was naturally annoying to some.
But all they could do was frown and speed up their pace to leave.
Sarah and Barbara looked towards the passage!
They saw a young guy with red hair, looking like he just stepped off a runway, walking over. He was flanked by his manager, assistant, and eight security guards!
Ken waved to his fans, sending them into a frenzy.
"Did you see that? Ken waved at me! I'm gonna die!"
"I'm so excited I'm gonna explode!"
"Ken even smiled at me!"
The crazy fans screamed and pushed forward!
Those who weren't Ken's fans but were there to pick someone up got shoved to the back.
Some even busted through the airport staff's barriers, charging into the passage!
They screamed and snapped pics of Ken!
The airport staff were losing their minds over this chaos!
Ken was this young artist who blew up after a talent show a couple of years back, now a big deal with a massive online following.
Everywhere he went, a mob of fans would show up, causing a ruckus.
Even though Houston wasn't a huge city, they did get some celebs for gigs now and then, but they'd never seen anything like this!
So, they were kinda freaking out!
But Ken and his crew? They were totally used to it.
The manager even had this smug grin on his face!
Even in this small city of Houston, the fans were going nuts. Didn't that just prove how famous Ken was?
The security guards formed a circle around Ken and started moving out of the passage.
As soon as they stepped out, the remaining fans went berserk, almost charging forward like they were going to war!
The area around the exit got completely jammed.
Other passengers who had just gotten off the plane and were trying to get out couldn't move!
"Make way!" The security guards shoved hard, trying to clear a path!
Even if the fans got pushed down or touched in sensitive spots, they didn't seem to care.
They were still lost in their world of idol worship.
In the middle of the chaos, an elderly lady was getting jostled around, looking dizzy and freaked out. "Stop pushing. Stop!"
But her cries fell on deaf ears!
At that moment, one of the security guards shoved hard, making the elderly lady lose her balance and crash to the ground!
Her arm even got stepped on twice by the fans!
When Sarah saw this, her face went pale, and she shouted, "Stop pushing! Someone's fallen! Don't hurt anyone!"
As she yelled, she ran over.
Barbara was right behind her!
They squeezed through the crowd and finally reached the elderly lady.
But there were too many people around, and the elderly lady was pretty heavy, making it impossible to lift her up!
At this point, other passengers nearby also started shouting that someone had been knocked down, or that someone had fallen, finally catching the attention of Ken's team and the fans.
They stopped moving forward and turned to see what was happening.
The elderly lady lay on the ground, gasping for breath, clutching her arm. "Oh, it hurts!"
Barbara saw the bruises on the elderly lady's arm and felt a surge of anger!
She turned to Ken's team and the fans, shouting, "Can you all follow some basic decency? You knocked down an elderly lady and just ignored it?"
She said this to call them out, hoping they'd realize their mistake and come to help the elderly lady.
But to her shock, Ken's manager adjusted his glasses and sneered. "Watch your mouth. What does her fall have to do with us? Don't try to pin every little thing on Ken! Be careful, or you'll be hearing from our lawyer!"
