Chapter 650 Saskia?
The next day.
Oliver, along with his two assistants, made his way to the Maple Group building.
Since Ryder had already given Francis a heads-up, the negotiation was just a formality. In less than half an hour, Oliver had the cooperation agreement signed.
The folks at Maple Group treated him with the utmost respect.
Oliver felt a bit cocky. His stride was completely different from when he first walked into Maple Group.
He carried himself with an air of superiority, as if Maple Group was beneath him. Signing a contract wasn't as tough as they made it out to be. Maybe it was his personal charm!
Oliver was in a fantastic mood. Maple Group wasn't that impressive after all! He would eventually take it over!
As Oliver walked out, he paused briefly at the entrance, glancing at the Maple Group logo.
At that moment, Kyle arrived at the Maple Group entrance. He immediately spotted Oliver and his two assistants, and his heart sank.
Kyle had been closely following the Rigal District Stadium project and knew the Weaver family was interested in joining.
Seeing Oliver looking so pleased, could it be that they had already reached an agreement with Maple Group? That couldn't be right!
Sarah had promised him that if he showed Barbara the video on that phone, she would talk to Ryder about it.
The Moore family and Maple Group collaborating on the Rigal District Stadium was a done deal!
But seeing Oliver here made Kyle uneasy. He decided to approach Oliver.
"Hey, you're from the Weaver family, right? Oliver?"
Oliver was visibly taken aback. He glanced at Kyle's face.
"Oh yeah, I remember you. You were at my wedding, right? The Moore family's live-in son-in-law, Kyle, isn't it?"
Kyle's mouth twitched.
Starting a conflict with someone from the Weaver family in this setting wasn't wise. As a live-in son-in-law, Kyle had learned to be moderately patient.
Seeing no reaction from Kyle, Oliver wondered if he had been too subtle. So, he continued to mock Kyle, "Kyle, shouldn't you be at home taking care of your pregnant wife? Coming out here, aren't you just disgracing all live-in sons-in-law? Hahaha!"
"Oliver, don't push it," Kyle coldly reminded him.
Oliver shrugged indifferently. "Oh! Are you here to discuss the Rigal District Stadium project with Maple Group too?"
"What? You're here for that project too?"
Kyle could no longer stay calm, his tone becoming urgent.
"Kyle, guess what this is?" Oliver waved the document in front of Kyle.
Kyle couldn't see it clearly and didn't care to. He coldly glanced at it and started walking upstairs.
"This is the cooperation agreement for the Rigal District Stadium!"
Kyle felt like he had hit a wall, standing there in shock. He quickly turned back.
"The cooperation agreement for the Rigal District Stadium?"
How was that possible?
Kyle was panicking. Oliver enjoyed seeing fear in others. Kyle's reaction pleased him.
"Haha, I know what you're thinking! Let me make it clear: the cooperation rights for the Rigal District Stadium now belong to our Weaver family! The Moore family has no chance!"
Oliver waved the document in Kyle's face.
"If you want it so badly, you can kneel and beg me!"
Oliver waited for Kyle to kneel. Of course, even if Kyle did, the Weaver family would still develop the Rigal District Stadium.
"Are you kidding me? How did it become the Weaver family's? That's impossible!"
Kyle's face twisted in anger.
"Why not? By the way, is your sister as ugly as your wife?"
"What do you mean by that?" Kyle squinted, looking like he wanted to eat Oliver alive.
Oliver shrugged indifferently. "Haha, figure it out yourself. Bye!"
With that, Oliver walked away, slapping his thigh with the document and humming a tune, gloating as he went.
After Oliver left, Kyle stood there, dumbfounded. How did things turn out like this? It was supposed to be a sure thing that the Moore family would develop the Rigal District Stadium with Maple Group!
How did it become the Weaver family's in just a few days? And what did Oliver mean by saying his sister was ugly?
That couldn't be true. Sarah was the most beautiful woman in Houston, and even in Aurora City, he hadn't seen anyone more beautiful than her!
Could it be… Ryder was cheating?
Kyle's mind raced. That must be it! With Ryder's power and influence, many women must be throwing themselves at him.
The Weaver family must have bribed Ryder with a beautiful woman or trapped him somehow, forcing him to cooperate with them.
He had to tell Sarah quickly. Maybe there was still a chance to salvage this.
Otherwise, failing the Moore family's trust would jeopardize his position in the family.
Kyle decided not to go into Maple Group just yet. He found a quiet spot outside and called Sarah, explaining everything about Oliver's signing with Maple Group and his suspicions.
Finally, he added, "Sarah! You have to help me. If you don't, Mom and I will be tormented by our snobbish relatives in the Moore family!"
On the other end, Sarah's tone was calm. "Don't worry, I'll confirm this with Ryder. But if Maple Group chose the Weaver family, there's nothing I can do."
"Sarah, you can't be like this! I can tell from Oliver's tone that Ryder chose to cooperate with the Weaver family because of a woman!"
"So?"
"So, Sarah! You're so beautiful. Don't be too conservative. Dress provocatively, maybe even cosplay. Men love that! I guarantee Ryder will be completely captivated by you!"
Sarah fell silent.
Kyle said a lot, but there was no response from the other end.
"Sarah? Are you listening? I'm your brother; I wouldn't harm you!"
"Alright, I'll ask Ryder about it. I'm busy now, so I'll hang up."
Sarah hung up the phone. She was sitting in her office, trying to focus on her work, but her increasingly serious expression revealed her true feelings. Her mind wasn't on work.
As she looked at the pile of documents, images of Ryder and Saskia together filled her mind.
Sarah put down her pen heavily, sighed, and dialed Ryder's number.
"Hello, who is this? What do you need from Ryder?"
A woman's soft voice came from the other end.
Hearing this, Sarah's eyes widened, and her lips trembled. "Saskia?"
