Chapter 78 You Can Move In Later!
Sarah noticed the hesitation on Ryder's face and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "What's the problem in having a meal with your friend?"
"Well, you see, he is quite busy. He's currently abroad, so we can discuss inviting him for dinner when he returns. Haha!" Ryder explained with a wry smile.
"Alright!" Sarah pouted with a hint of disappointment. "No wonder I didn't see him at the bidding meeting this morning. The vice president was in charge!"
Seeing Sarah's reaction, Ryder raised an eyebrow with interest. "Based on your words, it seems like you have some thoughts about my friend!"
Sarah glared at him and pinched his arm hard. With a serious expression, she said, "What do you think of me? We've been married for three years! Even though nothing has happened between us, as long as we're not divorced, I will abide by the marriage law! Do you understand?"
"I understand, I understand!" he replied.
Sarah withdrew her hand and said, "I'm full. I'll go take a shower. Clean up the table!"
Leaving these words behind, she headed toward the bathroom.
Ryder sat in the chair, wearing a bitter smile.
Actually, he wanted to say that it didn't matter if Sarah had fallen for the new CEO of Maple Real Estate.
But her response had surprised and moved him deeply.
He really hit the jackpot by marrying her!
Ryder was in a great mood as he cleared the leftover food and washed the dishes.
Soon, Sarah finished her shower and came out wrapped in a towel.
Even though they had lived under the same roof for three years, Ryder's eyes were still drawn to Sarah.
Her looks, figure, and temperament were all so perfect.
After the shower, she looked even more radiant!
Unfortunately, for Ryder, she was only to be admired from afar!
Sarah didn't notice Ryder's lingering gaze.
Sitting on the sofa, she crossed her legs and instructed Ryder, "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and get the hairdryer. Help me blow dry my hair!"
"Huh? Alright!"
Ryder hurried over to get the hairdryer, plugging it in and helping Sarah dry her hair.
Sarah's fragrant hair wafted to Ryder's nose. It was intoxicating!
At this moment, Sarah was bending down to fix her hair, so Ryder could see her chest through the towel.
Ryder smiled and thought he and their future children would definitely 'eat their fill'!
"I have a question for you." Sarah suddenly interrupted Ryder's thoughts. "Even though the new CEO of Maple Real Estate is your friend and you returned the $6 million to the Johnson family, I still think the gambling agreement you signed today is too risky!
"Considering the amount of building materials required by Maple Real Estate, apart from Maple Group, I can't think of any other company that can meet their demands. After all, I am in charge of the subsidiary's production capacity, and we can't even meet the requirements in three months, let alone three days. Do you have a plan?"
Ryder remained silent.
"I might find a way to spend money and purchase the necessary building materials from other companies in these few days, but we simply can't afford the costs. Moreover, you quoted a price of 5 billion dollars for the bid! There are some hurtful words I don't want to say to you, but you've truly been impulsive this time..." Sarah trailed off.
"Just trust me!" Ryder said confidently.
Sarah pursed her lips and said, "Even your friend can't help with you with something like this! I'll figure it out myself! I won't be easily defeated!"
Saying that, she even swung her fist forcefully.
Ryder witnessed this scene and found Sarah even more adorable.
"Let's leave it at that! If your company isn't busy tomorrow, come to my company and help me out!"
"No problem!"
Sarah adjusted her towel and walked toward the bedroom.
But when she reached the doorway, she suddenly halted and turned to look at Ryder.
A blush appeared on her cheeks as she said, "If we get through this tough time, you shouldn't stay in the small room at night anymore... Move to my room instead..."
After speaking, Sarah quickly stepped into the bedroom and closed the door, leaving Ryder alone in the living room.
He revealed a silly and happy smile...
The next day, Sarah drove Ryder to the branch office.
The branch office was a two-story small building with a factory behind it, covering an area of about 2,000 square meters.
It specialized in manufacturing construction materials.
The branch office consisted of 30 people, including white-collar positions such as sales, procurement, finance, design, and ordinary factory workers.
A few years ago, there were only six or seven people in this branch office, and it operated at a loss every year.
It was only after Ernest handed over the position to Sarah that it began to thrive and reach its current scale.
However, Sarah still couldn't gain recognition from the Johnson family!
Sarah parked the car and entered the company with Ryder.
This was also the first time Ryder had officially come here since getting married.
He hadn't come before because Sarah was worried about embarrassing herself.
"Sarah!"
"Good morning!"
Along the way, people greeted Sarah constantly.
Sarah smiled and nodded in response to each one.
After the two of them walked away, some employees started gossiping!
"Hey! Who was that man who came in with Sarah just now? He looks quite young and handsome!"
"Don't you know? That person is Sarah's husband, Ryder!"
"What? He's Ryder, that useless person?"
"It's really embarrassing!"
As they were discussing, an annoyed voice interjected, "Are you all not working today?"
Everyone turned around to find Sarah's assistant, Emily, speaking. She was a cute girl with a ponytail and big eyes.
The crowd sighed and returned to their workstations, no longer discussing.
Emily, on the other hand, went upstairs and knocked on Sarah's office door.
Seeing Ryder sitting on the couch, Emily respectfully greeted, "Ryder!"
"Hello!"
Ryder responded with a smile, feeling grateful toward Emily.
When Sarah was taken away by Grandpa Johnson in exchange for Andy, it was Emily who had called him just in time. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
Emily handed a stack of documents to Sarah.
Emily said anxiously, "Sarah, I just received news that several building materials suppliers have canceled their cooperation with us starting today! Our company lacks raw materials. We'll have to halt production. What do we do?"
