Chapter 527 The Bet

Upon hearing this, the executives present were full of astonishment.

Seriously? Using something this big as a bet? Kid's got no chill.

Ryder just shrugged, cool as ever. "If my bet on the Wallaces flops, I'll hand over my personal 19% stake in Maple Group as an internal reward. Add that to the 30% I already promised—that's 49% up for grabs."

"What?"

"49% of the shares?"

"Nearly half of the shares!"

But some of the execs couldn't care less about what Ryder was saying.

With a young, hot-headed CEO like him, who knew when—or if—the company would ever go public?

Even if they got the shares, they'd be worthless if the company tanked. What good would that do?

If Maple Group went south, those shares wouldn't even be worth the paper they were printed on. Total waste!

"Mr. Clark, may I say something?"

"Go ahead!"

As Ryder finished speaking, the room erupted into heated debate again.

By the end of it, a few execs were so fed up they threatened to bail and join another company!

Ryder just smirked, "If you wanna leave, be my guest."

The execs exchanged uneasy looks.

After a tense moment of silence, three of them actually stood up.

Ryder remembered that when dealing with the Milton incident, these three were also demoted and had their salaries reduced.

Clayton Wood, General Manager of the Human Resources Department. He had long used his position to accept bribes from job seekers amounting to twenty million dollars!

Quentin Robinson, General Manager of the Advertising Department. He often used his position to force female celebrities into sexual relationships!

Calvin Young, General Manager of the Administration Department. During holidays or company purchases, he would embezzle large sums of money, owning as many as thirty-eight properties!

"Alright, no problem! Go handle your resignation procedures!" Ryder didn't hesitate at all.

Ryder couldn't wait for these three who had caused losses to the company to leave Maple Group!

Led by Calvin, the three looked a bit grim.

They were key employees of Maple Group, holding important positions!

It could be said that without them, the normal operation of the group would be problematic!

Ryder looked at the three, his gaze becoming a bit darker, "No need to explain, I get it. Calvin, right? If my intel's correct, you're a distant branch of the Young family? Always been on the outside looking in. Now that you've hit a rough patch here at Maple Group, the Youngs come calling, and you're all too ready to bail—with your buddies in tow, huh?"

"How did you...?"

"Don't worry about how I know. Just get out. You're fired." Ryder leaned back in his chair, cool and unshaken.

He'd just gotten the intel right before the meeting!

Ryan had been indulging in sex the night before, and the woman he'd been with had also hooked up with the three guys standing in front of Ryder. Let's just say Ryan's moves in the sack were so impressive, she ended up spilling everything.

But honestly, who even goes that far to dig up dirt?

Since Ryder had called them out, Calvin and his crew didn't hold back.

Their tone turned sharp. "Mr. Clark, since you've got it all figured out, we won't stick around to cramp your style."

Ryder didn't even flinch.

But Francis stepped in, trying to defuse the tension. "Come on, you've been with Maple for years. Don't do something you'll regret."

Calvin just sneered. "Regret? With the way Mr. Clark's running things, who wouldn't want out? A word of advice to the rest of you—don't waste your time here. It's a sinking ship."

And with that, they walked out, slamming the door behind them.

The meeting officially got to the point.

At least in Ryder's view!

He had Rex distribute the pre-printed documents to the executives present.

The documents included:

The company's IPO schedule, stamped with the seal of the stock exchange!

The equity transfer welfare system, stamped with the personal seal of the chairman of Maple Group!

No way these were fake!

This meant Maple Group was going public soon—and the shares they'd get would be worth a fortune!

Now, the chairman was offering 30% plus 19% of the company's shares as part of an employee incentive program.

Even just 1% of those shares would make them rich beyond belief!

Ryder could tell he'd won back the trust of the execs in the room. Then, he quickly broke down why he was pumping four billion into Brent.

As soon as he finished, Francis kicked off the applause, and the room erupted into cheers—all smiles and good vibes!

Ryder waved his hand helplessly, "We don't need to be so polite!"

Francis laughed heartily, "Mr. Clark, if you laid it all out for us earlier, wewouldn't have had all that misunderstanding!"

"This is not a misunderstanding—Mr. Clark's a genius! Did you see how he just flushed out dead weight like Calvin?"

"Exactly." The execs chimed in, showering him with praise.

"Enough said!" Ryder stood up, slapping the conference table. "Ladies and Gentlemen, remember that little wager we made earlier?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the execs' faces went pale.

Ryder smirked, "No need to sweat it. I just brought up what happens if I lose. But if I win… what's your move?"

The executives understood that Ryder's move meant at least a 70% chance that the four billion pumped into Brent's company would pay off for Maple Group!

Francis muttered, "Fine, I'll give up three months' salary."

Ryder tapped the table, locking eyes with him. "And the rest of you?"

"I'll pull three extra hours every day for three months!"

"No meat for three months!"

"I'll skip family time for three months!"

Ryder listened, rolling his eyes.

He cut them off with a hand. "How about you all stay single for three months?"

The room went dead silent.

Their jaws hit the floor as they stared at Ryder in shock.

He smirked, waving it off. "Relax, just messing with you. But since everyone's so into the three-month thing, how about this: if I win, you all go undercover at the grassroots level for three months—without getting caught."

The executives nodded in agreement!

After all, everyone was committed to the development of Maple Group, and understanding the lives and work of grassroots employees would be beneficial to their own work!

Ryder's approach was truly brilliant!

The meeting ended successfully!

If handling the Milton situation last time was a test, then today's executive meeting was the real deal—a total power move!

It solidified Ryder's authority and set the stage for Maple Group's future growth.

Ryder was pretty pleased with how things turned out.

At noon, he took Ryan and Rex to a fancy restaurant across the street for lunch.

"Ryder, you're killing it!"

Ryder waved it off, "Uncle Ryan, you're the one who's killing it!"

"No need for the mutual praise," Ryan said, then leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper, "But there's something I need to tell you—it's about Anthony."
