Chapter 341 None of Your Business!
The next day.
Early in the morning.
In front of Houston Mayo Clinic.
Karen slowly walked out with the support of Kyle and Dominic on either side.
She looked very weak, her face pale!
A Mercedes AMG S 65L was parked at the hospital entrance.
Sarah hurriedly took two steps forward and asked with concern, "Mom, are you feeling any better?"
Karen coughed twice and replied weakly, "I'm okay, but it's hard on you to come so early! Won't it delay your work?"
Sarah said, "Mom, what are you talking about? The most important thing now is your health. I've already handed over the company matters to others.
"Actually, I've decided to stay by your side and take care of you during this period. Once you're better and Dad is discharged, I'll go back to work!"
Hearing this, Karen grabbed Sarah's hand.
With tears in her eyes, she said emotionally, "You're truly my good daughter, so kind and understanding! I regret my past actions more and more, I'm sorry!"
These words made Sarah's eyes redden again!
As for Ryder, who was standing next to Sarah, he hadn't said a word from the beginning!
Ever since Sarah found out that Karen had cancer, she had become very sensitive and fragile!
Her mind was entirely focused on curing her mother's illness!
Yesterday, she even paid the seventy-thousand-dollar deposit!
And when Kyle suggested going to Dragon Hill to pray, Sarah had agreed too!
So, early in the morning, Sarah was ready to take everyone to Dragon Hill to pray!
At this moment, Dominic reminded, "Sarah, it's windy outside. Let's get in the car quickly. Don't make Karen catch a cold!"
Sarah nodded repeatedly, went over to open the car door, and carefully helped Karen into the car!
Kyle took the driver's seat, adjusting the seat and touching everything.
His eyes couldn't hide his greedy fondness.
It was such a nice car!
Dominic sat in the front passenger seat.
In the back seat were Karen, Sarah, and Ruth!
Dominic stuck his head out of the window and shouted to Ryder, "The car is full, there's no room for you. Why don't you take a cab and follow us?"
Hearing this, Sarah felt a bit uncomfortable and tried to smooth things over for Ryder. "Ryder, isn't Rex coming? Let him drive you! Taking a cab to follow us is ridiculous!"
Ryder replied with a bitter smile, "Rex had something come up today, he couldn't make it!"
When they heard that Rex couldn't come, Kyle and Dominic exchanged a glance, a look of triumph flashing in their eyes!
But no one noticed their expressions at that moment!
Sarah frowned. "Since Rex isn't here, you don't need to go. It's just a prayer, no need for so many people!"
Ryder said worriedly, "I’m worried about you going alone. I'll take a cab and follow you."
As soon as he said this, Kyle said with some displeasure, "Ryder, what do you mean by that? Don't you trust us?"
Dominic snorted coldly, "I don't get it. Ever since Karen got sick, you've been making snide remarks on and off! Right, we know you're rich now, and you look down on us country relatives! But don't go too far!"
Ruth immediately chimed in, "What can we do? We're just poor relatives who are a burden and have no value!"
Hearing this, Sarah took a deep breath and said coldly to Ryder, "Ryder! Can you consider my position for once? I know this family has been unfair to you in the past! But my mom is terribly sick now, can't you be more magnanimous and let bygones be bygones? Yesterday you said my mom was faking her illness, and today you're maliciously speculating about my relatives!"
"You really disappoint me!" Sarah added disappointedly.
"But..." Ryder was about to say something when Sarah immediately interrupted him, "No buts! I trust my relatives, I don't need you meddling! You're not coming!"
After saying that, she instructed Kyle, "Kyle, drive! Ignore him!"
"Okay!"
Kyle's face lit up with joy, and he stepped on the gas, driving away!
Just as they left, three black cars stopped not far away!
A person got out of the front car!
It was Josh!
"Mr. Clark!!" Josh called out to him.
Ryder asked in confusion, "Josh, what are you doing here?"
Josh replied with a grin, "Well, I heard yesterday that George got hurt in a fight, so I thought I'd visit him. I happened to be driving by and saw you, so I came to say hello!"
Ryder nodded, "I see, George has been discharged and is resting at home! You can go visit him!"
"Since George is resting, it's not good to disturb him. Mr. Clark, are you waiting for someone or planning to go somewhere?" Josh asked.
"I'm planning to go to Dragon Hill!" Ryder replied.
Hearing this, Josh's eyes lit up. "What a coincidence! My second uncle hasn't been feeling well lately, so I was planning to go to Dragon Hill to pray for his health. If you don't mind, how about we go together? I have something to discuss with you!"
Ryder didn't hesitate much and agreed, "Sorry to bother you for this!"
"No trouble at all!"
So, at Josh's invitation, Ryder got into his car and they headed towards Dragon Hill.
Dragon Hill was located 62 miles east of Houston.
Dragon Hill had an elevation of 3,600 feet, making it the highest peak around Houston!
Getting there required taking the highway and country roads, usually taking about an hour and a half to get there!
But Sarah and her group had been driving for over two hours.
They still hadn't stopped, nor had they seen any sign of Dragon Hill!
Not only that, the road was also getting more remote and bumpy!
Sarah asked Kyle, "Kyle, did you take the wrong road? I've been to Dragon Hill before, and I don't remember taking this route!"
Kyle smiled and replied, "You don't know, the original road is under construction and blocked, so we have to take a detour! Don't worry, we'll be there soon!"
"Alright! I'm not in a hurry, just worried that Mom might get tired from sitting in the car for too long!"
Karen said, "I'm fine, I can hold on. Don't worry!"
So, they drove for another ten minutes!
The car suddenly stopped and was turned off!
Sarah looked out the window and saw that the car was parked by a lake surrounded by woods!
There was not a single person in sight!
"Kyle, why are you stopping here?"
Kyle turned around and smiled. "Because we've arrived!"
Sarah frowned. "What are you talking about? This isn't Dragon Hill!"
Kyle squinted slightly. "We're not going to Dragon Hill anymore!"
Sarah was stunned. "If we're not going to Dragon Hill, then what are we doing here?"
At this moment, Karen, who had been sitting weakly beside her, suddenly became energetic.
With a serious expression, she said, "We're here to settle some old scores!"
