Chapter 383 The Crazy Gamble (2)
Even though the voice was tiny, anyone with sharp ears at the scene caught it, sparking a wave of laughter.
"Man, it's only the second card, and he's already outta chips. How embarrassing!"
"Seriously though, with a $200 million bet, these guys are loaded!"
"This round ain't just about who’s got the better cards; it's about who’s got the deeper pockets!"
The more intense the gambling got, the more the crowd loved it.
Honestly, it didn't matter to them who won or lost; it was all just good gossip for later.
They'd brag about seeing a high-stakes game at the casino.
Right then, Ryder whipped out a bank card and said, "I’m exchanging $500 million in chips, half for Uncle Ryan. We're both in!"
The card got swiped in no time.
With $500 million in chips, Ryan and Ryder each threw in $200 million!
Adding the $400 million from the first card, the total chips on the table hit $1.2 billion!
$1.2 billion in cash? That was top-tier money in Houston!
The female dealer started dealing the third card to the four players.
Mark: 10 of Hearts
Ethan: 7 of Diamonds
Ryan: 8 of Clubs
Ryder: Queen of Spades
Mark then said, "We’ve been betting with cash, but my casino’s running low on the ten-million-dollar chips. How about we use fixed assets for this round? Let’s evaluate them on the spot."
Ethan nodded. "Mr. Davis, that’s a solid idea. I’m in!"
Ryder shrugged. "Guess we gotta roll with it!"
Hearing this, Mark’s lips curled into a cold smile. "This time, I’m betting my underground boxing arena in Houston! Someone, bring it over!"
Brian walked over and dropped a stack of documents on the table.
Mark continued, "These papers are the agreement Ronald signed, transferring the arena to me. It’s mine now, and I can do whatever I want with it. No issues, right?"
This caused a stir, and the gamblers started whispering.
"What? Ronald’s underground boxing arena is now Mr. Davis’s? Didn’t he just die this morning? Could it be..."
"Shh, don’t talk nonsense. We know nothing! Don't look for trouble!"
"Even with Ronald’s death affecting business, that arena’s still worth at least $500 million!"
Ethan laughed. "Haha, Mr. Davis, you’re too generous! I don’t have many assets in Houston, but Unity Pharmacy is mine, and I’ll bet it!"
This bet shocked the gamblers even more.
Now it was Ryan’s turn!
Ryan scratched his head, thinking about his fixed assets.
His two run-down houses back home and a half-collapsed barn—could they meet the betting standard?
Mark smirked. "What, Mr. Gonzalez can’t come up with the bet again? If needed, Mr. Clark can chip in more; he’s got plenty of cash!"
His goal was clear: to milk Ryder dry, fast.
One guy covering bets for two? No way he could keep up with Mark and Ethan!
Just then, George, standing behind Ryder, piped up, "I'll cover Mr. Gonzalez's bet. My Polka Bar, plus some other small spots like KTVs and pool halls in Houston, should do the trick, right?"
"Well..." Mark hesitated, not expecting George to step in for Ryan!
Even though he knew George was Ryder's guy, he figured George was just in it for the perks. When push came to shove, George might switch sides.
He'd seen it happen a million times!
People with shady pasts often flipped. It was too common!
But he underestimated George. After all they'd been through, George saw Ryder as his most trusted boss and friend!
So when it was time to step up, he didn't flinch!
Mark thought for a few seconds and finally nodded. "No problem!"
It wasn't his ideal outcome, but weakening George was still a win!
Finally, it was Ryder's turn!
Ryder looked at the chips, asset agreement documents, and sighed. "You all are so loaded. Tonight, I'm blinded by the bling. At this point, I gotta bring out my last asset! Kenneth Vacation Villa, just finished and not yet open, should be flashy enough, right?"
As soon as he said this, the room went silent for a few seconds, and many faces showed some awkward expressions.
They sneaked glances at Mark, watching his reaction!
Most people knew Kenneth Vacation Villa used to be Kenneth's before Ryder won it.
Now, Ryder was putting it on the table, rubbing salt in Mark's wound!
But Mark didn't show any anger; he laughed heartily. "This bet is no problem. As expected of Mr. Clark, you know exactly what I want!"
At this moment, the female dealer took a deep breath and started dealing the fourth card!
She was super nervous!
Even though she'd worked in the casino for years and seen countless games, this was the first time she'd dealt with one this big and intense!
If she didn't keep it together, she might not even be able to hold the cards steady!
The fourth card was dealt!
Mark: Jack of Hearts
Ethan: 4 of Diamonds
Ryan: 2 of Clubs
Ryder: King of Spades
With the fourth card dealt, the game’s situation became much clearer.
At this moment, the revealed cards of the four players were:
Mark: Queen of Hearts, 10 of Hearts, Jack of Hearts
Ethan: 9 of Hearts, 7 of Diamonds, 4 of Diamonds
Ryan: 6 of Spades, 8 of Clubs, 2 of Clubs
Ryder: 10 of Spades, Queen of Spades, King of Spades
Based on the revealed cards, Mark had the upper hand, trending towards a straight flush in hearts with 10, Jack, and Queen!
Next was Ryder, who also had a shot at a straight flush in spades!
As for Ethan and Ryan, their chances were looking pretty slim.
